Less than a month remains for one of the biggest video game events. Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is just around the corner and Bandai Namco has stepped up its marketing campaign. Something that has given us a new trailer, which perhaps is not what many people expected.
On May 22nd, Bandai Namco released a trailer for Shadow of the Erdtree, the expansion of Elden Ring. Presented as a narrative trailer, it delves into new enemies, old allies, and a series of circumstances that will invite us to fight alongside former rivals. But if after watching the trailer you’re still confused and don’t understand anything, we’re here to tell you what this story reveals.
In this new trailer for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, we can see how Miquella has sacrificed herself for the sake of a new land, tyrannized by an imposing new demigod: Mesmer The Impaler. With a whole army at his disposal, several followers of Miquella will come together to fight against what their lord could not stop. And that’s where our character comes in. We understand that we will have to join Miquella’s disciples to fight against Mesmer for the liberation of this new region.
All of this aligns with the information we already know about the expansion. Named The Land of Shadows, it will have a size approximately the same as the game’s first region, as we follow in the footsteps of Miquella. Literally. Because to access this new area we will have to enter the egg where she sleeps in the Palace of Mohgwyn. A high-level challenge that suggests this expansion is aimed at veteran players.
For those expecting to see some of that, they will be disappointed with this trailer. Throughout this footage, they haven’t shown anything of the new gameplay, which can be disappointing for some players. But since you only have to wait until June 21st to be able to try it out, when it releases for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PC, we won’t have to wait long to enjoy it.
