Tesla stores have increasingly become targets for vandals amid growing discontent with the company’s CEO, Elon Musk.
In the United States, a Tesla store has even been the target of an arson attack, and the FBI has decided to open an investigation.
There have been some examples in Europe of acts against Nazism. Last week, a Tesla showroom in The Hague was vandalized with graffiti of swastikas and phrases like “No to Nazis” and “Fuck off fascist”.
The anger of citizens and shoppers against a CEO who has become radicalized
A Tesla store in Colorado has been attacked for the third time by vandals and suspected arsonists. The attackers struck in the early hours of Friday, according to a report from the Loveland Police Department. Law enforcement arrived on the scene hours later to conduct preliminary investigations.
The building and several vehicles were covered in offensive and hateful graffiti. Although the police have not revealed the exact words that were written on the surfaces, the media has published photos showing cars with the windshield painted with a large X. The vandals also wrote “NAZI CARS” on the outside of the dealership.
Similar incidents have been reported on January 29 and February 2 at the same location. However, the situation does not seem to have a solution through investigation, but rather responds to a very large discontent caused by the company’s CEO.
In Europe, Elon Musk’s Nazi salute has caused Tesla sales to drop more than ever, by up to 50% in some countries like France or Germany.
