Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is already out and players are thrilled. The new installment of the franchise is exactly what they expected and, although the campaign has turned out to be quite more peculiar than we anticipated, everything else is exactly what we expected from the franchise. This also includes new content just around the corner. And the fact that it gets leaked even when the game has been on sale for less than a week.

As we already knew, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Warzone will have their first season starting on November 14th. According to Activision, it will arrive with new free content that will include new multiplayer maps, new game modes, a new map for Zombies mode, as well as the introduction of Omnimovement and Black Ops 6 weapons and Loadout features for Call of Duty: Warzone. A real treat for those looking forward to diving into the online experience.

Additionally, for those who are fans of the battle royale, there are more specific updates. Because the Resurgence mode of Call of Duty: Warzone will have a new map, Area 99, which has a close connection with a popular multiplayer map, Nuketown, that will be added to the game along with the Infected mode.

All this also comes accompanied by what seems to be the leak of the new Call of Duty: Warzone map. According to what several players have discovered, if in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 a private match is started on the Lowtown map and spectator mode is entered, it is possible to fly beyond the map’s boundaries. This way, it is possible to see that there is much more terrain than we can normally navigate in Lowtown, suggesting that this will be the new Warzone map, named Avalon, as extracted on Reddit.

To be able to see all this, or to confirm what we do not officially know yet, we will still have to wait until next November 14. In the meantime, we still have the campaign and everything the base game offers, which is not little. And that’s why it’s paradoxical that, even with so little time left, some relevant details continue to leak in the most ridiculous ways possible.

The pizza chain Little Caesar has an offer for its customers in the US, Canada, and Mexico through which they can win prizes for Black Ops 6. So far, there’s nothing unusual. What perhaps should have been better thought out by Little Caesar was sending an email now that literally stated that “the Battle Pass will be sent to your Activision account at the start of season 1 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on November 14”. Thus revealing the release date of the game’s online first season.

In this way, it is confirmed that we will still have to wait three weeks for the first season of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Warzone. This should give us more than enough time to complete the campaign, which, as Activision has emphasized, will be much longer than usual this time.

Perhaps that’s why, from Activision, they haven’t wanted to reveal too much about the campaign for now. We know it will take place during the Gulf War and will be centered on the CIA, so we can expect to be involved in covert missions that occurred during that time. This will likely touch on the use of chemical weapons and the controversial “Gulf Syndrome,” a disease now semi-forgotten, but which was said to affect veterans who fought in the Gulf War and was never proven to exist.

Obviously, it will vary from player to player (there are very experienced ones, after all) but from Treyarch they promise us that even doing a speed run it will be longer than Cold War, which lasted about five hours. Moreover, they are so convinced that the story mode will be really good that it won’t even have an early access for the campaign: they will be released at the same time, on October 25th. And yes, in addition, the game will be available on Game Pass Ultimate (even though they have removed the trial for just one euro).

So, if you are a fan of Call of Duty, it seems that in Black Ops 6 they have learned their lesson: it will have the classic multiplayer with zombies, different options, various ways to progress in the campaign mode (including varied dialogue trees for the NPCs) and, in general, an improvement in the multiplayer that was lately bordering on mediocrity.

All to keep alive a saga that hasn’t skipped a single year since 2004, right after the release of the first title (although a spin-off did appear). At this point, twenty years later, it must renew itself or die. And if it’s the latter, it has decided to do so by fighting until the end, slamming its fist on the table and proving why it should keep its crown for much longer.

Activision has banned a mod in Call of Duty to make more money – or so it seems, at least

Nothing displeases players more than a studio that is afraid of them. And in the case of Activision, they seem to be terrified of the most normal thing in the world in their Call of Duty: a mod that was going viral for Modern Warfare Remastered. The reason? They were pretty sure it could interfere with the sales of Black Ops 6. The absolute definition of ‘insecurity,’ especially considering that the mod has just appeared and the sixth part will be released… on October 25th.

Shooting without modifications

The H2M mod had the idea of creating a place for the content of Modern Warfare 2, the version from 2009, with classic maps and weapons included, to use it in Modern Warfare Remastered. To do this, the mod required a copy of this game, which, to the supposed joy of Activision, made it rise very quickly in the sales charts.

The problem is that just before its release, the studio issued a notice not to release it, and the mod’s creators, without the ability to take legal action, had no choice but to stop its release at the last second. What we have now learned thanks to a video by Watchful Wolf, one of the modders (who, by the way, has retired after this disappointment), is that… they didn’t want H2M to interfere with the potential sales of Black Ops 6.

It has been of no use that the sales of Modern Warfare Remastered increased, that the mod did no harm to anyone and that it kept the community alive: Activision wants its annual Call of Duty to be a success even if it means forcing its community of followers rather than doing it willingly. Black Ops 6 is the game in the franchise that has taken the longest to make, about four years, and they want it to show in sales. Without mods, we’ll see if they are capable.
