The popular game ‘High on Life‘ has made a significant leap by landing on the new Nintendo Switch 2. Developed by Squanch Games, this title had already debuted on the original Switch in early 2022, although it received reviews that considered it entertaining but with its limitations.
A different experience from the High on Life you know
One of the most notable new features in this version for the Switch 2 is the addition of mouse controls through the Joy-Con 2, allowing players who prefer the precision of a mouse to enjoy shooting mechanics similar to those on PC. Additionally, visual effects and texture quality have been optimized, as well as the frame rate, reaching up to 30 FPS and a resolution of 1080p while docked.
For those who already own ‘High on Life’ on the original Switch, the good news is that they will be able to upgrade the game for free when acquiring the new console. So if you want to take advantage of the enhanced capabilities of the Switch 2, this is a great opportunity.
Despite its not entirely favorable critical reception, ‘High on Life’ has found its place in the hearts of many players. Additionally, a sequel to the game has been announced, scheduled for February 13, 2026, which will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, although there is currently no confirmation regarding its release for the Switch or Switch 2.
