Rumors Suggest GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition to Release on Steam and Epic Games Store This Week

Gamers have waited long for the release of the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition, and now rumor has it that the game is very near to being released on Epic Store and Steam ports. While the potential release date for Epic Games store is out, the release on Steam is expected to happen around the same time, if not the same day.

Rockstar games have always planned a PC remaster of their most popular games, and the 6th installment in the GTA franchise has been on this list. While the release date has always been a mystery, gamers are excited that this will all change very soon.

GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition Release Date Leak

GTA Trilogy DE Release Dates Leaked?

The GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition is a remastered version of three popular titles from Rockstar – GTA: San Andreas, GTA III, and GTA: Vice City. These games are only available through the Rockstar Launcher. We’re also wondering if they’ll offer something for GTA V.

Fans have always requested Rockstar Games to release an Epic Store or Steam port of the games. Till recently, the developers were silent about these games, and gamers didn’t even know if the remastered games existed.

On January 16th, a mysterious insider revealed that the GTA Trilogy Definitive edition will soon release on Epic Games on January 19th. This source also claimed that there will be a 50% discount offered on the game for the first week. This source, however, did not release the date for a Steam release. Some say that it may happen a couple of days after the Epic Games release, while others anticipate it may happen on the same day.

Will They, Won’t They?

While there hasn’t been an official announcement, many gamers are excited about the release of this game. Some, however, are not taking this news seriously as they believe an official announcement by Rockstar Games should have happened by now. Will it happen? Only time will tell. Watch this space for more.

Best Movie Game Adaptions of All time, with The Last of Us on Top Of the List

Following on my last article about the worst game movie adaptations of all time, it should be no surprise that I’d do a follow-up article. A few of you have asked me to do the opposite, namely, list some of the top ones, and boy, there are so many I can think of. As a matter of fact, many of you would probably not agree with some of them (Silent Hill, cough cough).

While HBO’s The Last of Us has yet to release on the network, some are already saying it’s one of the best movie game adaptations to hit the screen. Clearly, they have some inside information I don’t have as yet, but it’s been entertaining reading them. Until I get to see it, here’s my list of the top adaptations of all time.

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (2005)

If you’ve played Final Fantasy VII, you’ll want to see this movie. There’s a new disease called Geostigma that’s taken over the land, which means a hero needs to step in. Sadly, Cloud is one of the people who have the infection. Even though he is weak, he still has to fight opponents that want to kill him.

The scenery and fighting are quite nostalgic and will take you back to the original game. The CGI effects are outstanding, so make sure you check out Advent Children.

Top game movie adaptations

Silent Hill: Revelation (2012)

I know, I know. How dare I put this movie on the list? While so many fans will disagree, I found Silent Hill: Revelation to be quite close to Silent Hill 3 if you ignore some of the background lore. It follows Heather’s story almost exactly, while adding or removing some elements to make it fit in the film’s timeline.

Many of the visuals are gorgeous, which horror fans will enjoy. The ending had so many easter eggs hinting at many of the Silent Hill games, especially Silent Hill 2. I still wonder if Christophe Gans’ new upcoming movie, Return to Silent Hill, isn’t a sequel to Harry finding Rose, but I’ve heard it will be about James.

Top game movie adaptations

Resident Evil: Welcome to Racoon City (2021)

We’ve seen many Resident Evil movies and series over time. The Alice Project movies weren’t well received by critics and fans. If you’re on Netflix, I recommend you check out Resident Evil: Welcome to Racoon City, which combines the events of Resident Evil 1 and RE 2 in one movie.
You follow the characters of Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine on the one side, and Claire Redfield and Leon Kennedy on the other. What you’ll see is a wonderful blending of two fantastic games into one, presenting stunning visuals and character designs. I hope they make a sequel based on Resident Evil 4.

Top 10 Worst Video Game Movie Adaptations of All Time

Many of us gamers are dying to see our favorite game as a movie or TV show. While movie producers are getting better at this skill, it wasn’t always this good. We’ve had some terrible failures in the past, especially during the first attempts with terrible CGI or effects.

I’m sure you could add some of your own choices to this list. I’ve heard many people say the Silent Hill movies and Resident Evil shows with the Alice project were terrible. Strangely, I really like them. While you didn’t ask, I decided to share my list of the top ten worst game movie adaptations of all time.

Double Dragon (1994)

I was 14 years old when this movie came out. I think I had played the Double Dragon game at my local arcade, so I was quite excited to see this. Sadly, the story and action were quite bland, and it didn’t sit well on the charts or with critics either. It’s one of my least favorite movies with Mark Dacascos in.

Double Dragon (1994)

Max Payne (2008)

While Mark Wahlberg is a spectacular actor in my books, he couldn’t save this movie. It had the Matrix bullet-time action that was in the original game, but the story didn’t quite match. Also, they decided to add some supernatural elements that had nothing to do with the game’s plot. They were probably trying to cash in on popular fantasy movies of the time, such as Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings.

Hitman: Agent 47 (2015)

I’ve seen many people state that the first Hitman with Timothy Olifant was one of the worst video game movies, and I disagree. If anything, it would be on my top ten list of favorites. As for the sequel, I tried to watch it a few times with the same enthusiasm, and couldn’t. It just couldn’t live up to the hype.

worst video game movie adaptations of all time main 2

Super Mario Bros. (1993)

One of the earliest video game movie adaptations wasn’t all that spectacular. There was a lack of color on the screen, but it could have been due to a low budget. Not only was the movie not well received, but it suffered a financial loss due to a lack of interest.

worst video game movie adaptations of all time main

Wing Commander (1999)

There are several ingredients to this poorly-received movie. On the one hand, the actors didn’t perform too well, lending to a bland delivery on screen. Also, the story didn’t quite match the game’s plot, which is something that seems to happen quite often with adaptations. The enemies look terrible, but I guess we can overlook that part. Antagonists shouldn’t look pretty, right?

worst video game movie adaptations of all time main

Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997)

I’m a MASSIVE Mortal Kombat fan. Huge. I played the very first game when it appeared in my local arcade, and then every MK title on every PlayStation console since then. I live and breathe the story in my soul. Sadly, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation sucked out my soul like Shang Tsung having a feast on Lui Kang’s spirit while watching Goro finally defeat any of earth’s champions. It was just terrible and didn’t do the games justice. Also, Christopher Lambert is the best Raidan of all time.

worst video game movie adaptations of all time main

Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li (2009)

I was also a fan of the Street Fighter games, but not as much as MK. I loved the first movie, but I couldn’t make it through Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. The only reason I really tried was due to my celebrity crush on Smallville actress, Kristin Kreuk. As much as I enjoyed seeing her on the screen, the storyline needed some help that she just couldn’t save.

worst video game movie adaptations of all time main

BloodRayne (2005)

Another actress I love from game-movie adaptations is Kristanna Loken. She featured in the Mortal Kombat Conquest TV Show, of which I still own the original DVD set. While there’s one really sexy scene in BloodRayne, that’s about all it’s got going for it. Even though there were sequels, none of them lived up to the game.

worst video game movie adaptations of all time main

House of the Dead (2003)

The House of the Dead arcade machine was a hit at our local game center. Everyone loved having a shot (pun intended) at killing the enemies. As for the movie, the producer did a good job of killing the show with poor acting and script that made us snore for the most part.

worst video game movie adaptations of all time main

Alone in the Dark (2005)

While the first Alone in the Dark game came out before Silent Hill, I actually thought it was the other way around. It’s mostly due to me discovering the latter before the former. Be that as it may, the movie was anything but stellar, with the game developer even wanting nothing to do with it. If only it had as much suspense as the games.

Best Windows Games to Look Forward to in 2023

The current year is almost over. That means another one is coming with new games. Many games are released in critical seasons like Summer or the Holidays, but in 2023 we can expect some very anticipated games as soon as January.

Thankfully, 2023 seems packed with top-anticipated games that have been years in the making, such as Starfield, and probably instant hits like Diablo IV. These games are expected later in 2023, but there’s no need to wait: great games are coming sooner.

Best Windows games for the first quarter

These are some of the most anticipated games for Windows systems from January to March. The first quarter isn’t typically littered with new releases, but there are still noteworthy titles that’ll help you endure those long winter nights or summer days, depending on where you are. Below are the highlights.

Forspoken – 24 January 2023

This is a new franchise from Luminous Productions and Square Enix. In case these names aren’t familiar, Square Enix is responsible for nothing less than the Final Fantasy franchise, which started in 1987, whose games became some of the most popular JRPGs of all time. Luminous Productions is a subsidiary of Square Enix, whose biggest hit is Final Fantasy XV.

In this case, they aim to recreate Final Fantasy’s success with a new proposal. In this case, you play a young woman from New York who somehow gets into a magical realm. As you can imagine, the story is king here, since it’s very well developed, at least as far as the preview allows us to check.

Another important feature is combat. Since you’re in a magical realm, you soon find out you have special powers. In fact, there are more than 100 spells, many of them with different attack modes which work just like regular weapons.

Forspoken the hottest games for Windows in 2023

Hogwarts Legacy – 10 February 2023

Isn’t Harry Potter so 2000s already? That’s the notion Hogwarts Legacy tries to combat. First of all, the action develops in the same universe as the Harry Potter books, but with different characters. The story unfolds about 100 years before the books and has you attending classes to, later on, deal with a major menace.

This is a third-person action game where you learn spells at Hogwarts and later use them against enemies or solve puzzles. You can also create potions and, apparently, go on a dark path for some interesting character development. There are many NPCs to interact with, but there’s no multiplayer.

Avalanche Studios is behind the game, and they clarified JK Rowling wasn’t involved in any aspect of its development. Among Avalanche’s biggest hits are Rage 2 and the Just Cause franchise.

Hogwarts Legacy the hottest games for Windows in 2023

Wild Hearts – 17 February 2023

Wild Hearts is poised to be “the” 2023 monster hunting game. Clearly inspired by the Monster Hunter series, this EA game expands the concept in many ways. This game has incredible graphics and a distinctive combination of gameplay elements. You can hunt, craft, and build aside from exploring a vast world.

The setting is also intriguing since it incorporates a lot of elements from feudal Japan, something that’s not very common in action games, and gives it a unique feel. Even though combat is immensely satisfying, the other major innovation is a Fortnite-like ability to create items instantly and use them in combat.

Aside from this, it features up to three players in coop-multiplayer mode. The best of all? It’s cross-platform, so you can play with your PS5 or Xbox friends in the same session.

Wild Hearts the hottest games for Windows in 2023

Skull and Bones – 9 March 2023

This Ubisoft game is hotly anticipated by a lot of players since it had many development problems. It’ll finally set sail in March, and it’s looking up to be a great pirate simulator.

In Skull and Bones, your task is to rise from being an outcast to the terror of the seas. You have nothing, and through your deeds must build a fleet to dominate the Indian Ocean. It’s set in the Golden Age of Piracy, between 1650 and 1730, with an open-world setting.

Unlike its main competitor Sea of Thieves, you control all functions in your ship such as crew management and combat, instead of individually making use of your ship. You need to ensure your ships are in top shape, as well as your crew’s morale since you’ll be competing with other players in this multiplayer-only experience.

Skull and Bones the hottest games for Windows in 2023

Star Wars: Jedi Survivor – 17 March 2023

This incredibly anticipated sequel to Fallen Order continues with the adventures of Cal Kestis. Following its predecessor, your task is to survive Order 66 to kill all Jedi. Even though it’s a sequel, there are novelties as well.

These novelties include five new fighting stances, new characters, and new traversal mechanics that make exploration easier. The new story still doesn’t change the game’s main genre, an action-adventure title.

Like Fallen Order, this title is a single-player experience, boasting incredible graphics and effects. The new fighting stances make lightsaber combat more satisfying than ever.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor the hottest games for Windows in 2023

Resident Evil 4 Remake – 24 March 2023

Resident Evil 2 had a remake and it was a success, so why not remake Resident Evil 4? This Capcom game differs, however, in its approach. While Resident Evil 2 Remake was a major one, here it’s more nuanced, trying to bring this 17-year-old game to current times.

Graphics received a major update, and scenes now feel a lot more haunting even though the events play out almost the same. Combat is very similar, but has some important changes. One of them is the ability to move while you aim. You can also crouch now, which allows for new ways to deal with old problems.

However, the developer was wise enough to include many small elements that will surprise original fans, such as going to a previously safe place only to find it’s not safe in this version, or cows catching fire.

The Best Windows Games of 2022

Some of the best PC games have been released in the past ten years, putting PC gaming on par with the most recent consoles. Gaming on a PC may even be superior to gaming on a console due to the technological advantages that the greatest graphics card and CPU can offer.

Some of these advances include higher frame rates, resolutions, features like ray-tracing and HDR, the best gaming display that can provide incredible immersive experiences, and more. Whether you have a high-end PC gaming setup or are looking for games to play on your laptop, we’ve put together a list of the best PC games of 2022 you can find right now.

Elden Ring

Elden Ring is the topic of everyone’s conversation these days and with good cause. You can be sure that FromSoftware’s newest punishment simulator won’t pull any punches with a story created by Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin and all the well-known Souls-like touchstones expanded into an open universe.

FromSoftware is developing a patch to address a number of performance problems with the PC version of the game. Despite these issues, it is unquestionably one of the best games the business has ever produced.

Since Demons’ Souls was released, we have been staunch fans of the studio’s work. Therefore, we don’t give that kind of praise lightly. You must, however, earn it, just like in the Souls-like genre, which FromSoftware unquestionably does with Elden Ring.

God of War Ragnarok

God of War is a game series that has been running since 2005. The most recent installment, Ragnarok, has given the game new vitality despite the fact that it has had several throughout the years. This may be as a result of the new location—you aren’t anymore traveling through a horrible version of Greece—or the inclusion of Kratos’ travel partner.

As you and his kid ascend a mountain to disperse his wife’s ashes, you’ll be plunged into a Norse-inspired mythical realm while playing as Kratos, the demigod who almost destroyed the entirety of the Greek pantheon in the prior games. Naturally, you’ll have to fight your way through a variety of animals and deities along the way.

Hitman 3

Hitman 3, the final game in the rebooted trilogy, completes the franchise and perfectly captures what makes these games unique. Although the gameplay isn’t entirely new, it does include six new places and wraps up the story that began in Hitman in 2016.

You may go to many places worldwide with the maps in Hitman 3, including England, China, Dubai, and more. If you’ve never experienced Hitman’s gameplay, you’re in for a treat. In this hitman game, you assume the character of Agent 47, whose job it is to surreptitiously and stealthily go over vast spaces, such as an English manor, in pursuit of and killing targets.

Given that you can play the same map repeatedly to find new routes or alternate plot lines to eliminate your targets, this edition, like the previous ones, offers the kind of replay value you don’t often see in other games.

Silt

In Silt, a strange underwater puzzle-adventure game, a lone deep diver investigates the dark depths of the ocean in an effort to uncover its mysteries. The imaginative game Silt, developed by Spiral Circus Games and published by Fireshine Games, effectively captures the emotions of wonder and horror.

Its darkly atmospheric gameplay has been improved because it is a single-player game. If you’re looking for a platformer puzzler with a more methodical story delivery and controls that keep everything feeling fresh until the very end, this game is worth buying.

Silt distinguishes itself from most other games in its genre because of its gorgeous yet depressing black-and-white graphics. The contrast between the bright and dark areas softly but successfully sets the tone, masterfully depicting the inherent terror and danger of exploring the deep ocean while coming across terrifying creatures.
