HBO Max is losing several movies on July 31, 2026. The list includes John Wick, John Wick: Chapter 2, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, and John Wick: Chapter 4.
Alien: Covenant and Wuthering Heights are also set to leave on July 31. Knox Goes Away drops off earlier, on July 25, and Capturing the Friedmans follows on July 26, so the clock’s already ticking if you want to watch any of them again. Seeing the entire John Wick run leave HBO Max at the same time is the part that really jumps out. At least the deadline is easy to remember, and the series is still one of the biggest draws in modern action cinema.
If you keep a movie watchlist on HBO Max, this matters. Licensed titles leave when rights deals run out, and there’s no promise they’ll show up quickly on another subscription service. The John Wick exit also feels more like a pause than a full stop because, according to earlier reports, John Wick 5 is in active development at Lionsgate, with Keanu Reeves and Chad Stahelski expected to return.
You can watch these films on HBO Max until the dates listed for each one. After that, things get less clear: these removal lists are often U.S.-focused, international availability can differ, and HBO Max hasn’t said where any of the movies will stream next.
