This offer has started with the gift of the Game of the Year Edition of Dragon Age: Inquisition. This edition, for those who are wondering, includes the three main add-ons of the game, as well as the mounts, equipment, and weapons from the Deluxe Edition.

Is it worth playing Dragon Age: Inquisition a decade after its release?

The beloved and acclaimed Dragon Age: Inquisition features BioWare’s trademark branching narrative, deep action and role-playing combat systems, an open-world structure, and an evolving diplomacy system that forces you, as the Inquisitor, to make world-changing decisions that may or may not please your companions and opponents.

All these years later, it’s still worth playing, especially with a new installment of the series on the way, as you well know we are all waiting for that great Dragon Age: Dreadwolf that has been in development for over 5 years by the people at BioWare.

A gift horse, don’t look at its teeth. Or so the saying goes. In this case, we’re talking about a great game that passes all quality controls and even the most thorough analysis.

If the games that Epic gives away in the coming weeks are at the same level, millions of players will be adding high-quality titles to their video game library. A very gaming summer is coming, without spending a single euro.

Epic Games is giving away the ultimate horror game so you can have a scary Halloween: here’s how to redeem it

Who is going to say no to free games? And what is better, good free games. Today the Epic Games Store is giving away one of the best sequels.

The 2020s decade is being marked by the free games that stores and various services give or lend us for very little money. Xbox Game Pass offers 300 games available for less than 15 euros per month, while the Epic Games Store gives away two games weekly without asking for anything in return, and this trend could continue for a good while.

You have until November 2nd to get The Evil Within 2 for free

Released in 2017, The Evil Within 2 is the sequel to the acclaimed horror game developed by Tango Gameworks and published by Bethesda Softworks (now owned by Microsoft). The first game was given away by the Epic Games Store last week. Here’s a quick summary of the second installment:

“Detective Sebastian Castellanos has lost it all… but when he’s given a chance to save his daughter, Sebastian must descend once more into the nightmare world of STEM in The Evil Within 2. Horrifying threats emerge from every corner.” I can tell you’re eager to play.

Dreadful threats arise from every corner as the world twists and distorts around you. Therefore, you’ll have to face adversity with weapons, clever traps, and even evade danger stealthily in this thrilling sequel of horror and survival. Perfect for Halloween.

And it doesn’t come alone, Tandem: A Tale of Shadows

The other new game this week is Tandem: A Tale of Shadows, developed by Monochrome Paris and Hatinh Interactive. It blends top-down and side-scrolling perspectives to create a unique-looking platformer and puzzle game with distinctive gameplay.

“The award-winning Tandem: A Tale of Shadows features five beautifully crafted Victorian-inspired worlds influenced by Tim Burton, Jules Vernes, and Conan Doyle. Players have to carefully switch between Emma’s top-down view and Fenton’s side-scrolling view if they hope to escape alive from these dimensions,” they explain on their website.

As the duo navigates clever obstacles and menacing horrors, they uncover clues about the disappearance of Thomas, the peculiar Kane family, and their place in this universe. Will Emma and Fenton manage to escape the killer mansion filled with twists and surprises, or is their fate already sealed?

Few combinations can match a terrifying Halloween and free video games. Obviously today we are talking about this case.

The Epic Games Store has decided that they see our challenge and are upping the ante. Right now it’s giving away The Evil Within and next week its sequel, The Evil Within 2.

Giving away sagas is overkill, but thank you Tim Sweeney.

The Evil Within, published in 2014, is the work of Shinji Mikami, creator of the Resident Evil series. If you like the basic elements of the genre, such as stealth and survival, you’ll probably like it. It also includes a lot of gory scenes and some really disturbing moments, like lots of scares and chases.

While it may not measure up to Mikami’s most famous works, survival horror fans will really enjoy The Evil Within. Reviews were mostly positive at launch, and it’s definitely worth a free trial if you’ve never played it before.

The Evil Within also received some new features in 2021, such as a first-person mode, field of view options and longer sprint bursts. You can even give yourself infinite ammo if you find things are getting too tough.

Next week its sequel will be given away for free

While The Evil Within garnered mostly good reviews, its successor, next week’s Epic Games Store giveaway, has been hailed as the better game.

Released in 2017, The Evil Within 2 was directed by John Johanas and is much more ambitious than its predecessor, thanks to an open-world structure with sizable maps. It’s also where you’ll find the infamous final boss monster, which is one of the main things this writer remembers about his game.

The Evil Within and Eternal Threads are available for free from now until October 26. That’s when The Evil Within 2 and Tandem: A Tale of Shadows will be available until November 2.
