Windows 11 24H2 includes HDR wallpaper support, allowing you to use JXR images as your wallpaper. If you use multiple monitors, Windows 11 will adapt the wallpaper for each screen.

A new power saving mode reduces power consumption by reducing system performance to save battery on laptops. Windows 11 24H2 also includes a built-in sudo command designed for developers. Microsoft uses sudo within Windows to allow developers to run elevated tools directly from a non-elevated console session.
The sudo command can be configured in three modes: a new window, with input disabled, and inline. The mode most similar to Linux sudo is inline, while the other modes are more restricted.
Microsoft also adds the ability to create 7-zip and TAR files in File Explorer with this update, along with a scrollable view of the Quick Settings dropdown menu that appears above the taskbar.
The new AI-based voice clarity feature is also part of 24H2, instead of being limited to devices with neural processing unit (NPU) chips. Voice Clarity will eliminate background noise when you are on a call or recording audio.
The latest tweaks of Windows 11 24H2 affect the integrated assistant Copilot. Copilot is now a dedicated button on the right side of the system tray, and now understands more commands to change settings, activate Windows features, and more.
This update also includes all the new AI-based features that Microsoft introduced earlier this week, but you will need a new PC Copilot Plus to use them. The PC Copilot Plus will not be available until June 18, starting at $999.
