The re-release of 'Avengers: Endgame' is not a coincidence. It aims to completely restart the Marvel Universe

Marvel Studios has announced the re-release of Avengers: Endgame in December 2025, just before the premiere of Avengers: Doomsday, scheduled for December 2026. This move aims not only to draw fans back to theaters but also to smooth the transition between the two films by including new footage that is intrinsically linked to the narrative of Doomsday. Marvel Studios has announced the re-release of Avengers: Endgame in December 2025, just before the premiere of Avengers: Doomsday, scheduled for December 2026. This move aims not only to draw fans back to theaters but also to ease the transition between both films by including new footage that is intrinsically linked to the narrative of Doomsday.

Avengers, assemble!

Joe Russo, one of the directors of Endgame, has made it clear that the new material will not be limited to a simple deleted scene; it will be essential for understanding the evolution of the story in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This is similar to the strategy used in the special editions of Star Wars, where elements were added to connect the original trilogies with the prequels.

Since the release of Endgame, the MCU has faced challenges in finding a clear direction and has tried to reconnect with the audience through various re-releases and new installments. Although titles like WandaVision and Loki have explored the post-snap world, the arrival of Doomsday, starring Robert Downey Jr. and directed again by the Russo brothers, has generated interest from fans. Additionally, Chris Evans is expected to reprise his role as Steve Rogers in this new movie, which could provide answers about his fate since Endgame.

While re-releases are not unusual in major franchises, the case of Endgame is particularly relevant in the context of the MCU. Marvel’s decision to introduce new content into a critically acclaimed film could change the way fans perceive the narrative, raising questions about the canonization of already established events. Thus, the public’s reaction will be crucial in assessing the success of this bold move by the company.

We will not see Deadpool as the solo protagonist in a Marvel movie again

After its remarkable success in theaters in 2024, Deadpool has maintained a lower profile in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, the charismatic Merc with a Mouth has big plans for his return. Ryan Reynolds, the actor behind the character, has confirmed that he is working on a new script for future Deadpool adventures. During a recent interview with NBC, Reynolds shared relevant information about the direction the character will take in the future.

Chimichanga

Reynolds made it clear that Deadpool will not star in solo movies again. Instead, the actor revealed that the antihero will be presented as a supporting character, or in certain cases, as a leader within a team. I don’t think I’ll ever focus on Deadpool again. He’s a supporting character. He’s a guy who is great when he works with a group, Reynolds stated. This statement comes after the Merc with a Mouth shone in his two solo films and in his co-starring role with Wolverine played by Hugh Jackman.

Reynolds’ approach to upcoming projects suggests that Deadpool will take on a lighter and more comedic role in future Marvel productions. He is likely to appear in future Avengers installments, although he probably won’t have a leading role, but rather a comedic relief role. The upcoming multiversal confrontations, which include powerful villains like Doctor Doom, could provide the perfect backdrop for the character’s quirkiness and humor.

While Deadpool’s evolution into a supporting character may surprise some, it seems to be a logical decision given the character’s background in film; and his nature has benefited from interacting with other characters.

The Marvel character that was supposed to appear as a supporting role in the Netflix series. They ended up giving him his own movie and grossing 1.1 billion

At the beginning of 1977, Marvel was a bit worried: most of their heroes were men and only a handful of heroines like the Invisible Woman or the Wasp were making an appearance. They needed more if they wanted to keep the female audience from leaving them behind, and Stan Lee wondered, “Well, can we come up with a female character for which we can use the name Marvel?” Yes, as uncreative as it sounds. In early 1977, Marvel was a bit worried: most of their heroes were men and only a handful of heroines like the Invisible Woman or the Wasp were making an appearance. They needed more if they wanted to keep the female audience from leaving them behind, and Stan Lee wondered “Well, can we come up with a female character for which we can use the name Marvel?”. Yes, as uncreative as it sounds. Digging through the comics, they decided that the chosen one would be a secondary character of Captain Marvel, a certain Carol Danvers who had been seriously injured. With a plot excuse, they resurrected her in full force and called her Ms. Marvel. A star was born.

From Jessica Jones to Carol Danvers

Although at the time Ms. Marvel was one of the most progressive characters of her time, the truth is that in the 80s she was put into a terrifying plot where, in an alternate reality, she was raped by Marcus, the son of Immortus, and gave birth… to Marcus himself, whom the Avengers believed she was in love with and sent back to that alternate reality. As you can imagine, it didn’t sit well with her, and over the years, it has been heavily criticized that someone allowed such harm to be done to a character with so much potential. She eventually managed to survive that ordeal, became more popular than ever, and even became, as she is now, Captain Marvel. Thank goodness.

However, when Netflix chose the heroes that would make up their own Marvel Universe, long before Disney+ existed, they obviously preferred to go for “street-level” characters rather than powerful cosmic beings, due to budget issues: thus, among the four chosen, there was only one woman: Jessica Jones, who had starred in the comic book series Alias in the early 2000s. It was an immediate success, the story was very good, and Netflix decided that it would focus on the legal cases of superheroes and being a colleague of, indeed, Carol Danvers.

The characters had already crossed paths in the comics, and their creator, Melissa Rosenberg, wanted to play the game again: “When I was making it for ABC, I used Carol Danvers. But when it ended up on Netflix, the MCU separated, and so did it from the comic universe.” And although she wanted to continue using the character, Marvel warned her that there was going to be a Captain Marvel movie and prohibited her from beating around the bush. Instead, and almost at the last minute, she changed it in the scripts to Patsy Walker, which ultimately worked better than anyone would have expected. After all, she was a character without superpowers who could serve better as a mirror for Jones… And yes, by the end of season 2, she not only acquired superpowers but also became the villain of the last batch of episodes. Better not to remember them.

In the end, Marvel took longer than expected to introduce its star heroine: she was originally supposed to appear in Age of Ultron, but its director, Joss Whedon, complained that they couldn’t introduce her properly with so many characters, and they had to change the script, inserting Scarlet Witch into some sequences that were originally meant for Danvers. When she was introduced in Captain Marvel, she earned 1.1 billion for the studio’s coffers.

The good part of all this is that, finally, after a bunch of chain changes and licenses and all that boring paperwork, it is official that both belong to the same universe (or it will be in season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again). Will we finally be able to have this superhero buddy movie, or is Brie Larson’s cache so high that it’s not worth trying?

'Wonder Man' breaks a very negative streak for Marvel… or so say its creators

Interest in the Marvel Cinematic Universe seems to be declining, especially after Bob Iger’s return as CEO of Disney. The interest in the Marvel Cinematic Universe seems to be declining, especially after Bob Iger’s return as CEO of Disney. Although new productions have been released incessantly, many fans feel that to enjoy the series and movies, it is necessary to keep up with a complex web of narrative connections. This feeling has generated frustration among followers, who see it as a challenge to follow the storyline of the franchise.

No more homework

Amid this landscape, the recent series Wonder Man, which is now available on Disney+, seeks to change that dynamic. We have statements from showrunner Andrew Guest, who has stated that the series can be enjoyed without requiring prior knowledge of Marvel’s extensive lore. This proposal goes against the perception that many have that the cinematic experience of Marvel is reserved only for those well-versed in its stories.

Additionally, the co-creator of the series, Destin Daniel Cretton, has emphasized that Wonder Man is not your typical superhero series, which could surprise viewers expecting a more conventional narrative. Cretton, known for his work on the upcoming Spider-Man installment, suggests that both new and veteran fans might appreciate a more independent proposal that is less tied to the canonical events of the MCU.

Despite the promises of offering titles that can be enjoyed without a deep immersion in the Marvel universe, some critics remain skeptical. However, Wonder Man represents a new attempt to attract both newcomers and loyal followers, at a time when collective interest in the MCU is changing.

Deadpool will not end in Marvel after 'Secret Wars'. In fact, Ryan Reynolds is already preparing his new movie

Deadpool will return in…

According to information from the American media Puck, Ryan Reynolds is already working on the fourth installment of Deadpool. However, details about this new movie are still scarce, leaving fans speculating about what direction the character will take. It remains to be seen if Deadpool will survive the shocks brought by Secret Wars. While his fate cannot be confirmed, there are several possibilities that the plot will explore some alternate universe or even take place before the events of this major saga.

One of the most plausible outcomes for the character is Deadpool’s ability to break the fourth wall, which could offer him creative ways to navigate through the new timeline that the MCU will establish post-Secret Wars. This ability could allow Deadpool to continue existing in a context that would be perilous for many other MCU characters. With irreverent humor and a touch of madness, it’s easy to imagine how he could use his narrative uniqueness to keep captivating his audience.

As this scenario unfolds, fans find themselves in a state of anticipation, not only for what is to come in Deadpool but also for the future direction of Marvel Studios as a whole. Will Deadpool survive the multiversal crisis? The answer might be closer than we think.
