If you were still playing ‘Rocket Arena’, EA has bad news for you

To give us an idea, its maximum in the last thirty days was… six. And since October 2020 it has not exceeded one hundred players. Come on, it’s a non-game.

On July 14, 2020, Electronic Arts released ‘Rocket Arena’ to the market, an online shooter that aimed to capitalize on the success of many previous games… but it didn’t quite find its audience. Which is, indeed, a euphemism used to indicate that a game has been an absolute failure. And, like all failures, it now reaches its inevitable end.

Like a rocket (that doesn’t work)

The first title from Final Strike Games, who later worked on various tasks in Fortnite, had at its peak over 1000 players (specifically 1136) on Steam. To give you an idea, its peak in the last thirty days was… six. And since October 2020, it hasn’t exceeded one hundred players. So, it’s a non-game.

That’s why, after finishing the updates with season 4 in September 2021, EA has decided that it’s time to shut down the servers. The key date will be March 21, 2024, when, after almost four years of gameplay, ‘Rocket Arena’ will stop working. In fact, if you want to buy it right now, it’s impossible, and it has been like that since November 23 without anyone caring too much.

To encourage more than six people to play in this closing, the obtained experience will increase and the rewards from the first seasons will be accessible once again. However, this is like trying to resurrect a zombie: it doesn’t make sense, it won’t set any example, and it will remain dead. Rest in peace, ‘Rocket Arena’. Even more in peace, I mean.
