Season 3 of Call of Duty is expected to arrive on March 20, with a scheduled release at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST. This update marks a moment anticipated by fans, as there are rumors of a nostalgic return to the iconic Verdansk map, possibly in a version similar to the original. Activision has officially confirmed that Verdansk will return in spring 2025, raising high expectations for this season.
A Season of Nostalgia
The season has been described as a celebration of nostalgia, recalling the early days of Warzone, an approach reminiscent of similar events in Fortnite. The new update is expected to introduce a battle pass that will include iconic weapons and skins, as well as seasonal challenges and limited-time events. Rumors suggest that the battle pass could incorporate popular weapons from the early era of Modern Warfare and Verdansk.
Additionally, details have leaked about the return of two classic perks in Zombies mode: Double Tap and Tomb, as well as new field upgrades like Frost Blast and Shatter Blast. These rumors suggest a return to fundamental elements that players have been waiting for, especially the reintroduction of perks that have not been available since Black Ops Cold War.
Although Activision has not yet officially confirmed any specific content, the rumors about the return of Verdansk, iconic skins, and the inclusion of new features are creating an atmosphere of anticipation among the gaming community. Everything indicates that Season 3 will be a tribute to the history of Warzone, promising to revitalize the gaming experience with new and exciting additions.

Since its launch less than ten years ago, Fortnite has transformed the video game landscape, setting a new standard in the free-to-play business model. Epic Games has managed not only to maintain the interest of its player community but also to inspire other companies to adopt its approach of constant updates, iconic collaborations, and large events. However, this success has positioned Fortnite as the main obstacle for new releases in the industry, affecting both sales and user playtime.
According to Mat Piscatella, executive director of Circana, who shared his observations in a recent interview, a concerning 30% of gamers in the United States have no plans to buy any video games this year. This means that most fans are limited to acquiring one or two major titles a year, leaving ample room for free games like Fortnite and Warzone to dominate playtime and public attention.
Fortnite is not just a problem for other games as a service
Companies like Ubisoft and Sony are in a race to create their own games as a service that can emulate the phenomenon of Fortnite, despite the tough competition that this title presents. However, the highly anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto VI in the fall of 2025 could represent a shift in the balance of power within the video game industry, although the actual impact of this new release remains uncertain.
With a legacy already established, Fortnite continues to set the standard for how video games are designed and monetized today. Brands have begun to recognize its potential through collaborations, a model that has become an essential part of the game. As the landscape evolves, the expectation is that developers will continue to seek ways to compete in an increasingly saturated market where they must face the titan of Epic Games.
After the success of Elden Ring, we were all eager to know what the next game from From Software would be. Little could we imagine that it would be Elden Ring: Nightrein, a crossover between the gameplay foundation of their previous game and the formulas of games as a service. With skepticism but interest, we have been following all the information. And this past weekend we were able to try the closed beta of the game. What are our impressions? Well, that’s what we came to talk about, but it can be summarized in that there is potential here, although not without caveats. Perhaps the biggest problem of this closed beta […]

Perhaps the biggest problem with this closed beta has been the network issues. Not being able to play with friends at any time, as matchmaking was not working, has made the experience of playing Nightrein very different from what we expect the final experience to be. Going through scenarios of the Middle Lands with three people that gradually decrease until we confront a final boss, the possibility of playing with friends would have made the experience very different from playing with strangers. Allowing for more cooperation and undoubtedly, more laughter.
ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN is an independent action game set in the acclaimed universe of ELDEN RING, designed for Windows. This title introduces a new gaming experience by reinterpreting the mechanics of the original game while maintaining its characteristic immersive world. Players can expect rich landscapes and an intricate narrative, inviting them to explore and conquer new challenges.
Elden Ring: Nightrein is not Elden Ring, it is Risk of Rain
Because that is the first thing to highlight about Elden Ring: Nightrein. This is not Elden Ring. The setting is much smaller, there is no fall damage, and it has all the flavor of a battle royale.
As soon as we start, eagles make us fall in the center of the stage and from there, we can spread out across the map. With limits. Every few minutes, a blue fire will consume a larger piece of the map, constraining us to a smaller circle. Much more similar in shape to Apex Legends and Risk of Rain than to Fortnite, the fun here is less about getting loot and more about gaining experience. Leveling up is essential, mainly to face the bosses.
There are bosses everywhere in Nightrein. And they are the foundation of the game. We can progress solo, but it is wiser to do so with our companions for two reasons: experience is shared among the three of us and it is impossible to defeat the bosses solo. The game wants us to gain experience by defeating small enemies, level up, and take advantage of that increase to finish off the bosses that populate the stage to obtain special loot, from which we can choose one out of three options, customized according to our character for each of the players.
Less deep than Elden Ring, but no less interesting
Because in addition, although the characters are pre-generated, they are very customizable. Although two of the characters had strength builds, one had dexterity and the other magic, the differences were very marked. And it was easy to be flexible about what they wanted to do. The powers and their abilities depend on the weapons, which is why loot becomes important, but the best equipment always drops from the bosses, so we should always prioritize them over everything else.
Especially because, when the circle closes, night falls. Then, we have to face a particularly large and terrible boss. If we have done our job well up to that point, we will have a challenging and difficult fight, but one that we can overcome with cunning and teamwork. If not, we will die miserably. This is still a game from From Software. The reward will either be an upgrade or a particularly powerful piece of equipment. We will need it because the Nightrein matches are divided into three days and three nights, where we will have to survive until the end to conclude each of its scenarios.
Interestingly, all of this feels very good. The first hour of gameplay is confusing and a bit clunky, but after that, everything feels quite good. The integration of certain battle royale elements, such as eagle movements and dropping us at certain points, feels out of place and adds nothing, but the integration of powers and weapons into the team makes the experience more agile without losing too much depth. This is not Elden Ring, but it still feels like Elden Ring.
In addition, there is a progression factor throughout the game. Each game, whether we manage to complete the scenarios or not, will give us certain rewards with which we can improve our characters. This will greatly facilitate our ability to tackle subsequent games, providing a generous progression.
All of this creates a more than solid foundation to create an agile, fun, and different experience. It may not be as deep and intelligent as other recent games from the company, like Elden Ring or Armored Core 6, but it is interesting. And that is not saying little.

The future of Elden Ring: Nightrein is something we cannot know, but
Now, will it work in the medium or long term? That is the big question. For this game to work, it must have a progression that feels natural and enough content to keep fans entertained for at least a couple of hundred hours. Following the formula of games like Fortnite and drowning players in content would be a mistake, but following the formula of Monster Hunter, from which it shamelessly draws in many aspects, could be perfect: providing new periodic content to always keep the game fresh without requiring players to dedicate their lives to it.
Whether it will be a success or not is something that remains to be seen. It is impossible to know. What is clear is that From Software continues to do what they want. F. A game without concessions, playful and with its own peculiarities typical of the studio. Will it work? Won’t it? It doesn’t matter. The important thing is that we can breathe easy: From Software remains who they are. Those weird but nice and very clever guys who do whatever they please.

And you thought you had a great plan for Saturday, huh? Let me tell you. In an interview with Jack Sanders, Chappell Roan, who recently won the “Sound of 2025” award from BBC Radio 1 – in a year that has seen her evolution from cult figure to global megastar -, talked about her passion for video games, specifically mentioning Fortnite as her favorite. The artist has expressed a particular interest in having a skin developed for her within the game, which shows her connection to pop culture and her dynamism in the entertainment world.
Roan has an emote in Fortnite called ‘HOT TO GO’, while another one called ‘Good Luck Babe’ is on the way. In her conversation, the pop star appeared excited and creative, suggesting that her character in the game could incorporate an outfit inspired by the Statue of Liberty, with a touch of humor by proposing that the accessory for her skin could be a small apple-shaped bong. Yes, suggest it to Epic, you’ll see how funny it is.
In fact, he stated that “If I want to have a good night, I take an edible and play video games, but if I’m trying to have fun, I take mushrooms.” There, giving a good image to the kids. Additionally, the interview also mentioned the new first-person mode of Fortnite, known as Ballistic, which provoked a funny reaction from Roan when expressing his concern about missing the opportunity to play as his Ariana Grande skin, which he had already purchased. With this kind of engaging content, it’s clear that Roan, who has experienced meteoric growth in his career, could be a perfect addition to a significant event within Fortnite.
While there is no official confirmation yet, Roan’s desire to have his own skin in the game could open up new possibilities for the relationship between pop music and video games, especially in a title as influential as Fortnite.

Fortnite players have finally started receiving refunds as part of a settlement that Epic Games reached with the Federal Trade Commission, which alleged that the developer misled players into making in-game purchases.
So far, the FTC says it has sent more than 600,000 payments totaling 72 million dollars, and manyplayers have already reported receiving payments.
The FTC is sending refunds totaling more than $72M to consumers who were tricked by Epic Games, maker of the popular video game Fortnite, into making unwanted purchases: https://t.co/Fmyj2r6PeI /1
In 2022, Epic Games agreed to pay 245 million dollars to compensate players affected by the alleged “counterintuitive, inconsistent, and confusing button configuration” of Fortnite that, according to the FTC, led to unwanted purchases.
Currently, the FTC is sending payments to players who submitted valid claims before October 8, 2024, but is reviewing the claims it received after that date.
You still have time to file a claim for a Fortnite refund if you haven’t done so yet, as the FTC is giving players until January 10, 2025, to file a claim. You can find more information about the refunds on the FTC website.
As a clarification, these refunds and claims can only be requested if you are players residing in the United States and have lived in that territory for the last four years, as the FTC is a North American agency and only has jurisdiction in this country.

The first-person mode of Fortnite will be launched very soon, after years of rumors and speculation. It is called Ballistic and is basically a search and destroy mode on a new map.
Here is everything you need to know about the release date of the FPS Fortnite, as well as information about the new Skyline 10 map. Since this will be an early access release, there is likely to be much more about Ballistic in the coming months. Don’t despair.
Release Date of Fortnite’s Ballistic Mode and Game Modes
The first-person mode of Fortnite launches on December 11, 2024. It arrives in Early Access and, for now, is limited to one map and one mode. It is likely that as this new mode progresses, we will see more additions in the future, but there is no official news about it yet.
The best place to stay updated on specific updates closer to the launch of the new season is the Fortnite Status Twitter account. We will also keep this page updated.
The Ballistic mode of Fortnite will have a map when it launches in early access on December 11, 2024. It is called Skyline 10. It seems that Skyline 10 is a futuristic city, similar to the Mega City POI from chapter 4 of Fortnite.
However, it is much more detailed and is clearly designed to be more like a map dedicated to search and destroy. Although we still don’t have too much news about what will come to Ballistic in the future, the official blog post mentions “new maps, weapons, and features.”
The Ballistic mode is a 5 versus 5 no-build mode where players must plant a bomb and defend it from the opposing team, which tries to defuse it.
In Ballistic, there is no respawn: a round ends if the Rift Point Device explodes or if either team is completely eliminated. After 6 rounds, players will switch sides, giving defenders the chance to be attackers and vice versa. The match ends when either team has won a total of 7 rounds.
If it sounds familiar, it’s because this is identical to Counter Strike, making it a great addition to a game that keeps getting updated.

There are those who insist on saying, like a mantra that isn’t real, that Fortnite is on its last legs and there’s no way to save it. And yet, the game remains a cultural icon, one of the most beloved and played titles by an entire generation, a showcase for pop culture and, moreover, all eyes are on it as season 6 approaches. And we still don’t know many things officially, but we do have some leaked images.
Episode 1 of season 6 will start on Saturday, November 30, and if expectations and rumors are met, it will be based in Japan. In fact, we know that – according to unconfirmed rumors – two of the characters that will appear are Baymax, from Big Hero 6… and Godzilla. Yes, exactly, that Godzilla, the several-meter monster capable of launching atomic breath and who, we imagine, will not be playable (because otherwise, the rest of the players would have no chance).
Additionally, there will be new skins with Asian inspiration (fox masks, katanas, etc.) and there will probably be several tributes to cinema’s kaijus. However, all of this should be taken with a grain of salt, because Epic has not yet officially announced anything. All we know is that the remix of season 2 will end on Saturday, with a new song by Juice WRLD, and will usher in a new year of Fortnite.
It is difficult to see the game drop below a million concurrent users (which is truly remarkable considering it was released in 2017), and it continues to be part of the agendas of any Hollywood publicist who wants to promote themselves without relying on traditional media. Get ready to spend some V-Bucks, because that atomic breath doesn’t pay for itself.
The Fortnite Club subscription is designed for those who play Fortnite a lot. For those who play more casually or aren’t as into the game, it doesn’t hold much interest. Unless they also play Rocket League. Therefore, unless you are a very dedicated player or also play a completely different game, it doesn’t hold much interest for you. Now the Fortnite Club subscription includes everything you might need
Starting December 1, the Fortnite Club subscription will include the Musical Battle Pass and the LEGO Battle Pass, without a price increase. In addition to this, the subscription already offers the Battle Royale Battle Pass, 1000 V-bucks, exclusive outfits, and the Rocket League premium rocket pass.
All this will be accompanied by a slight increase in the price of the Battle Royale battle pass, which will go from costing 950 V-Bucks to 1000 V-Bucks. Surely enough to encourage people to switch to the Fortnite Club subscription.
Additionally, starting December 1, all Fortnite passes will progress simultaneously by gaining experience in any of the games. Therefore, if you play Battle Royale, Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, or Fortnite Festival, it might be time to consider whether it’s worth paying those €11.99 per month. Just in time for you to play the Fortnite you remember with nostalgia.

Fortnite is already seven years old. Almost eight. It is a game with an age, and that age is noticeable in many aspects. For example, the number of people who feel nostalgic for how the game was in its early days. Not in its true origins, because no one remembers how Fortnite was at the very beginning, but when it introduced the battle royale mode. When it became what it is today: the game that changed everything with Season 1 of Chapter 1. Something that Epic Games knows well.
Fortnite returns to Chapter 1 very soon
They know it so well, in part, because last November they launched a new season called Fortnite OG. The premise was that, during the season, they would relive different moments from Chapter 1 of Fortnite, recalling what the game was like back then. And it was a huge success. Tens of millions of players returned to the game after years of not playing. Something that Epic Games took note of. And now it is going to become a permanent mode for nostalgia lovers who still remember eating toast with Nocilla.
As commented from the official Fortnite account, Fortnite OG returns permanently. Starting December 6, we will be able to enjoy the original map with the original loot and even the original season, just as we remember it.
Additionally, the leaker HYPEX, has been able to confirm some more juicy details about this. Although it will start on December 6, we won’t have everything from the beginning. A new season will be introduced monthly in this first chapter. Chapter 1 consisted of 10 Seasons, so over the next ten months, all the seasons will be progressively introduced to form the entire original experience. Will they continue with Chapter 2 afterward or stop here? This is something we will still have to wait to find out.
This move makes sense when we consider that the launch of Fortnite OG managed to gather 44.7 million players. The highest number of simultaneous players for the game so far. Something they aim to replicate with the introduction of this new mode, similar to what others like Blizzard are doing with Overwatch: Classic, thus demonstrating that there is no weapon more powerful than nostalgia.
Fortnite, the third-person shooter with building and survival elements, is one of those games that needs no introduction. Known especially for its Battle Royale aspect, Epic Games' free-to-play cross-platform game has been providing frenzy and fun in a PvP (Player Vs Player) that has redefined the online multiplayer genre for years. And it doesn't matter how many years pass, the eternal rival of PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds) or the more recent Valorant remains as fresh as the first day.
