After months of receiving “Overwhelmingly Negative” reviews on Steam, it seems that Monster Hunter Wilds has managed to climb to a “Mostly Negative” status in its recent reviews. However, the road to improvement remains long, especially regarding the PC version of the game.
An absolute disaster in the technical aspect
Since February, fans have been asking Capcom to fix the performance issues related to the PC version. Despite the developers releasing several patches, many of the inconveniences persist. Although a significant update was implemented at the end of June, it was not enough to change the overall perception of all players.
The Steam page for Monster Hunter Wilds reflects a slight improvement in reviews, but it can still be observed that many players remain critical of the performance on PC. One user reported that the game “starts well, but the screen is completely black during cutscenes,” indicating that there are serious issues affecting the gaming experience. Another comment, more sarcastic, suggests that now would be “a good time to play Monster Hunter World instead,” which shows a negative comparison with its predecessor.
Despite these criticisms, there has been an increase in positive reviews, with some players claiming that it is a game in which one can easily invest hundreds of hours, although this depends on whether their PC can run the game properly. A fan expressed that “Monster Hunter Wilds deserves better reviews,” describing it as “incredible.” As the comments become more mixed, there are hopes that future updates will improve the reception of the game and lead it to receive “Mixed” or even “Positive” reviews.
