Apple’s Apple TV 4K looks lined up for a hardware refresh on October 13, 2026, if the current reporting holds. The update is said to bring a smarter Siri, a newer A-series chip, and the first real revision since the 2022 model.
The box is also expected to be part of Apple’s mid-October push for the home, alongside a smart home hub and an updated HomePod mini. Most of the changes, though, sound like they’re happening inside the device rather than on the outside.
From what’s been reported so far, Apple isn’t expected to do much with the physical design. The bigger software change could be in tvOS, which may finally pick up the newer on-device Siri Apple has already shown on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Vision Pro. If that happens, it should make search, recommendations, InSight, and general knowledge requests feel a lot better from the couch.
Chip rumors are all over the place, but they point in the same direction: a clear jump from the current A15 Bionic. The possibilities mentioned so far include the A17 Pro, A19, A19 Pro, and even A20 Pro. Right now, A19 seems to be the favorite, after an “AppleTV18,1” identifier reportedly turned up in Apple code. There’s also talk of memory going from 4GB to either 8GB or 12GB, plus an N1 wireless chip with Wi‑Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.
If you use an Apple TV 4K all the time, this may be the one to wait for. That said, there are still open questions around possible Siri Remote changes, international pricing, and whatever Apple plans to do next with gaming on the platform.
If Apple sticks to the reported timeline, the new Apple TV 4K should go on sale through Apple in mid-October.
