Dune has had several video games throughout history. The latest is Dune: Spice Wars, an excellent RTS that introduces us to the management and exploration of Arrakis, with a much slower pace, similar to that of 4X games. But let’s not fool ourselves. A large part of the audience dreams more of exploring than managing the endless deserts of Arrakis. Something that Dune: Awakening offers us, an open-world action survival MMO that was announced on August 23, 2022, and of which we haven’t heard anything. Until now.

Dune: Awakening has released a new trailer that shows us the gameplay of the game. With giant worms, ornithopter battles, base building options, and exploration of vast deserts, the game promises to be a very faithful adaptation to the concept of the book and the movies. In addition, for those who find the trailer too short, they have released an extended version of it, where they go into more details about the game’s design. With the developers commenting on some very interesting details.

The only somewhat questionable thing about the trailer is that, despite being a survival game, very little is shown about this aspect of the game. Although it is expected that they will dedicate a separate trailer to it in the future, it is still somewhat disappointing not to have seen anything about it. Especially considering how well games of this genre have been performing in recent months.

Dune: Awakening does not have a release date yet, but it will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. Although after this trailer, it is expected that the announcement of the date will not take long to arrive.
