Tomb Raider arrives on PC a decade later, but only to a store that nobody in the world uses

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition arrives for the first time on PC, but it does so in the most unexpected store, as it is neither Steam, GOG, nor the Epic Store.

Tomb Raider is a franchise with strong roots in PC. All its best versions of its early titles were on computers, but over time it leaned more and more towards consoles. So much so that when Crystal Dynamics rebooted it in 2013 with a younger Lara Croft, it was clearly a game designed for consoles. So much so that the remaster they released in 2014, under the name Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, would only be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Never on PC.

Never until now, at least. Because without any celebration, completely in silence, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition has been released on PC. Something we have only had to wait ten years for and that was discovered, almost by chance, by a Reddit user named sockableclaw.

How has the release of such a relatively big game gone unnoticed like this? Because it hasn’t been published on Steam. Not even on the Epic Store or GOG. It has been released on the Microsoft Store, for a price of €19.99. The last place where anyone would think to look for new releases because, primarily, it is not one of the main online video game stores.

The reason why it has been released on the Microsoft Store and ten years later escapes us, but now it is possible to enjoy Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition on PC. In a place where practically no one ever looks, but at least, it makes it available for everyone.

Surprise Leak: Tekken 8 Launch Date Unveiled, Catching Fans Off Guard

Tekken 8 has kept us completely in the dark when it comes to its release date, but now we know it.

Even though Street Fighter 6 has a very recent release, that doesn’t mean the fighting game community isn’t already looking ahead to upcoming launches. Mortal Kombat 1 is coming out on September 14th and is making a great impression in the betas that have been playable so far. Something we can also say about Tekken 8, the other major fighting game alongside Street Fighter, except for the fact that it doesn’t have a release date. Except that it seems to have been leaked ahead of time.

The release date for Tekken 8 would be January 26, 2024, according to Aggiornamenti Lumia. Having made numerous accurate leaks in the past, this lends credibility to their latest disclosure. Especially since they claim to have sourced this information from the most reliable place: the public Tekken 8 page on the Microsoft Store.

As of now, if you look at the Microsoft Store page, the game lacks any release date. This is understandable. If the date is to be announced today during the Opening Night Live presented by Geoff Keighley, it wouldn’t be unusual for the public details to accidentally appear when updating the game listing, allowing them to be visible long enough for a leak to occur. This aligns with the fact that Geoff himself has confirmed that we’ll learn more about Tekken 8 tonight.

Tekken 8 was announced last September 2022 during the PlayStation State of Play stream. Since then, numerous trailers introducing the game’s characters have been released, along with various open and closed betas that allowed players to extensively test the game’s systems. Although the official confirmation of the release date is still pending, all signs point to us starting off 2024 by donning our finest attire and engaging in fistfights with one of the best fighting game franchises of the moment.
