The recent Nintendo presentation had a major highlight: the remake of Ocarina of Time, which may be the first game that the producer has developed directly for Switch 2 (and it shows in its spectacular textures). However, despite the fact that gems like Star Fox or the new Pokémon will be released in the future, I am quite clear that the game I will spend hours and hours glued to the screen with is the most unexpected one, and that will also be released for the first Switch: Rhythm Heaven Groove. You can already see it, […]
I discovered the Rhythm saga on the Nintendo DS, with the incredible Rhythm Paradise, a new version of the game that already appeared for Game Boy Advance and required you to press at the right moment of a song to pass through the various musical levels one by one.
You need to have, indeed, an iron hand, nerves of steel, and rhythm in your veins, because it is more complicated than it seems. There was one more version for Wii before a compilation for 3DS, and now, finally, 11 years after the last time we heard from the saga, it returns with 110 new minigames: 80 to play solo and 30 in company. And yes, there is nothing I have been looking forward to more than this.
Imagine a Wario Ware but exclusively musical: if it sounds like something you want to play at all costs, you can’t miss the game that will be released on July 2. Yes, on the contrary, if you think it will be a true nightmare that is nothing like what you usually try, it’s better not to hurt yourself. You just have to know that we won’t be able to be friends. Because, in addition, this time Nintendo has introduced the novelty of competitive games (seeing who gets closest to the exact moment to press the button), all with the same style and the same type of music, because both Tsunku and Ko Takeuchi are back in action. What can I say, for me it has the same level of importance as announcing Super Mario Galaxy 3. Maybe more.
But wait, because there’s more! In times of games costing 70 euros that will continue to rise over time as we purchase them, Rhythm Heaven Groove will cost only 39.99, both in physical and digital formats, and of course, at that price, it must be in every home. This may be our last chance to see this game, and we might not even know it, just like in 2007 we didn’t realize that Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! 2 would be the last opportunity we had to enjoy this particular saga (which, by the way, is impossible not to miss).
Switch 2 has a long way to go ahead of it, where we will surely see the most well-known Nintendo sagas, from Mario to Zelda, including Kirby, Super Smash Bros, or Pokémon. But if you ask me what I prefer to see, I am very clear: small, independent, fun games, where imagination and fun are the only factors to consider. And if they can also be released for the first Switch, even better. That said, please, can it move up a few weeks so we can start feeling the summer vibe?

There have been numerous rumors in the past weeks about a possible remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and Nintendo confirmed it in the last Nintendo Direct.
Exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2 and with a generic date of 2026, although without a specific date, it will be a remake of the classic Nintendo 64 game that promises to update the game. While we still have many details to learn about it.
A remake we still know nothing about
Because the problem is that, although we were presented with a teaser, it was extremely brief. Presenting us with a modernized and much more realistic graphic style, like the versions of classic games that people make on social media in Unreal Engine 5, we have barely seen Link sleeping and nothing more. Without having seen any gameplay or the graphics in motion, we also cannot assure how the game will look in action.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was originally released in late 1998 for Nintendo 64 as the first 3D game in the franchise. Being an absolute critical and public success, considered one of the best games in historyand accumulating numerous awards for Game of the Year, it is one of the highest-rated games of all time.
Yoshiaki Koizumi, who presented the Direct, has confirmed that we will learn more about the game in the coming weeks. This makes sense considering it is coming out this year and we are already in June. Therefore, we can expect that at any moment they will hold a Nintendo Direct specifically dedicated to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Although we do not know when or how. Exactly the same as with the game itself.

Nintendo has officially confirmed that in the coming months it will release a revised model of the Switch 2 with a removable battery. This model, initially only available in Europe, aims to comply with current European regulations that state that all electronic devices must have replaceable batteries starting February 18, 2027.
A more eco-friendly console
This is a necessary move by Nintendo, as they wouldn’t be able to sell the console any other way, but it’s a bit clumsy. Although the regulation will not come into effect until February of next year, it was approved in 2023, which means that by the time of the Nintendo Switch 2’s release, they were already aware of this regulation and had no reason to release a version of the console without a removable battery in the first place, complicating their production tasks even further.
In this regard, Nintendo has stated that “Nintendo products fully comply with these requirements, and Nintendo fully cooperates with the authorized regional institutions to facilitate the proper collection and environmentally respectful recovery or disposal of its batteries”. Emphasizing that it is among their plans to strictly adhere to European laws.
While there is no concrete news on this yet, it is possible that this will also affect the Joy-Con 2 and the Switch 2 Pro Controller 2. With model numbers BEE-012 and BEE-014 and BEE-008 respectively, and since Nintendo has stated that “for current products whose model numbers start with ‘BEE’, future compliant versions will have unique model numbers and the additional code ‘OSM’ visible on the packaging”, everything points to the fact that these could also have new versions with removable batteries. Therefore, for Europe, it seems that we will soon have a much more eco-friendly Nintendo Switch 2.
James Bond is a mythical character. Ian Flemming’s creation has had a huge impact on popular culture, not without good reason. His elegance, sarcasm, and ability to adapt to the times is absolutely enviable. Also a little frightening. That doesn’t take away from the feeling that someday the times will leave him behind. It can’t be that he can always adapt, take on a new form for a new generation, and still remain appealing. James Bond is a mythical character. Ian Flemming’s creation has had a huge impact on popular culture, and for good reason. His elegance, sarcasm, and ability to adapt to the times is absolutely enviable. Also a little frightening. That doesn’t take away from the feeling that someday the times will leave him behind. It can’t be that he can always adapt, take on a new form for a new generation, and still remain attractive. But at IO Interactive, they seem to believe the opposite and have wanted to prove it with their new game, 007: First Light.
A different James Bond
The biggest peculiarity of 007: First Light is that it presents us with a James Bond before he becomes 007.His first mission is not even as a spy. As a soldier in the British Army, he accidentally gets involved in a MI6 mission and decides to follow (and of course, disobey) orders when he finds himself in a situation that overwhelms both him and his future superiors. This will ultimately lead him on the journey that this game represents: his training, his first missions, and the discovery of a great conspiracy that will earn him the title, officially, of 00.
Because the charm of this game is that it is James Bond, but not exactly. The 00 program no longer exists and is being revived, James Bond is not yet the suave badass we know and everything has a more youthful and straightforward touch. A bit John Wick, a bit young adult, almost like a version of James Bond from the famous 90s series The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones.
Also, it is a game by IO Interactive, the people behind the excellent Hitman games. This translates to the fact that a good part of our missions will require us to know how to infiltrate, remain unnoticed, and gather information. However, since we are not a 00 agent, without a license to kill. This means that although it resembles Hitman in structure and form in its missions, the absence of assassinations gives it its own personality: it feels like a methodical spy job.
Because the most surprising thing is that it also has a more dynamic component. As if it were a Naughty Dogs game, like Uncharted or The Last of Us, sometimes things get out of hand and give us a license to kill. In those cases, shootouts, chases, and set pieces of things exploding and collapsing follow one after another, and the game is a pure spectacle of adrenaline. But especially regarding combat, IO Interactive’s work is nothing short of excellent. Their shootouts are exquisite, and their fistfights are fantastic, even able to give one or two lessons on the subject to Sony’s most beloved internal studio.
But he is still James Bond
That doesn’t mean it doesn’t still have everything we expect from a James Bond story. All the classic characters from his stories are present. M, Q, and Miss Moneypenny make their appearance, although they do so in a way that is different from what we are used to. They have a different and more contemporary role.
The entire Q team also appears, with whom we will have to work closely, because an important part of the game involves James Bond’s gadgets. Having to choose between two and three before each mission, what we can do will also depend on what we decide to equip ourselves with. A poison dart is not the same as a blinding laser that can also be used to break locks and chains, just as a pen that launches explosives is different. And in those decisions, not only the kind of James Bond we want to be is defined, but also how much of a James Bond this game is: it is impossible to progress without resorting to our gadgets.
In addition to our charm. Because he is still James Bond and part of what we can do is to come out on top by lending an ear to the people we meet. Although that will spend a series of action points that we will only recover by successfully taking actions, so it will only be a last resort for the trickiest situations.
But that is the charm of 007 First Light. It wants us to feel like James Bond. Also in wearing a Rolex, driving an Aston Martin, and getting out of a situation that isn’t going as we planned by pulling off a tremendous bluff, but it works. Because that is part of the character’s identity. Of what he is. And IO Interactive understands this and manages to implement it brilliantly with a few masterful strokes.
Just a contemporary James Bond
In the end, the charm of this James Bond is that he is not the James Bond of our parents and grandparents. He is a millennial James Bond, irreverent and completely contemporary. He still has the traits typical of the character, but he also has other different aspects: he has his own personality.
This helps that the story is set in the present. It focuses on the dangers of AI, the need for the human touch, and how people cannot be replaced by machines in truly important matters. That no machine can or should make decisions for a person. Because it makes it feel like it speaks to us and does so in elegant, simple, and interesting terms. As movies and books about James Bond used to do.
With a planned release on May 27 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and a release in the third quarter of the year for Switch 2, 007 First Light is one of the most interesting releases of the year. A proposal that offers us a different, yet very current, James Bond that could captivate the audience in ways they do not expect. If they give it the chance.

Their presentation has caused a huge stir and fans can’t wait to get more details about the game, something that The Pokémon Company is aware of. This is why they are dropping everything in drips. This time, letting us hear for the first time the main song of the game complete with a behind-the-scenes video of its recording.
The video allows us not only to listen to the complete song in an impressive orchestral version performed by the NHK Symphony Orchestra, but also to hear a complete version of it for the first time. Something that will delight fans who have not yet been able to hear it in full. Until now. This suggests that The Pokémon Company is already ready to start revealing some details about the game.
A game with few details (for now)
Pokémon Wind and Pokémon Wave will be released in 2027 exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2. Beyond that, we know that the game is set in a tropical region made up of numerous waters, which will have underwater areas that we will need to explore and will have, as usual, three starter Pokémon. Their names are Bowl, a grass type; Pombon, a fire type; and Gecqua, a water type.
To learn more details, we will still have to wait. But we can do so by listening to this wonderful symphonic version of its main theme. Something that will surely make the wait feel shorter.
Takaya Imamura, the original creator of Star Fox, has stated that he prefers the designs of Fox in the Super Mario Galaxy movie over those in the new video game of the franchise. Not capturing the charm of the original designs.
A man of fluctuating or complex opinions
This does not prevent him from declaring that he is tremendously proud that they are making a remake of his game, even thanking Miyamoto himself for it. But regarding the designs, it seems he is among those who think they are not as good as they could be. Stating that “I guess this is what happens when I’m not supervising… or something along those lines. I think the concept is fine”, he does not fall into the category of those who hate the designs, but he has not shown much enthusiasm about them either.
Or so we thought. After his statements became news over the weekend, Imamura himself has come out to assert that “the character design of Star Fox on Switch 2 is exactly as I imagined it in my head in Star Fox 64”. This seems to contradict his previous statements.
From this point on, there are several possible interpretations of why this change in tone occurred. It is possible that someone at Nintendo scolded him and he had to come out to defend the designs, that nuances were lost in translation or in his expression of what he wanted to say, or simply that he finds the version of the movie cuter and they should have used that instead of the one he had in mind during the development of the original game.
What is clear is that the game is not leaving fans indifferent. Not even its original designer. But to know if the designs are good or not, we will still have to wait until next June 25, which is when Star Fox is released exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2.

This game moves away from traditional platforming adventures, introducing an innovative approach with a discovery system that allows players to explore richly detailed environments and complete specific missions, instead of following linear levels.
The hungriest dinosaur
During a recent presentation at Nintendo’s offices in Madrid, the originality of the game was highlighted, developed by Good-Feel, known for other Yoshi titles such as Yoshi’s Wooly World and Yoshi’s Crafted World. At first glance, players may recognize the classic Yoshi gameplay, but the real novelty lies in the design of its levels, where each mission is presented as a unique discovery within an enchanted book called Professor Leo.
The game will be accessible to everyone, as Yoshi cannot die, allowing players to enjoy the puzzles and interactions with various characters without the typical pressures of action games. Each scene is filled with secrets to discover, and the missions will vary from taking a Shy Guy to a specific location to interacting with other characters to unlock new gameplay mechanics.
Visually, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book will adopt an appealing style that simulates a storybook, with colorful animations and great fluidity. This artistic approach is complemented by 2D (or 2.5D) gameplay, offering an immersive experience that promises to capture the attention of both young and adult players alike. With its release scheduled for May 21, this title presents itself as a fresh and exciting proposal for the platform, reaffirming Nintendo’s commitment to innovation in video game design.
The Nintendo Switch 2 has achieved an unprecedented milestone by selling 4.4 million units in just seven months, establishing itself as the best-selling console in U.S. history. This impressive performance not only sets a new record but also surpasses the sales speed of the PlayStation 4 by 35% in the same time period, placing it in a privileged position in the current video game market. The Nintendo Switch 2has achieved an unprecedented milestone by selling 4.4 million units in just seven months, establishing itself as the best-selling console in U.S. history. This impressive performance not only sets a new record but also surpasses the sales speed of the PlayStation 4 by 35% in the same time frame, placing it in a privileged position in the current video game market.
A success like no other
Despite these outstanding numbers, it is important to mention that the Game Boy Advance, launched in 2001, remains the fastest-selling console, reaching 500,000 units in just 10 days. According to industry analyst Mat Piscatella, the Switch 2 took about a month to sell 1.6 million units, a figure that is undoubtedly impressive, but pales in comparison to the launch of Nintendo’s handheld device.
The success of the Nintendo Switch 2 is reflected in its installed base, which is almost double that of the original console, and it is capturing the attention of gamers in an increasingly competitive market. The PlayStation 5 ranks second in sales behind the Switch 2, while Xbox sales have dropped by approximately 50% in 2025, highlighting the challenge Microsoft faces in the sector.
In an additional announcement, Nintendo has revealed that it will launch Super Mario Bros. Wonder’s Switch 2 Edition in March. This new title will include local and online co-op modes, as well as additional characters, such as Rosalina and Luma. With the support of this new content, Nintendo is positioning its console not only as the best-selling one but also as the most innovative in terms of game offerings.

This new title has been highlighted at The Game Awards 2025, where it has received the award for Best Family Game and is competing for Game of the Year, reflecting its success and popularity in the gaming community.
Weapons in Nintendo is not something you can do
Shigeru Miyamoto, the renowned creator of Super Mario and project supervisor at Nintendo, has been instrumental in the development of the company’s major franchises. A notable anecdote from his career dates back to the development of Donkey Kong 64, where he was surprised to discover a realistic firearm in the game. In response to this situation, Miyamoto did not hesitate to redesign it, resulting in the iconic ‘Coconut Gun’, a weapon that shoots coconuts, thus aligning with the light-hearted and friendly tone that characterizes the series. This intervention is a testament to Miyamoto’s ingenuity and his commitment to maintaining the family-friendly essence in Nintendo games.
The link between Donkey Kong and family games has remained strong over the years, and the latest installment is no exception. Donkey Kong: Bananza offers colorful settings, destructible platforms, and entertaining challenges, with a narrative featuring DK and Pauline as humorous protagonists. The combination of these elements has not only proven appealing to new generations but has also resonated with long-time fans of the franchise, securing its place as a standout title in the world of video games.

This re-release includes all three DLC expansions: Dawnguard, Dragonborn, and Hearthfire, as well as exclusive Nintendo content, and significant performance improvements, including faster load times and enhanced resolution.
Skyrim does not dance ska
Despite having been over 14 years since its original release, Skyrim continues to capture the attention and enthusiasm of players, especially with the arrival of this new version. Bethesda has shown that the game still has lasting appeal, while the community eagerly awaits any news about The Elder Scrolls 6. The company has reaffirmed its confidence in Skyrim, stating that it can compete with prominent titles like Call of Duty.
This release comes in the form of a surprising “shadowdrop,” which means that players did not have to wait to dive back into the vast world of Tamriel. For those who do not have the Anniversary edition of Switch 1, Bethesda offers the option to purchase an upgrade from the base edition. The Switch 2 version also includes hundreds of unique Creation Club items, ranging from new armors and weapons to additional quests and dungeons.
With this latest release, Bethesda has found another opportunity to revive its iconic franchise, while the debate over how many versions of Skyrim exist continues. However, this release has managed to ignite the interest of Switch 2 users, who seem to have no intention of leaving their journey through Skyrim behind, even amid the prolonged wait for a sequel. With the popularity of the RPG intact and a game director like Todd Howard at the helm, Skyrim’s legacy will surely endure for much longer.
