The preview reveals some of the adventures that the grandfather and grandson duo will experience. In the images, we can see Rick and Morty going camping and facing a strange town where things get out of control, as well as comedic and dangerous moments inside Rick’s lab. The series will continue to explore its characteristic dark humor and surreal situations that have delighted viewers for years.

It is worth noting that this will be the third consecutive season for voice actors Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden as Rick and Morty, following the controversy surrounding Justin Roiland’s departure in 2023. The president of Adult Swim, Michael Ouweleen, praised the work of the creators, stating that the series continues to outdo itself: “It’s a little scary the talent and brilliance that this team is bringing season after season”.

In addition, it has been confirmed that there will be a spin-off of Rick and Morty starring President Curtis, played by Keith David. With this new season on the way and additional content in development, “Rick and Morty” seems more alive than ever, promising moments of reflection and laughter for all its fans.

In a statement published on YouTube, the creators expressed that they have achieved their narrative goal and prefer not to extend the series beyond its initial essence, avoiding the stretching that has harmed other productions like ‘Rick and Morty’.

We hadn’t seen anything like this in a long time

‘Smiling Friends’ has been recognized as one of the best animated series in recent years, thanks to its Internet-influenced humor and absurd style, which has allowed it to stand out among other presentations in the field of contemporary animation. The series has forged its own path in television storytelling.

Despite its remarkable success and having been renewed for two more seasons by Adult Swim, Cusack and Hadel maintained a clear vision for the future of the series. They have previously indicated that they do not intend to extend the series beyond five seasons, leaving the door open for the possibility of a special in the future, although they emphasize that the series, as we have known it, will come to an end definitively.

The creators have left fans waiting for an uncertain future, as, although they continue to plan new projects, they insist that it is time to close this chapter. Even if we have a thousand ideas by the end of season 5, we are not going to continue much longer. Five is very close to where we probably want to end, they stated in a recent interview. With its conclusion, ‘Smiling Friends’ leaves a legacy that will likely influence the narrative of animation and television in the years to come.

What is the secret for 'Rick and Morty' to remain fresh after eight seasons? Its creator has the trick

‘Rick and Morty’, the popular animated series that has been on the air for over a decade, continues to capture the attention of viewers with its blend of irreverent humor and unpredictable narrative twists. With eight seasons under its belt, the series has managed to secure a special place in the hearts of the audience, largely thanks to its eccentric characters and episodes that often satirize classics of popular culture.

Dan Harmon, the creator of the series, has shared details about the creative approach of the team, revealing that they follow a strict South Park rule to avoid falling into the trap of imitating the satirical style of other productions. This guideline helps maintain originality in each episode and ensures that the show does not simply become a replication of what has already been done in the realm of animated humor.

The series stands out for its abundant cultural references, which can range from small nods to being the central focus of an episode. A notable example is the episode “The Aliens of Unexpected Twists,” which not only pays tribute to the films of M. Night Shyamalan but also offers a meta-reflection on them. This focus on cultural references is not just a nostalgic exercise; it also allows the episodes to not become outdated quickly, as the writers have anticipated writing episodes for the tenth season.

Aside from ‘Rick and Morty’, Harmon is known for his work on ‘Community’, where he also explored the parody of classics from film and television. Thus, he has forged his reputation as a benchmark in cultural satire, always seeking to bring a fresh and original air to each new project.

The highly anticipated eighth season of Rick and Morty is confirmed to premiere on May 25 on Adult Swim and later on Max. The date was revealed during a special episode aired on April Fool’s Day, which surprised fans with a compilation of iconic moments from the series, using a live theater format. This blend of absurd humor and dramatic elements is a hallmark of the series, from which we never know what to expect because we’ve had everything throughout its seasons. What is clear is that it will offer us formats not seen before.

When you realize that nothing matters, the universe is yours

The announcement, while celebrated by the show’s die-hard fans, has generated a wave of speculation about the narrative twists and character development in this new installment. The creators, Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, are known for their ability to surprise the audience, and the same dynamic is expected for this eighth season. With the series having dealt with complex themes and surreal situations in previous seasons, many are wondering how they will continue the story of the mad scientist and his grandson.

As the premiere date approaches, interest in Rick and Morty continues to grow, with fans discussing theories and potential plots on social media. Some rumors may suggest that the new season will include collaborations with other artists and new dimensions that expand the already complex multiverse presented in the series. However, official details are still limited, and fans will have to wait until May 25 to find out what the future holds for Rick, Morty, and the rest of the cast.

We have a release date for the Rick and Morty anime

We now have a release date for the Rick and Morty anime, and while it hasn’t been confirmed 100% that the premiere will be worldwide, it looks like it will be possible to watch it on Max.

Rick and Morty is one of the most important animated series of our time. That hasn’t stopped its cadence from always being erratic and never having problems taking its time to launch projects. That’s why we’ve been waiting for two years since the anime spinoff of Rick and Morty was announced. Although, it seems, that the wait has finally been worth it.

Rick and Morty: The Anime will premiere on Thursday, August 15th at midnight on Adult Swim. This series is directed by Takashi Sano, director of recent successful animes such as the adaptation of the manwha Tower of God. This gives us some assurance that this adaptation will be a quality anime and not just a way to capitalize on the success of Rick and Morty without adding something of its own. Or something closer to the spirit of anime.

If you are interested in watching it and you are not in the United States, you don’t have to worry, Max will premiere the series the day after its television premiere. Although they have not confirmed if it will be a worldwide premiere, there is no reason to believe otherwise, given the success of Rick and Morty, so mark your calendar for Friday, August 16th on Max.

Rick and Morty is back, in anime form!

Rick and Morty is returning before its eighth season in the form of an anime directed by the director of two popular anime shorts from the series.

When a series becomes popular, it is normal for it to have many different iterations. It adapts to different media, grows; it ends up seeming like it’s a bit everywhere. It’s natural, it’s healthy, and it shows the interest and appreciation for that series. That’s why we shouldn’t be surprised that Rick and Morty are going to have a spinoff. Nor that its premise revolves around it being an anime series.

Announced on May 18, 2022, we hadn’t heard much about this spinoff in almost a year and a half. This has caused many people to forget about it, or even consider it dead, but Rick and Morty: The Anime is still in progress. And apparently, we will have it soon. Because recently we have been able to see a new clip of the series, which should have premiered this fall.

Not even reaching fifty seconds, in the clip we can see Rick piloting a spaceship having to face an army of clones of himself from an alternate universe. While this doesn’t give us new details about the series, what is clear is that it feels very Rick and Morty in its presentation.

Fortunately, what we know is that this series is in very good hands. In addition to being produced by Telecom Animation Film, known for series like Tower of God or Shenmue: The Animation, its director is a familiar face in the franchise. Taking on the direction is Takahashi Sano, who was in charge of two animated shorts of the series, Rick and Morty vs. Genocider and Summer Meets God (Rick Meets Evil), which have generated over twenty-seven million combined views.

In any case, in order to watch the series, we will still have to wait a little longer. Without a specific release date, all we know is that it will premiere during the first quarter of 2024. Therefore, unless something goes wrong, we will soon be able to enjoy more adventures of Rick and Morty, without having to wait until the premiere of its eighth season.
