You may think of Doom as the ultimate mindless shooter, but the truth is, the game has deep lore that I don’t necessarily recommend trying to get into, because it can end up hurting your head. Through seven main games (with their corresponding DLCs), the work of John Carmack and John Romero has evolved to unimaginable limits. And now it takes us to the most surprising place where you’ve never killed demons before: the Middle Ages.

There had been rumors for some time about the existence of ‘Doom: The Dark Ages’. And when there’s smoke, you know there’s fire, or in the case of ‘Doom’, blood. A lot of blood. In this Doom, we’ll see the beginnings of the Doom Slayer, back in the year 2025. The game will be released not only on Xbox Series X (with Game Pass), but also on PS5 and PC. We’ll all be killing demons.

As you can imagine, the trailer offers exactly what you’d expect. Shootings, extreme precision, blood, and apparently the ability to ride dragons, which, whether you like it or not, is always a bonus. Obviously, the people behind the thrills will once again be id Software, who already revolutionized the saga with ‘Doom Eternal’ and the DLCs that expanded the story even more.

Some fans are already putting on bandages before any wound has occurred, just in case the studio’s new adventure is not as glorious as the previous ones (particularly the 2016 ‘Doom’); there’s been criticism on the graphics and an alleged lack of imagination in the weaponry. Honestly, this new ‘Doom: The Dark Ages’ promises pure and unrestrained fun. Sometimes you just have to go with the flow.

Now, at last, the moment to stop waiting has arrived, because next month ‘Doom: The Dark Ages’ will finally be announced. And it is going to be spectacular.

We all know ‘Doom’. You can play it even on printers and refrigerators with a screen. It is the ultimate FPS, and its leap to the latest generation of games brought us two amazing games that left us eagerly waiting for the next one. We are Doomed!

Do you know when a series, a movie or a video game comes out that you had no idea you needed with all your soul? That’s the case with this new ‘Doom’ that will be set in the Middle Ages as, probably, a prequel to the rest of the saga. It’s the worst kept secret in the industry right now, but it is known that we will have a full trailer on June 9th, at the Xbox game presentation.

As far as we know, ‘Doom: the dark ages’ has been in development for four years and in the end it is one of the most powerful franchises of Bethesda. However, this does not mean that it will only be released for PC and Xbox: apparently, Microsoft has had to kneel down and allow PS5 to release it as well, although it is not clear if it will be at the same launch or within a window of time.

We do know that it will arrive on Game Pass, Microsoft’s service that they have to think very carefully about for the new generation. And yes, it’s possible that you’ve heard of it, except that in the past it was called ‘Year zero’, a name that further increases the possibilities that it is the origin story of the Doomslayer. More than three decades have passed and, in some way, the saga continues to stand firm and always innovative. Not all of them achieve it, that’s for sure.

It has had everything from comics to novels to two indescribable movies. And, of course, the saga has continued throughout the decades. Its latest main installment, Doom Eternal, the seventh in the saga, was nominated for Game of the Year and, according to many, should have won. But there’s a twist.

A player of Doom Eternal, when turning on the game the other day and checking the statistics on PS5, came across an unexpected surprise: apparently, he had played for over 400,000 hours. Specifically, 464,517, which is a little over 53 years without stopping to eat, sleep, or do anything else but play. It could be a hobby like any other if it weren’t for the fact that the game was released in 2020 and the numbers just don’t add up.

Sadly, it’s not that the user revealed themselves as a time traveler (especially because after so many years, they wouldn’t even have achieved platinum), but rather, it is supposed to be an error from Sony that comes from the Unix era, a system that counts the number of seconds since January 1, 1970 and is used by many systems and programming languages.

In this way, there are ‘GTA 5’ players for PS5 who have 468,164 hours or, even worse, from ‘God Of War Ragnarok’ with 463,451. Even some have saved data from 2058. An absolute madness that is now fun but in the near future can cause a similar effect to the year 2000 (only this time for real).

Sony has not said anything yet, and it is not clear if they will fix it anytime soon. Hey, being the person in the world who has played ‘Doom Eternal’ the most, even by accident, is something to put in your Tinder bio.
