EA confirms that Cal Kestis will have the end he deserves in Star Wars Jedi
Star Wars is very much about trilogies. It’s no secret to anyone. Since the original trilogy, the company’s greatest successes have been composed of three works that complement each other. Star Wars is very much about trilogies. It’s no secret to anyone. Since the original trilogy, the company’s biggest successes have been composed of three works complementing each other. This must not have gone unnoticed by some people at EA when they had to decide the fate of Cal Kestis. They are ready to give him another installment, which will decide his destiny.
As commented last Tuesday by Laura Miele, President of Entertainment and Technology at EA, Respawn is working on the final chapter of Cal Kestis’ story. Something confirmed by the leak made by his voice actor, who confirmed that the studio is working on a third installment of Star Wars Jedi. One that will close his story, concluding his journey on the light side of the Force.
Among other things, they have also confirmed that the idea has always been for this series to be a trilogy. With plenty of time to work on Cal Kestis and his story, the plan from the beginning has been to make three games, allowing the character to grow and evolve through them. Imitating the style of the classic Star Wars movies. Something they have achieved, with one of the video games that has best captured the essence of the franchise.
That doesn’t mean that Star Wars Jedi hasn’t had its problems. Stig Asmussen, director of the first two installments, Fallen Order and Survivor, left the studio last year to form his own studio. Additionally, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was released in a state where, from Respawn, they had to work very hard to make it not only acceptable but even playable for many players. Even if today it is a very enjoyable game by itself.
Considering that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was released in 2019 and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor came out in 2023, it is not bold to say that we will still have to wait at least a couple of years to see it. In any case, we eagerly await the conclusion of Cal Kestis’ story, who has gradually managed to carve out a place in the greatest space odyssey in human history.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is the latest video game inspired by the Star Wars film saga. Specifically, it is the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
