Toyota has unveiled its 2026 bZ electric SUV, showcasing a complete overhaul that emphasizes improved style, range, and advanced technology.
This new iteration, now simply called the “bZ,” takes significant strides over its predecessor, the bZ4X, boasting an estimated driving range of 314 miles—a remarkable 25% increase.
The introduction of a North American Charging Standard (NACS) port allows the bZ to utilize Tesla’s extensive Supercharger network, further enhancing its appeal to EV consumers.

The bZ will offer two battery options: a 57.7 kWh variant that delivers up to 236 miles and a larger 74.7 kWh unit projected to reach 314 miles. Charging performance has also been optimized, with the bZ reportedly capable of charging from 10% to 80% in ideal conditions using DC fast charging technology. Enhanced features like Plug & Charge capabilities will simplify the charging process, making it more user-friendly than ever.
Under the hood, AWD models will benefit from increased power, offering up to 338 horsepower thanks to the integration of new SIC semiconductors. Front-wheel-drive variants come in with 221 horsepower, a modest boost from the previous year. Further improvements include a thermal management system that ensures efficient charging, especially in colder climates.
The revamped exterior features Toyota’s new “hammerhead front end,” complemented by slim LED daytime running lights. Inside, the bZ boasts a spacious 14-inch multimedia touchscreen, wireless phone chargers, luxurious heated seating, and the latest Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 technology. Buyers can opt for added features in the Limited trim, including larger alloy wheels and additional safety enhancements.
The 2026 bZ is expected to be available in dealerships during the second half of 2025, with competitive leasing options for the outgoing bZ4X models now available, enticing customers who may be looking for a reliable electric vehicle.
