The long-awaited final season of Stranger Things is just around the corner, with its premiere in three volumes scheduled to begin on November 26. The first part, which will release the first four episodes, will arrive on Netflix at an unusual time for the platform, at 8:00 p.m. ET, a first that marks a shift from the traditional midnight releases. The second volume will be released on December 25, followed by the third on December 31, thus closing a culminating chapter for the series’ fans.
An ending with which they want to control the times
This last season will not only reunite the original cast of Hawkins, but will also introduce new characters, such as Dr. Kay, played by Linda Hamilton, and Jamie Campbell Bower, who will return as the feared Vecna, the main antagonist. The narrative will focus on the search for and destruction of this character, while the presence of military threats in Hawkins further complicates the situation. Netflix’s official description promises a fight against “a darkness more powerful and deadly than anything they have faced before.”
Creators Matt and Ross Duffer have designed this final season to be an epic event compared to cinematic productions like Avengers: Endgame. The final episode will have a runtime of approximately two hours and will be screened in theaters, which reinforces the magnitude of the conclusion of this story. Although Stranger Things is coming to an end, Netflix plans to keep the franchise alive with an animated spinoff that will explore events between the previous seasons, and there could be more additional projects after the main series.
