Special Glaivier package in Lost Ark April update

The newly introduced Glaivier Advanced Martial Arts Class in Lost Ark has become a massive hit amongst fans. Unsurprisingly, Tripod Studio Smilegate RPG, the confusingly named developer behind Lost Ark, is celebrating this win on the part of the new class with new loot for it in the April update.

The April update introduces numerous special packages for the new advanced martial arts class, adding more color and complexity to the way the Glaivier class is going to further slice and dice a clear path through every battlefield in months to come. The Glaivier special packages celebrate the launch of this illustrious new class and contain the following:

The Graceful Monkey skin set includes skins for armor and weapons

  • The Radiant Golden Cloud mount
  • The illustrious title of Spearbearer
  • The new Blazing Spear weapon skin

The new Glaivier special packages can be yours for no more than 3,700 Royal Crystals. You’ll also be able to trade with both the Graceful Monkey skin set and the Radiant Golden Cloud mount, as they’ll arrive unbound. But the title of Spearbearer and the Blazing Spear skin for your weapon will be bound to the roster.

The Glaivier class has recently joined Lost Ark to become the fifth martial arts advanced class in the game, taking its place amongst other noteworthy classes such as the Wardancer, Striker, Soulfist, and Scrapper. We’re seeing a change in the attention to detail paid to the future content and possible classes in that even the base skins of the Glaivier class are clearly distinguishable as hailing from a single culture.

In classes past, especially the Warrior classes, we’ve been more used to seeing an amalgamation of various cultures. The new loot for the Glaivier class further distinguishes the new class from the rest, and it’s refreshing to see this kind of attention to detail from a company that already puts an incredible amount of effort and forethought into its content.

In case you missed it, Lost Ark had a bit of an issue previously with commerce issues. A crucial update for the commerce issues was released on the 17th of February, with a full list of patch notes. If you missed the patch notes and want to differentiate between what’s new in the April update and the prior update, here are the February 17th Lost Ark patch notes!

Lost Ark: F2P guide and tips

This Lost Ark F2P guide is easy to follow if you don’t want to end up in a “pay to win” scenario. All you have to do is apply the right strategy – just like the in-game combat. The highly stylized MMORPG is one part beat ‘em up, one part Diablo, and all over-the-top.

While the game is free-to-play, it can feel super grindy and exclusionary like other similar games. But in reality, the game gives players lots of ways to accrue in-game currency, get unique pets and cosmetics, and look overpowered as heck for end-game content.

Here are 9 tips for your Lost Ark F2P guide.

Lost Ark mage class character

You can respec characters for free

Let’s start with a basic, but fantastic quality of life tip for the Lost Ark F2P guide: respeccing character skills. Spending skill points doesn’t need to feel like a huge deal in Lost Ark as you can do as much as you want.

However, reskinning your character requires Appearance Customization Tickets. Similarly, you need a Character Name Change Ticket to rename a character. Adopt and experiment with skills all you want, but definitely take your time with appearances and names.

Lost Ark beginning scene

Take advantage of the two free passes

Players earn their first Power Pass by completing the main storyline. Using the first one on another character automatically nets you another Power Pass sent to your inbox. What’s so good about it? Power Passes unlocks an ability called the “Adventurer’s Path” specifically designed to get characters to level 50 quickly.

Not only do you skip cutscenes, but you also become more familiar with the class, performing excellent combos and getting ready for late-game content. At the end of the path, players get end-game level equipment, as well.

Note: Lost Ark doesn’t allow accounts to have more than two Power Passes currently. As with skins and names, be certain that you are using the pass on a character you want to spend a ton of time playing as.

Lost Ark daily quests screen

Do dailies and weekly tasks

Completing quests that reset on a schedule is a critical part of any MMORPG. Everyone familiar with any kind of MMO knows that completing daily quests goes a long way. You can get in-game currency (gold), experience points, and other relevant boons from them. With Lost Ark, this is no different.

However, you’ll need to know when the resets are in order to maximize your advantages.

What is the weekly reset time in Lost Ark?

Lost Ark weekly quests reset at 10 AM UTC on Thursday every week. This time correlates to the following times across the world:

  • Central Europe: 11 AM CT
  • Europe West: 11 AM CT
  • South America: 7 AM
  • US East: 5 AM ET
  • US West: 2 AM PT

What is the daily reset time in Lost Ark?

The daily reset in Lost Ark is at the same time as the weekly reset, but every day instead of just Thursdays. For clarity, here are the times again:

  • Coordinated Universal Time: 10 AM
  • Europe West: 11 AM CT
  • South America: 7 AM
  • US East: 5 AM ET
  • US West: 2 AM PT
Lost Ark how to dismantle items

Do not sell equipment but dismantle it

If you’re looking to make the most in terms of profits in an MMORPG, selling your old gear is never really the best idea. It’s almost always better to melt down the gear to get the materials from it.

With Lost Ark, this is also the case. Players can easily dismantle gear using the hammer icon in your inventory.

Lost Ark how to use Work Energy

Use your work energy for trade skills everyday

As with Guild Wars 2 and other MMORPGs, players have skills they can level up in-game. Lost Ark has the following skills available:

  • Mining
  • Logging
  • Fishing
  • Hunting
  • Excavating

You can only access these after playing the game for a decent amount of time. Moreover, players only get a certain allotment of Work Energy for the day. Leveling these skills is one of the best ways to earn in-game currency.

Lost Ark mount

Activate triports and use mounts

Having active teleportation locations is crucial in any massive online game. For Lost Ark’s Triports, you’ll need to physically activate them by interacting with them to make them work. They do require in-game currency to use, though, so it isn’t always the best option if you’re looking to min/max your Gold usage.

Mounts can be very useful here when traveling distances. In fact, the game provides you with one just after completing the prologue. All of them have different rarities and speeds, so be conscious of that when picking one up.

Lost Ark how to build rapport with NPCs

Build rapport with NPCs for chests

As with games like Dragon Age and Persona, the player can build relationships with NPCs in the game. But instead of just romancing someone, you get prizes and gifts, too. This includes currencies, cards, and useful resources.

Not only can this help you level up faster, but it can help you avoid having to buy more cards which can get costly in the endgame.

Lost Ark F2P Guide combat

Move past low XP mobs

Prioritizing engagements and the use of materials is a no-brainer here. While taking out trash mobs is fun in games like Diablo 3, it can be a bit of waste in Lost Ark. After leveling even a little, it starts to take hundreds of thousands of XP points to level.

Save your combat for mobs that matter and for those that give you more XP. It’s the best way to make your time investment pay off well.

Get free Lost Ark loot with Prime Gaming

Prime Gaming gives away new packs every month from free in-game cosmetics, bundles with multiple items, or even free games. Since Lost Ark only launched in the U.S. thanks to Amazon, it makes sense that players with Amazon Prime accounts get to reap additional benefits with Prime Gaming.

For now, players can pick up one Battle Item Pack with a total of six listed on the webpage. You can get things like a crystalline aura, amethyst shard packs, or battle chests for utility, healing, or offense-based items.

Lost Ark Update: Patch Notes for February 17th Release

Lost Ark made its Western debut last week and hastily ascended to the most-played game on Steam. The launch was, however, not perfect. Server queues in some European regions and a host of other setbacks knocked a dent into Lost Ark’s launch success and made numerous hotfix updates to the game a necessity.

Today, Lost Ark receives its first major update to address various issues not fixed in the hotfix updates, and we have the patch notes:

  • Fixed the Royal Crystal refunds issue where currency can get stuck or remain ‘pending’ while using the exchange.
  • Solved the issue causing Procyon’s compass schedule to show the incorrect time for Adventure Islands.
  • Fixed the issue that prevents the Northern Lawmaker skin applied to any Warrior sub-class from displaying correctly when dyed.
  • Solved the language-translation issue that resulted in emoticons exchanged between players of different languages being displayed as text.
  • Fixed a DX11 issue that caused the UI scale to be offset after fiddling with native resolution settings while in Full-Screen mode.
  • Solved the issue that resulted in the player being booted from the game while playing in the Central European region.
  • Implemented the groundwork for new hosts for the European region called ‘Europe West.’ While the region selection tab for Europe West will be visible after the maintenance downtime, the servers will not be available immediately to players.

The groundwork being laid for the new European servers will take a lot of pressure off the European game grid for Lost Ark and enable more players in these regions to play more comfortably. This means no more ‘Cannot connect due to heavy traffic’ and ‘Error 10027’ notifications.

The server downtime will commence at 07:59 UTC and will last roughly three hours. Therefore, the brave Arkesian warriors will have to wait until 11:00 UTC to play again. Remember that this maintenance period may take longer than expected, and not all the servers are guaranteed to come back at once. Lost Ark developers announce patch for commerce issues

Lost Ark launched in Europe and North America this week, topping the Stream charts and putting many other MMORPG’s to shame with its success. However, it hasn’t all been smooth sailing. The sharpened edge of Smilegate’s newest hack ‘n slash title has hooked on a few tough issues in its first few days. Lost Ark’s developers say they are aware of the issues and are working to resolve them this week.

Numerous issues have been highlighted in the official forums, the most pressing of which involve premium content and the in-game store functionality. While these issues sound worlds apart, according to the development team behind Lost Ark, they stem from the same root problem.

Currently, Lost Ark is experiencing issues with its commerce server. This affects any premium purchases and timed account benefits like Crystalline Auras and causes them to disappear from players’ profiles intermittently. Because the store also functions with the commerce server, issues with said server connecting to the game server also impact the in-game store. This functionality disappears intermittently as well.

The developers say that even though premium content doesn’t currently appear on players’ profiles, it is still entitled to them, and once the issue is resolved, all content will return to its place.

A special client patch is in development at the moment, which will address the issues players have found. Smilegate hopes to include the patch in the next Lost Ark update and that once it is deployed, all the major commerce server-related issues will be a thing of the past.

Smilegate is also addressing the queueing issue in the European market. Lost Ark’s developers say that the European region is currently overwhelmed because of increased player activity in the region, citing limitations with Lost Ark’s architecture as an additional cause. In the same breath, the dev team announced that a new European region would be opened soon, EU West.

Lost Ark is by no means a perfect build, but the development team behind the breakout MMORPG are on the ball, and hopefully, the above issues will be sorted out soon. While you wait for the next patch, check out Lost Ark’s Twitch Drops and how to claim them.

Lost Ark Tops Steam Charts

The long-awaited and anxiously-anticipated release of Lost Ark to the western markets seems to have been well worth it. Lost Ark is, at present, the most popular game on Steam. As of the time of writing, Lost Ark has a total of 508,560 current players and records a peak player count on Steam charts of 1.3 million players so far. This figure also makes it the second most popular game of all time behind PUBG, which hit 3.2 million peak players in 2018.

This roaring success is partly due to the sheer number of players pre-loading the game. Lost Ark racked up 984,111 concurrent players almost instantaneously on its launch day. While this was an impressive feat by anyone’s standards, Lost Ark shattered its own record the following day when it reported 1.325,305 players active simultaneously. This means that on its second day, Lost Ark not only beat Dota 2 and Counter-Strike Global Offensive with concurrent players for the day, but it also beat both games’ all-time records for concurrent players and became the most played game on Steam.

While it seems to be quite a distance from shattering PUBG’s peak player stats, Lost Ark is only on its third day, and it’s, therefore, way too early to tell how popular this game could get. Reporting metrics as it has so early into its career definitely bodes well for the free-to-play MMORPG. The thing that seems to be driving Lost Ark’s popularity, and will hopefully continue to do so, is the World of Warcraft-shaped hole left in gamers’ lives since many feel the aging MMO is close to the end of its existence.

Time alone will tell how widely Lost Ark is adopted and how many WoW players will find solace in Arkesia and the battle against Kazeros. But, if its current stats are anything to go by, Lost Ark is poised to make massive waves in the gaming community. Check out Lost Ark’s Twitch drops.

Rewards drop as Lost Ark hits 1.2 million on Twitch

On its second day released to the European and American gaming community, Lost Ark is already the most popular game on Twitch, with GTA V and Valorant tailing close behind. As of this morning, the Smilegate RPG Inc. MMOARPG is standing on 1.2 Million viewers on Twitch and climbing.

As a testament to how impressive this feat really is, you should note that gamers reached this figure while still downloading, unpacking, or waiting to play the game due to issues on Steam. While some players couldn’t play Lost Ark due to Steam and regional-specific issues, the game’s developers incentivized fans by rewarding them with incredible unlocks when they watched their favorite streamers on Twitch. Presently there are five drops available for twitch viewers:

  • LoLA Starter Item Set
  • Saphia Pet Chest
  • LoLA Helgaia Pet Chest
  • Arkesia Paper Hat Chest
  • LoLA Neugier Gold Mount

To unlock these Lost Ark Twitch Drops, you need to ensure that you activate Twitch Drops on your Lost Ark account. You can do this in a few straightforward steps:

  • Visit the Lost Ark Twitch Drops webpage
  • Sign in with your Twitch account credentials
  • Authorize your account and link it to your Steam account
  • Hit the ‘Activate’ button
  • Drops should be yours within 24 hours of earning them

The easiest way to earn Lost Ark Twitch Drops is by watching four hours of your favorite Lost Ark streams between February 8th and March 1st, 2022.
