Saber Interactive used Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 to confirm that Turok: Origins has slipped to Spring 2027, missing its original Fall 2026 window. The new release timing came with a fresh story trailer during the show, and it covers every announced version of the game: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
That trailer gives a much better sense of the Lost Lands, with a Turok warrior taking on dinosaurs and the alien Xenia. It really leans into the stuff people associate with Turok: primal sci-fi, high-tech weapons, and prehistoric monsters that look built to tear you apart.
The first Turok came out in 1997 and was one of those shooters that left a real mark on the console side of the genre. Saber isn’t framing Turok: Origins as a straight continuation, though. This one’s being handled as a reboot, and from the look of it, the game is trying to bring the series back while reworking it at the same time.
Saber says the campaign can be played solo or in three-player online co-op. Players will also be able to swap between first-person and third-person perspectives and pick archetypes such as Cougar, Bison, and Raven.
The studio also says classic weapons are coming back, including the Cerebral Bore, this time with customization options. Online reaction has been mixed so far, especially around the co-op setup and the third-person emphasis, but early hands-on impressions have sounded more positive.
