SkyShowtime: price increase and new tariff with ads

According to the company, the advertising slot will offer “all the box office hits from SkyShowtime, new and exclusive series, and local original programming.”

SkyShowtime, the European streaming joint venture of Comcast and Paramount Global, will introduce an ad-supported plan in April. The new Standard plan with advertising will be offered alongside its current ad-free tier, which will be renamed Standard Plus.

Prices will vary depending on the market. For example, the advertising slot will cost 4.99 euros in Spain, and the price of the ad-free service will increase from 5.99 euros to 7.99 euros; annual subscription prices will be 39.99 euros with ads and 62.99 euros without ads.

In the Netherlands, the ad-supported tier will be available for 5.99 euros and the price of the ad-free service will increase from 6.99 to 8.99 euros.

What do the new rates and prices of SkyShowtime offer?

According to the company, the advertising slot will offer “all the box office hits from SkyShowtime, new and exclusive series, and great local original programming at a great price.” And it adds that the launch “makes SkyShowtime the first major streaming service to launch an ad-supported plan in all its markets.”

The news of the advertising plan launch comes almost a year after the streaming service finished its releases in European markets and at a time when advertising plans have become a popular way to offer consumers more pricing options. In the industry, they are also considered a way to generate more revenue per user than ad-free services.

What we expect from season 2

It’s a little less epic, but there are new images of some spectacular aerial battles, as well as Covenant plasma shields and swords attacking humans in Reach. And it ends with the original game’s choral music, which never fails to give me goosebumps.

Pablo Schreiber returns to embody Master Chief, John-117, and we hope that most of the original cast will join him as the Chief leads his team of Spartan soldiers to fight against the Covenant.

This is how Paramount explains it: “After a shocking event on a desolate planet, John can’t shake the feeling that his war is about to change and he risks everything to prove what no one else will believe: that the Covenant is preparing to attack humanity’s greatest stronghold”.

As seen in the trailers, the Covenant soon proves him right, and that means he has to find the key to save humanity or destroy it: the Halo.

Will the Super Mario movie be released in Spain?

Super Mario Bros.: The Movie will be released on August 3rd on Peacock, the streaming platform owned by Universal Studios. While it could be inferred that the Super Mario movie would arrive on this platform, given it’s a production of Illumination and Universal, it was only at the beginning of this month when its streaming release was officially confirmed.

However, there is a problem: Peacock is not available in Spain. Up until now, Universal’s streaming platform has not expanded to Spain, and nearly all of its catalog is accessible in Spain through SkyShowtime, the streaming platform of Sky.

Indeed, despite the assumption that Super Mario Bros.: The Movie might be available on SkyShowtime, there is no guarantee of its release in Spain. The Office in the Australian style

The Office brand is getting an Australian version that will air on Amazon’s Prime Video and, most strikingly: we’ll have a female Michael Scott.

Australian comedian and actress Felicity Ward will play Hannah Howard, the CEO of packaging company Flinley Craddick in “The Office Australia.”

In a post-COVID plot twist, Howard receives word from the head office that his branch is closing and the staff will have to work from home. At that point he starts making promises he can’t keep and sets out outlandish schemes to keep his “work family” together.

The Australian adaptation is the thirteenth iteration of the series originally created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. Other international adaptations have included France, Canada, Chile, Israel and the Middle East.

Filming on the eight-episode series will begin in Sydney in June. Production is being handled by Prime Video, BBC Studios Australia and New Zealand and Bunya Entertainment. The series will be an Amazon original and will premiere on Prime Video worldwide, excluding the U.S., in 2024.

Many believed that with the launch of SkyShowtime, the series would finally be available, considering that Peacock is part of the platform. However, SkyShowtime has shown that it doesn’t want to rush its premieres. Just like “Twin Peaks” arrived later, “Poker Face” will make its debut in June, taking advantage of the summer season.
