There is so much discontent with this RPG that modders have taken very little time to get to work

The highly anticipated action RPG, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, released on July 24, 2025, has had a rocky start, despite recording high numbers of concurrent players on Steam. Since its launch, the community has expressed its dissatisfaction through negative reviews, largely due to performance issues and technical glitches that have disrupted the gaming experience. In light of this situation, the developers at Leenzee Games have committed to releasing patches to address the inconveniences, which they themselves have acknowledged as problems that should never have occurred.

Trying to fix the errors

In response to player frustration, the community has taken the initiative, developing modifications (mods) aimed at improving game performance. In just four days, the most popular mod, created by user P40L0X, has been downloaded over 23,000 times. This modification focuses on reducing stuttering and latency, as well as fixing other technical issues, allowing many players to enjoy the title in a more stable and smooth manner.

For its part, Leenzee Games has released an update that introduces a manual low-latency mode and improves VRAM optimization for graphics cards of different capacities. These changes have helped reduce crashes and improve game stability, but the team continues to work on resolving all issues. The current situation has sparked a debate among players about the effectiveness of patches compared to the solutions offered by the modding community.

As the community continues to support Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, hope persists that the developers will manage to stabilize the game and meet the expectations of the fans, who have been eager for a completely satisfying experience.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is no longer an absolute disaster: an emergency patch makes it playable on PC

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is no longer an absolute disaster: an emergency patch makes it playable on PC

The game Wuchang: Fallen Feathers has significantly improved its rating on Steam, moving from an ‘Extremely Negative’ state to ‘Mixed’, with 40% of reviews being positive. This recovery comes after the implementation of an emergency patch that addressed performance issues that affected its initial launch, allowing Wuchang to break free from a cycle of overwhelmingly negative reviews.

A game whose performance on PC was terrible

Developer Leenzee issued a public apology on July 28, acknowledging the inconveniences players experienced and thanking them for their patience. In their message, the team emphasized that every opinion and suggestion from users is a valuable foundation for their upcoming efforts in the game. These statements point to a focus on community feedback, seeking to address criticisms to improve the overall experience.

Additionally, Leenzee plans to offer additional rewards to the owners of the Deluxe Edition, who had difficulties claiming their exclusive items. These players will receive not only a free digital code for the Fallen Feathers soundtrack but also luxury cosmetics and weapons. This compensation strategy seems to be an attempt to regain the trust of the player base.

Future updates will also include performance improvements and adjustments in various aspects of the game, such as difficulty levels and boss encounters. This intention of adaptation resonates with the nature of the game, which is described as a Soulslike that merges elements of Sekiro and Dark Souls 3, attracting fans of FromSoftware titles.

With these changes, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers seems to be on a path to redemption, improving not only its image on digital platforms but also the experience of its player community.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, the highly anticipated action RPG developed by the Leenzee studio, has had a problematic start since its release. Set in a dark and appealing universe, the title has received severe criticism, with only 21% of positive reviews on Steam, based on more than 8,000 user opinions. Most comments focus on the serious performance issues, which affect even those players with systems that meet the recommended requirements.

Can a patch fix all this?

Players have experienced poor performance, with frequent complaints about lag and drops in frame rate. One user expressed their frustration, pointing out that despite not having played many hours, the performance of Wuchang is abysmal. Another shared their opinion on Unreal Engine 5, emphasizing that games developed on this platform can be a hit or a miss, and in this case, unfortunately, it is a miss. Both players called on the developers to release performance patches.

Despite the criticism, interest in Wuchang remains high. According to SteamDB records, the title has reached an impressive peak of 131,518 concurrent players, suggesting that there are a large number of people willing to delve into its dark world. However, uncertainty persists about whether performance issues will affect the gaming experience during its first weekend.

For now, the developers of Leenzee are working on solutions, and many in the community are waiting for these patches to be implemented to improve gameplay. The combination of expectations and disappointments at the launch of Wuchang highlights the thin line that exists between hype and reality in the video game industry.

Here’s how you can watch the Xbox Partner Preview on October 17: these are the games we expect

For some time now, Microsoft has decided that their communication strategy will be one of saturation. By holding as many events as possible, they aim to showcase all the games they have in the pipeline, both announced and unannounced, whenever possible. It’s a strategy that remains to be seen if it will bear fruit, with specific games that we can sink our teeth into, but it already has a new outcome. For some time now, Microsoft has decided that their communication strategy will be one of saturation. By holding as many events as possible, they aim to showcase all the games they have in the pipeline, both announced and unannounced. It remains to be seen if this strategy will bear fruit, with specific games we can sink our teeth into, but it already has a new outcome.

Microsoft has announced that they will hold an Xbox Partner Preview next Thursday, October 17th at 10:00am PST Broadcasting on both Twitch and YouTube, it will last 25 minutes and they have already announced three of the games they will discuss. Here we will see The Lake House, the second and final DLC of Alan Wake II; Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, the spinoff of the Yakuza saga where we will play as Majima; and Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, a soulslike from China that will arrive on Xbox consoles, PC, and Game Pass.

This will not be the only thing they present during this small event. Because while we know for sure that we will not have news of any new game from Microsoft itself, we can expect new news from other companies associated with the company. Which is where we can expect interesting things.

What can we expect to see? We will probably see something from Bandai Namco, which has just rated a Death Note game for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 in Taiwan, named Death Note: Killer Within, about which we know nothing. We should also not rule out that they might show the new game from MAGES., who are developing a new game in their Science Adventures franchise, and today they have celebrated the fifteenth anniversary of their Steins;Gate series by announcing that it will continue in the future. This is not to mention everything that is not even announced or might appear to be related to the company.

That’s why, even if you don’t have an Xbox console, we recommend you don’t miss this event. Things will appear that will have repercussions also on PC and, very likely, the PlayStation ecosystem and, just with what has already been announced, it already promises to be very interesting. So stay tuned because, in a couple of days, Xbox will show us what their partners have up their sleeves.
