Although it’s uncommon, being able to recover an iPhone easily after a failure is of vital importance. In iOS 27 the system includes a recovery function, similar to the one in macOS, that we can open manually and that lets us fix errors directly from the iPhone itself. Let’s talk about recovery mode.
Access is really simple. We simply turn off the iPhone, wait a minute, and hold down the side button during startup. After the Apple logo we’ll see “Continue holding for recovery…” appear and then “Loading recovery options…”. This is where we release the button and go straight into the system’s new recovery tools.
Once inside we find Recovery Assistant, the option to install a software update, diagnostics, Erase All Content and Settings, and access to the traditional recovery mode. We can repair, update, or diagnose our iPhone from this very screen, automatically connecting to a saved Wi-Fi network.
On newer iPhones, moreover, holding down the side button again shows the Nearby Device Recovery option, which lets us rely on another nearby Apple device to carry out the process.
When we need to restore our iPhone the options are easier to access, and when we have to carry out a diagnostic and recovery process, being able to do it without using a computer makes a big difference. In a few seconds your iPhone will be up and running again.
The rest, seeing the reaction of the moguls, fear for their jobs, so that what happened to Melissa Barrera on Scream 7 doesn’t happen again.
Even Susan Sarandon, who has always been outspoken about her political views, continues to be rejected precisely because of them.
From the river to the sea
You’d think a legend like Sarandon would be spending her golden years choosing her projects, but, all the same, she hasn’t worked on anything particularly high-profile since Blue Beetle.
At 79 she deserves the respect of the whole industry, and not its contempt… although she knows that holding certain views puts her at risk.
“I’ve still been turned down for films recently because there are agencies that ask people not to hire me. But that’s how the power structure works. I feel welcome among ordinary people, and certainly internationally“.
Although she says something has changed in the way people talk and feel about Israel’s genocide in Palestine, because “no one understood how much money the United States gives Israel”, it’s true that the industry keeps putting dissidents under the microscope… even if there are already so many of them that it’s impossible to stop them.
In fact, she says that Andrea Pallaoro, the director of the film premiering in Venice, The Echo Chamber, was told not to hire her, but he did it anyway.
“I’m grateful to him, because he doesn’t always heed warnings. There has been a change among the general public, but there are still people in positions of power in my industry who are Zionists and have never warmed to me. But I’ve found my family and my people and I’m fine”.
The Messages app gets several new features in iOS 27. It gets smarter and adds new settings that let us personalize the app we use for our conversations.Apple has improved the app in almost every area, from integration with Siri to synchronization.
Apple Intelligence understands the conversation better
As for Apple Intelligence, the first thing that stands out among these new features is the contextual suggestions. If someone asks us for a photo, Messages suggests the right images and if we receive an invitation, it offers to add it to Calendar. There are many more examples, like adding a request or piece of information to Reminders, and all of them turn each conversation into action.
Writing with Siri is also coming. We can ask Siri AI to draft or review a message, while smart replies now match our writing style for a specific recipient, to adapt to the context of the conversation.
Faster sending, searching, and syncing
Pending sends are now retried automatically and attachments keep sending when the connection comes back. Synchronization between our devices gets faster.
Search lets us locate conversations by number or nickname and find photos and videos even when they’re only in iCloud and not downloaded on the device. Meanwhile, larger conversations load and scroll much faster.
Genmoji debuts iterative editing in iOS 27, style changes, and more consistent designs. Meanwhile, RCS now allows inline replies and reactions on images and videos in conversations with Android devices. After the improvements to Messages in iOS 18.2, in iOS 27 Messages takes another step forward. A very interesting one.
When Game of Thrones ended, seven years ago now, good old Arya wrapped up her adventures by, setting off on more of them, aboard a ship and looking for new horizons. And, although everyone thought Jon Snow should have his own spin-off, for a while now fans have been wondering what happened to the youngest of the Starks. But for now, no one has told the actress who plays her.
A few days ago news broke that HBO Max was going to continue her adventures with a series set in Essos. Maisie Williams, for her part, found out, like everyone else, through the press. “I saw it too! I was like, ‘Huh?’. I honestly have no idea”. However, she does have some advice for the writers in case they really are making this sequel: she is already 29 years old and no longer a child.
“It’d have to be developed somehow because I’ve changed a lot, and I think that what people loved about Arya was that she was always a child doing adult things”. The only problem is that, quite simply, George RR Martin hasn’t written anything about the future of the youngest Stark and it would be pure fan fiction, but hey, there are some fantastic fanfic stories!
For now, House of the Dragon and A Knight of the Seven Kingdomswill be joined by an Aegon the Conqueror film, and HBO Max will probably start planning something else soon to soften the blow of the end of its first spin-off. In short, there’ll be thrones for a long time yet.
Magic: The Gathering has been in a somewhat strange situation for a while. While it’s hitting record highs, part of its fandom feels tremendously dissatisfied with the direction of the game. Detached from its roots, that part feels it’s no longer the game they fell in love with. With the rise and emphasis on franchises that aren’t its own and putting a huge emphasis on Commander, a casual format created by players, they don’t feel that today’s Magic is exactly Magic.
It would be unfair to dismiss that feeling, because the game has changed a lot and it has done so quickly and not always in step with its players. But the new set is trying, in part, to speak to those players who feel they’ve been gradually left behind. Because Reality Fracture, besides closing the current story arc of Magic, does something very important: it brings back everything that seemed to have been left behind.
Reality Fracture starts from a very simple premise: Jace has decided that he’s tired of having to face cosmic threats and wants to rebuild the multiverse from scratch, but this time without major threats that could destroy it. No Eldrazi or Phyrexians or Nicol Bolas. To do that he decides to fuse different parts of each world in the multiverse to create an ideal version of all of them. Something his former allies and friends will try to prevent, seeing life as they know it at risk. However disastrous it may be.
This means the return of some characters we’ve missed: the planeswalkers. Since the fall of New Phyrexia the planeswalkers have been appearing little by little in each new set, at most one and with greatly reduced power, and that ends here. This set is packed with planeswalkers, including Jace’s triumphant return. Who can also appear in token form because he’s the set’s central figure.
The other important element, and one that will delight the old hands, is that the Preparation mechanic is back. If a creature meets specific conditions it Prepares and, when it does, it can cast a specific spell. Generally, a classic spell from Magic’s history.
Also, Reality Fracture will include a delightful curiosity: echoed pairs. Versions of classic, very well-known cards from Magic’s history, that are now their enemy color. If it used to be red now it’s blue and if it used to be black now it’s white or vice versa, creating an equivalent or opposite effect. This will apply to creatures, spells and planeswalkers alike, so get ready to discover what a white Liliana or a blue Chandra is like, debates that have been coming up on forums for years and that, now, we can finally settle.
A new school of magic emerges
What’s more, Jace not only has the help of inverted-color planeswalkers: he also has a school of magic that is the reverse version of Strixhaven. Made up of five houses, the Konstrari, the Fatehold, the Stingerquill, the Vigorbloom and the Thorix, each has a two-color combination completely different from the ones we saw in Strixhaven. And they stand in direct opposition to those schools. So it wouldn’t be surprising if we ended up seeing their own set in the future.
Beyond that, Reality Fracture has all the usual products for a set like this. Bundles, boosters, commander decks and also, even more importantly, five starter decks for those who want to get into Magic: The Gathering and don’t know where to start.
If you’re curious about Reality Fracture the wait may feel a bit long, because its release date is October 2. But with it being the finale of the current story arc, you can expect not only very interesting cards, but that it will be a full celebration of what Magic: The Gathering is. So all that’s left is to wait patiently and see what this unusual set has in store for us when it finally comes out.
We’re just a few hours away from Apple’s big September event —which we’ll be able to watch live— and the latest rumors keep giving us clues about what we might see. The latest rumor is that Apple has released new firmware, version 4A203, for the still-unreleased Beats 360, a move that makes these headphones another possible surprise at today’s event.
The Beats 360 are practically ready
The Beats 360 have been showing up for months in regulatory filings, stores, and even on the heads of footballers like Lamine Yamal. Now, as MacRumors reports, the arrival of their firmware suggests a timeline: an announcement today. While we already knew a good part of their design and features, this software update brings their official launch much closer.
With a design reminiscent of the AirPods Max and with up to 1.75 times more noise cancellation than the Beats Studio Pro, these headphones in Black, Cloud, Sky, or Pink, with interchangeable ear cushions and headbands, catch the eye.
One of their big draws will be IPX4 water and sweat resistance, and they’ll also have all-day battery life, a foldable design, Siri, and a high-fidelity acoustic platform.
And the timing is ideal, since today we’re also expecting the new AirPods 5, so audio could take center stage. With a leaked price of $299.99, the Beats 360 would fit right into an event packed with announcements.
Valve’s Steam API seems to have exposed private achievement data for more than 50 unreleased games on September 9, 2026. Third-party trackers Exophase and SteamDB picked it up, and the result was a leak: both sites started surfacing unannounced titles that weren’t supposed to be visible yet.
Exophase owner Mike Bendel described it as a “screw up on Valve’s end,” not a hack. Scans run through Exophase and SteamDB pulled backend entries, sometimes only as AppIDs, that users then connected to Avengers, Dune, Sonic, Sea of Thieves, Twin Peaks, and The Walking Dead.
The entries that appeared on Exophase and SteamDB also seem to have affected games that had already been announced, including Kingdom Hearts IV, Persona 6, Fable, Gears of War: E-Day, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, Silent Hill: Townfall, and Squadron 42. Achievement data can give away a lot more than a title card, too: plot beats, locations, mechanics, characters, crossover content, and even Kingdom Hearts worlds nobody had seen before.
If you keep an eye on Steam leaks, this one deserves attention, though some of the names could still be prototypes or working titles. The Avengers connection to a canceled THQ project hasn’t been confirmed, and Balatro creator LocalThunk flatly denied that a supposed sequel or spinoff was real.
Valve hadn’t commented by the time of publication, and most publishers hadn’t either. That leaves some obvious questions hanging, like how long the data was exposed, what changed on the backend, and whether any marketing plans now have to be reworked. Grand Theft Auto 6 didn’t show up, Squadron 42 may be a sign of a Steam release, and the damage here looks tied more to secrecy than to security in the usual sense.
Five months after ChatGPT Images 2.0, OpenAI is once again taking the next step in image generation with ChatGPT Images 2.5. The new version arrives after the unveiling of GPT-6 Astra and improves a tool that was already delivering impressive results. According to OpenAI, every week we create more than 3 billion images across ChatGPT Images and the API’s GPT-Image models. Now these images will be more precise and more realistic.
More natural images and much more reliable edits
Images 2.5 can generate more natural lighting, richer textures and, above all, better preserve the people and objects already present in reference photos. Latency drops by up to 50% compared with Images 2.0, so responses are substantially faster while the system manages to preserve changes better across several edits. We can ask for a specific modification and consistently preserve composition, subject, and style while we evaluate the changes.
Sketch turns a quick drawing into a complete image
On top of that, Images 2.5 adds an interesting feature: Sketch lets us draw directly inside ChatGPT and use that sketch as a guide to create the resulting image. We can sketch a piece of furniture in a room, outline the cut or size of a garment, or simply make a doodle and let Images 2.5 complete the scene.
The new system also supports templates, comments on images, and lets us share our prompts.
Images 2.5 arrives on ChatGPT, ChatGPT Work, and Codex on desktop, mobile, and web starting today. OpenAI is introducing two models for developers, GPT-Image-2.5 Flare and Sunburst: the first prioritizes speed and volume, and the second prioritizes accuracy.
Clearly, a very interesting evolution for turning our ideas into images ever closer to what we really have in mind.
When we think we know everything about today’s event, a last-minute rumor suggests that Apple has a surprise in store for the Apple Watch. The company will unveil Readiness, as far as we know, a new app centered on our daily recovery and on how ready we are to handle a certain level of physical activity. A new feature for the upcoming Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 that, let’s hope, won’t be exclusive to those models.
Readiness will tell us how ready we are
Readiness will be different from the Vitals app we already have, according to Mark Gurman on X. The idea behind the app is to compete more directly with Whoop and Oura by giving us a much clearer reading of our recovery using data from our heart rate, breathing, blood oxygen, wrist temperature, and sleep.
More sensors for a more useful app
We know about the app thanks to the watchOS 27 code (currently in beta), which also includes references to new training features. According to the rumors, the Apple Watch Series 12 could include continuous pulse monitoring, an improvement that would improve the app’s calculations and that, together with more sensors in the next generation of watches, raises a question: will the app be exclusive to the Series 12 and the Ultra 4?
To answer that question, we’ll have to wait for this afternoon’s presentation. In the meantime, everything points to the wait being more than worth it with an app that promises to be truly interesting.
With iOS 27, Apple brings the next evolution of CarPlay. Among the new features are changes to video, Siri AI, and navigation improvements too. With several new features that we’ll also see in iOS 27, CarPlay becomes an even more capable extension of your iPhone.
Video, Siri AI, and a more complete interface
While we’re parked, we can now search for and play videos on the car’s screen. While driving, for safety, playback will automatically switch to audio. In both cases, we can now send content via AirPlay, as long as the manufacturer supports it.
The second new feature is Siri AI, which we can now use through hands-free conversations to handle tasks or look up information while driving. You can then continue those conversations in the Siri app on iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
In iOS 27 CarPlay also debuts a persistent mini-player, a progress bar for songs, podcasts, and audiobooks, 14 new wallpapers, and icons designed for Liquid Glass.
Smarter Maps and a better connection
Apple Maps improves Flyover mode with iOS 27 and gains the ability to understand searches in natural language. Map apps will now be able to share the route with the vehicle so it can calculate range and propose charging stops along the way. With the update GPS accuracy and wireless CarPlay reliability also improve.
All the features require only an iPhone running iOS 27, but Siri AI requires a model compatible with Apple Intelligence, that is, an iPhone 15 Pro or later. This makes CarPlay an even more capable platform for your car.
