The latest update for Lethal Company, a multiplayer horror game that has captured the community’s attention, was released in December 2024. However, its creator, known as Zeekerss, has revealed that he is in the process of developing a new patch. This recent motivation has arisen after playing Repo, another independent multiplayer horror game, which has led Zeekerss to rethink some mechanics for his own title.
New content in preparation for Lethal Company
In a recent message shared on Patreon, Zeekerss noted that he has been enjoying Repo with friends and that one of the most interesting aspects of the game is the need for multiple players to transport large objects, which adds a layer of strategy and collaboration. However, he also mentioned some complaints about the game’s latency, which makes it difficult for non-host players to use melee weapons.
Among the improvements it has considered, Zeekerss suggests implementing a feature where players can drive a truck between different areas of the game, instead of simply waiting on a loading screen. This idea includes the possibility of picking up furniture and transporting it in the truck, which could enhance the gaming experience and strengthen interaction between players.
Zeekerss has stated that playing Repo has inspired him and he has begun working on version V70 of Lethal Company, writing a document that outlines his basic vision for the future of the game. However, he warns that new content will not be available in the short term, suggesting that fans will have to wait some time before receiving significant updates.
The Lethal Company community may be excited about what is coming, although it is important to remember that, according to Zeekerss, the development of these new ideas will take time.

The phenomenon of cooperative terror in video games continues to gain momentum, and one of the recent protagonists is R.E.P.O. (The Retrieve, Extract, and Profit Operation), which has caused a sensation on Steam since its early access launch on February 26. With over 28,000 user reviews and an “Extremely Positive” rating on the platform, the game has managed to capture the attention even of the creator of Lethal Company, a title that also made its mark in the genre two years ago.
R.E.P.O. is a game that is taking the players by storm
R.E.P.O. offers a multiplayer experience for six players where the mission is to recover physics-simulated objects without alerting terrifying monsters lurking in the dark. A simple scratch of a valuable object can cause a demonic creature to burst into the room and take out one of your teammates, creating a unique and tense approach to gameplay.
The success of the game has been positively commented on by its direct competition. Zeekers, the developer behind Lethal Company, expressed his appreciation on social media, noting that, despite feeling initially slow, it provided fun moments while working together to move a piano in a narrow mansion. However, he also offered suggestions for improvements, such as increasing the range of voice chat and adjusting the level design in open spaces, which do not fit well with the game’s atmosphere.
With its novel blend of cooperation, strategy, and fear tactics, R.E.P.O. has positioned itself as a significant contender in a saturated indie game market, and it is definitely worth keeping an eye on. As the community continues to grow, many players are eager to see what else the future holds for this innovative title.
In a scenario where Steam’s content has been flooded with clones of specific genres, REPO has managed to stand out among them. In a scenario where Steam’s content has been flooded with clones of specific genres, REPO has managed to stand out among them. This game, which revolves around the idea of repossessing objects from unsettling buildings, has outsold Civilization 7 and has received an Extremely Positive rating with nearly 2,000 reviews on the platform. The phenomenon of REPO is partly due to its innovative approach to gameplay mechanics and its peculiar aesthetic.
Like Lethal Company, but with physics
REPO expands the gameplay of the classic Lethal Company, increasing the player limit from four to six. Additionally, it incorporates striking physics in its design, allowing players to lift objects of different weights through a telekinetic ray. This mechanic promotes cooperation among players, who can even lift each other to access new areas, adding a comedic element to the experience, as seen in the trailer showing a player being submerged in a toilet.
Another novelty is the hiding mechanics from the monsters lurking in the game. When a player is spotted, they can try to hide by compacting themselves to sneak under tables and other obstacles, which intensifies the tension and survival strategy in the game.
Currently in early access, REPO features three worlds and 19 enemies, as well as 29 equipment items and eight upgrades for players. Its release is scheduled between six and twelve months for the final version. The game is available for the price of 9.75 euros, with a launch discount of 20%. This release has generated great interest among the gaming community, and the developers have expressed their intention to work alongside the community to refine the game during its early access phase.
The latest big hit from Steam invites us to play as Lethal Company, but instead of gathering materials, we have to record videos for YouTube.
The video game is one of the few mediums where it is possible to have a great success that appears out of nowhere. In 2024 we already have two, with Palworld and Helldivers 2, and if we extend a little further, to the last months of 2023, we could say that Lethal Company was even greater than these two. The reasons why they have become popular seem tremendously disparate from each other. At first, there doesn’t seem to be any common pattern. Although many people wouldn’t say the same about the new game that has exploded in popularity.
Content Warning is the new big hit on Steam. While its peak player count is not as impressive as these other three games, currently standing at 204,439 players, what is impressive is the number of downloads it has garnered, reaching 6.2 million in less than 48 hours. This makes it the fifth best-selling game on Steam, and the most popular new game on the platform.
If you’re wondering if there’s a catch, the reality is that there is. Content Warning was announced and officially launched for pre-order on April Fool’s Day, April 1st, allowing it to be downloaded for free until the afternoon of the following day, April 2nd, shortly after its release.
While that has helped increase their numbers, it doesn’t mean that their success is solely due to that. To start with, in the last twenty-four hours, they have almost tripled the number of followers on Steam. In addition, their peak player count was just before their official release, but they have maintained steady numbers with a slight growth curve. This, combined with a growing presence on Twitch, suggests that it won’t be just a one-day curiosity. Even if it were, it would be impressive to achieve these numbers for an independent company.
Talking about the game itself, its premise is very simple. Just like in Lethal Company, we have to get on a rocket to go to alien lands and investigate sinister and dangerous abandoned industrial places. Unlike Lethal Company, here we are not looking for resources, but something much more mundane: recording videos for Youtube.
Although the foundation will be familiar to Lethal Company players, as the purchase and resource management is practically identical, it is very different in terms of the main game mechanics. Here the important thing is to record things that are scary while trying not to die and give the whole thing the feeling of being a cohesive video. We have a limit for the camera, the batteries of our flashlights run out, and the building we are investigating is full of monsters and deadly traps. Monsters and deadly traps with which we will have to interact, risking our lives, if we want to be popular on Youtube.
The beauty of this is that the game quickly becomes a mix of horror and comedy. By having to work together, it’s easy to go from laughing while recording and fooling around, to the tension of some of the game’s most sinister creatures or artifacts. Including the possibility of losing the camera and having to go back and find it, or the very likely circumstance of getting lost and finding ourselves alone in a labyrinthine place.
Where Lethal Company emphasizes terror and makes comedy come from the players’ own actions, in Content Warning the premise itself is comedic, and the designs themselves invite it. The house where we start is colorful and childish, our animations are silly, and everything in the game invites us to do what many people want to see on the Internet: people clowning around. This is reinforced when, if we manage to survive, we can save the video we recorded during the game on our computer.
Content Warning has caught attention for being a clone of Lethal Company and has had an advantage for being free, but if it hasn’t lost impact after the first few hours, it’s because it’s genuinely fun and different. An excellent mix of comedy and horror, which practically demands playing with friends, but will delight those who consider Lethal Company to be perhaps too dark and methodical for them.
Lethal Company has an arachnophobia mode and it is as simple as it is hilarious, thanks to the fact that it makes a change that you can’t even imagine
We’re aware that spiders are a very popular enemy in the game. They’re sinister, move in a scary way, and in general, they create a perfect blend of something familiar and something strange to make the player uncomfortable. Few predators seem as alien without being totally incomprehensible as spiders. The issue is that a lot of people have a phobia of them. That’s why many games have reasonably decided to introduce arachnophobia modes for those who have this condition.
The latest game to do this is Lethal Company. This sensation in the gaming world, where you embody a group of space workers scavenging scrap from abandoned industrialized moons with up to three friends, comes with a surprise. There’s a monster that chases and attacks us with an undeniably spider-like appearance. However, its developer, Zeekerss, wanted to address this with an arachnophobia mode. But since the game is not just survival horror but also comedy, they considered that people are here not just to get scared but also to have a good laugh.
Typically, arachnophobia modes change the modeling of spiders to something different, making them look less like spiders or not spiders at all, aiming to help players avoid facing something they might not be equipped to handle. But what Zeekerss did was seize the opportunity to do something in line with the game’s comedic tone. The arachnophobia mode replaces the spider models with the word SPIDER.
This has caused quite a stir on social media. Ultimately, there’s something hilariously absurd about being violently attacked by the word “spider.” Undoubtedly, this solution addresses arachnophobia without ever breaking the game’s comedic tone.
