Netflix has become Zack Snyder’s best friend. Since the director left the DC Universe, the streaming platform has embraced him, seemingly giving him total freedom to explore his ideas. This is something he has already delved into with the disappointing Rebel Moon movies, and it’s something he will take further with a new animated series that few saw coming: The Twilight of the Gods.
The animated series will be released on Netflix September 19th, and a teaser trailer has just been released, giving a clear indication of its direction. Without a doubt, this series embodies Zack Snyder’s spirit… whether that’s good or as bad as we can imagine.

The Twilight of the Gods presents the wedding between a king and a queen in a small Viking village. During the ceremony, something happens that causes Sigrid, the bride-to-be, who is the daughter of giants, to embark on a wild mission of revenge. She gathers a group of characters (a seer, a dwarf) to form a gang with the mission to find a god and fight him to avenge something he has done.
