One would think that with the Fallout series and the crazy success that ‘New Vegas’ and ‘Fallout 76’ have had long after their release, Bethesda would be stepping up their game with the new installment of the saga, right? Well, apparently not really: they’ve decided to take it easy. While they prepare more and more expansions for ‘Starfield’, they’ve already stated that they will not rush the next thing that comes in the saga.
It falls beneath its own weight
Obviously they have something prepared and in the works, but to no one’s surprise, Todd Howard stated clearly that “he can’t talk about it”. However, he has confessed that rushing them out doesn’t make sense for Bethesda because with the television series, they already have the quota covered for the franchise to continue its fame and for the lore to continue growing organically.
Obviously, a new game in the saga would be a guaranteed hit right now, but… when wouldn’t it be? It’s ‘Fallout’, after all! Bethesda knows that there’s a game suffering right now, which is Starfield, and they want to dedicate all their resources to that game before returning to Wasteland. Well, at least we know that good things are coming: “We want to make a new type of single-player game. And those things take time. I don’t think it’s a bad thing for people to miss franchises. We want to do it right and make sure that everything we do becomes meaningful moments for everyone who loves these games as much as we do”. In other words, we just have to wait!
