By now, I think there is no doubt that everyone involved in FromSoftware games is as passionate about them as the players themselves. The proof of this is that their DLC, ‘Shadow of the Erdtree’, is an extremely long and full of secrets adventure when many other developers would have released a five-hour story just to make money and fulfill. But what we didn’t expect to see is that even the author of the most secondary spin-off of the game was an absolute devotee.

We present to you Nikiichi Nobita, the author of the ‘Elden Ring’ manga, an expansion of the video game’s story that is published for free in 12 different languages (although you can also religiously buy the volumes, of course). Clearly, its publication is a nearly perfect business move by Kadokawa, the “mother” of FromSoftware.
Every 19th day, a new episode has been published for years in a religious manner, but Nobita has announced on Twitter that after number 45, he will go on a forced hiatus… to be able to play the DLC. Fans are already speculating that this means the new character introduced in ‘Shadow of the Erdtree’ will make an appearance in the manga, just like multiple cameos have been made throughout the chapters…
But the intuition is that, simply, he is just another fan of the video game and, with the excuse of needing to do research, he is going to spend a few weeks glued to the console controller. Let’s see who could refuse this job, the one of our dreams.
What you may not expect – especially for being an official product of Elden Ring – is that it is a comic manga. In fact, it announces it from page 3, so as not to deceive: there are monsters, there is lore, yes, but there is also pure comedy. No one said that such a serious game cannot be taken lightly!
