The Marvel movie that’s costing the most to raise loses its director again: will it ever come out?

Of all the movies and series by Marvel Studios that have been in the works for years, there’s no doubt that the one that’s taking longest to see the light of day is Blade. The reboot of the saga that’ll now be starring Mahershala Ali has been in production for several years and, despite being scheduled to be released next year, it seems to be at a dead end.

According to The Wrap, Blade just lost its director, Yann Demange, and there’s no other confirmed director to take over the project. What’s more, Demange is not the only director who has jumped ship; before him, Bassam Tariq chose to distance himself from the project.

The second director to leave the project

Currently, Eric Pearson (screenwriter of Black Widow) is writing a new script for the movie, after going through several versions that don’t quite convince the studio. Although we don’t know what’s behind it due to the obvious confidentiality agreements, it seems to be Marvel Studios’ cursed project… we can only wait to see what’ll finally become of it.
