Because there could have been much, much more story if they hadn’t focused on ‘GTA Online’.

We must try to understand Rockstar. And it is that, at a certain point, what was the point of continuing to release DLC for a single player of ‘GTA V’? The company decided to focus on the next generation console versions and then on ‘Red Dead Redemption 2′. When it was time to work on the DLC, it was already too late for people not to complain while waiting for the sixth installment.

Among the leaked content, there are some DLCs that seem obvious. For example, the ‘Relationship Pack’ would probably bring a relationship system to Los Santos. But there are others whose revelation has certainly been surprising: for example, ‘LibertyV’, which apparently was going to mean a return to Liberty City from ‘GTA IV‘. For what? Well, who knows, of course.

In addition, we have ‘Prologue’, which would presumably be a prequel that would set things in order and take us to North Yankton, a state that we have only seen in a cinematic and a subsequent mission and about which we don’t know much. As for ‘Agent Trevor’, we know it because it ended up becoming the update for ‘GTA Online‘ called ‘The Doomsday Heist’.

Obviously, these two DLCs, especially the one that would recreate Liberty City, are potentially huge that, when it comes to eliminating something to focus on what really makes money (online gaming), it is normal that they decided not to fully program a complete city. In any case, it’s a shame. They would have ended up swimming in money, of course, but slightly less by taking the shortest path. This is video games in 2023. That’s how it is.

This has been the case with Obbe Vermeij, former Technical Director of Rockstar North, who worked for the company between 1995 and 2009. This developer recently chose to write an article on his blog discussing his experience working at the company, titled “Inside Rockstar North.” “Inside Rockstar North,” if you can’t read Hamlet in its original version. In this article, he covered the development of several GTAs, as well as various canceled projects like the spy game Agent or a zombie game called Z.

Why are we speaking in the past tense? Because obviously, good old Vermeij has received a call from his former colleagues at the studio. Or to be more precise, he received an email from the company. Although its content is not exactly what we expected.

According to Vermeij himself, people from the studio have contacted him to remove the post as they believe he is “breaking the mystique of Rockstar.” Vermeij doesn’t seem to attach much importance to it, but out of respect for his former colleagues, he has decided to delete this article, along with others related to his previous work. This decision is understandable, especially considering Rockstar’s reputation for legally pursuing those who speak about their time at the company.

In the future, Vermeij intends to continue writing about game development, as he has mentioned, but apparently not about his time at Rockstar. Only anecdotes he deems harmless. It’s disappointing but shows the extent of secrecy maintained by the company behind the mega-success of GTA.

How to use cheat codes in GTA 5

Up until now, to use a cheat in any GTA game we only had to type its code from anywhere on the map and wait for the God of Cheats to grant upon us its magical powers. Things have changed a bit in the newest Grand Theft Auto, giving us different options to use these codes. This is how you activate cheat codes in GTA 5 depending on the platform you’re playing on:

On Xbox (360, One, S/X) and Playstation (PS3, PS4, PS5) you simply input the code on your control pad while you’re exploring the map and not in the midst of a mission. You can also activate a cheat by making a phonecall or by typing a code on any of the PCs that you’ll find around Los Santos.
On PC, you can use cheat codes by typing them in the game console. To activate the console, just press the “¬” or “~” key on your keyboard. You can also use your in-game cell phone to dial and activate cheats or use a gamepad to input the Xbox controller codes.

Warning: Cheating in GTA 5 has consequences

GTA 6 Leak offers confirmation about the city we always suspect

GTA 6 is shown in a new leak, this time showing a police chase in which the protagonist tries to escape from the forces of law.

We are all eagerly awaiting the release of GTA 6. Even without a specific date, we are all hoping it will come out around 2024 or 2025. That doesn’t mean that things aren’t gradually coming to light. After all, last year a generous amount of gameplay footage from the game leaked online, which, although in a very early state, allowed us to have a first glimpse of the most anticipated game of all time. Of course, Take-Two Interactive was quick to make it disappear, but almost a year later, it’s reappearing on the internet. And it shows us some very interesting things.

The user responsible for leaking all these small videos, which are packed with content—such as a party at a strip club or what appears to be the protagonist’s first hideout—is seeing most of them being taken down from X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, due to copyright claims. This gives legitimacy to the leak, making it seem genuine, although we should exercise caution. Take-Two Interactive might be taking action due to this person’s association with them using the username RockstarGTAVI, and they could consider it as spreading false information. Whether true or not, this is something yet to be confirmed, and we must remember something important: this is a very early version of the game. GTA VI will look significantly different, and likely better, than what we see in these videos. Therefore, we shouldn’t worry if it doesn’t meet our expectations. Or if we haven’t yet seen all the things that the developers have already confirmed will be included.

With that said, it’s expected that GTA 6 will be released sometime in the next year or the following year for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. There are rumors suggesting that it will be showcased at some point during this fall, and if that happens, a 2024 release can be anticipated. Historically, there has been a short time between the announcement of GTA games and their release. Either way, only time will tell what will happen with this highly anticipated game.

There are those who do not stop theorizing about how the end of Grand Theft Auto should be in its online version.

For an MMO to last for a couple of years is normal, but for it to be still going strong a decade later is almost a miracle considering the new features that come out almost every day. But of course, when that MMO is called GTA Online, things change. The problem is that players are already glimpsing GTA VI on the horizon, and, with it, they smell the expiration date. Maybe that’s why there are those who do not stop theorizing about how the end of Grand Theft Auto should be in its online version.

Fanfiction, but well done

A user on Reddit has imagined what the perfect ending would look like, and what might seem like a second-rate fanfic would actually be a nice ending to GTA. Bloody and full of gunfire, but a nice ending nonetheless. In it, your character would have become one of those big shots who own yachts and drink luxury brand coffee… And, of course, he’d be a target.

But who would want a piece of the pie? “The noise is coming from Vice City, and San Andreas, boss. They’re all coming for you.” Luckily, the player would have all the allies on his side. Franklin, Imani, Lester, Paige, Agent 14, Pavel, Tony and Chops.
