Netflix tests ‘random play’ feature

Tired of deciding what new show to start? Netflix is testing a new tool that may give you an option!

It happens time and time again. You have about an hour or so to kill, so you look for something to watch on Netflix. You search and search for shows and movies to watch, but nothing tickles your fancy. Suddenly, you realize 40 minutes have passed by, and you lost your shot.

First discovered by Android Police, Netflix is testing a feature that will allow users to randomly watch an episode of a show.

Netflix random episode

This tool may not be suitable for every show. You could randomly get sent to an episode of “Breaking Bad” and have no idea what’s happening. On the other hand, you could get thrown into a random episode of “Jeopardy” and have no issue.

“We are testing the ability for members to play a random episode from different TV series on the Android mobile app,” a Netflix spokesperson told Variety. “These tests typically vary in length of time and by region, and may not become permanent.”

It is yet to been seen whether this feature will be available on all devices, as it was only discovered on the Android app. Whether or not this tool will become a permanent feature is up in the air.

Russo brothers announce Endgame is their last MCU film

It is the end of an era as Joe and Anthony Russo announce they are leaving the MCU for the foreseeable future.

Captain America Endgame

They gave it whatever it took.

Joe and Anthony Russo have announced that “Avengers: Endgame” will be their last MCU film for the foreseeable future.

The Russo brothers began started directing films in the MCU in 2014 with “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” They have also directed “Captain America: Civil War” and “Avengers: Infinity War.”

“It’s our Endgame, at least for now,” said Anthony Russo in an interview with GamesRadar. “We don’t have any plans for now to make any more Marvel movies. It certainly may come up in the future at some point. We have a wonderful working relationship with [Marvel Studios] and a great passion for what they’re doing.”

The Russo brothers have other non-MCU projects on the horizon, according to IMDb.

The brothers have teamed up with Tom Holland who plays Spider-Man in the MCU for a new movie called “Cherry.” The movie is about an army medic who becomes a drug addict and a bank robber.

Although it is not part of the MCU, the Russo brothers recently announced a project about Marvel’s greatest hero, Stan Lee.

Stan Lee

“We are fascinated by the life of Stan Lee and we are actually developing a little something that has to do with his work in the history of Marvel,” said Anthony Russo in an interview with Cinemablend. “But we are not ready to present it or talk about it yet. It’s more of a documentary.”

Seeing the Russo brothers leave the MCU is upsetting. The movies they made for the MCU are some of the best it has to offer. “Avengers: Endgame” had the biggest opening weekend in film history.

We’re sad to see the Russo brothers go. Their love and commitment to the characters have been a joy to witness. We don’t know much about who may or may not be replacing them. Jon Watts will return as director for “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” and Scott Derrickson is set to direct the next Doctor Strange film. However, we don’t know who will direct the next MCU team-up film. Whoever it may be, they have big shoes to fill.

Amazon Prime works toward free one-day shipping

Prime members will soon be getting free one-day shipping.

Prime members may be getting a sweet new deal.

According to a recent article from CNBC, Amazon Prime members will soon have free one-day shipping. One-day shipping would then be the new standard on Prime.

We’re currently working on evolving our prime free two-day shipping program to be a free one-day shipping program, ” Amazon CFO Brian Olsavsky said.

Amazon will spend about $800 million on warehouses and improving delivery to make the transition possible.

The change won’t take place all at once. The company is expected to take the change a little at a time, quarter by quarter.

Amazon Prime currently costs $12.99 a month, and $6.49 per month for students.

What does this mean?

Amazon delivery

Amazon already offers free one-day shipping on many products for Prime members. However, this change will eventually spread to the majority of the products offered.

Amazon currently has about 103 million Prime members. They are without a doubt the current kings of shipping and retail. Companies like Target and Walmart are going to need to step up their game and make changes to their business model in order to compete.

The question as to whether or not Amazon is good for the country is up for debate. Amazon recently came under a harsh light when it was revealed that they did not pay any federal income tax in 2018 on $1.1 billion in profit. The company also received more than $120 million in tax breaks.

Prime members will enjoy this perk once it is available for their home, but until then, maybe we should look into shopping local.

Top 7 Stan Lee Cameos

Marvel announces that Avengers: Endgame will be Stan Lee’s last cameo. Check out our favorites here!

Stan Lee cameoExcelsior!

Stan Lee was more than just the father of all things Marvel comics; he was an icon in the industry.

Throughout his time with Marvel, Lee appeared in television shows, video games, and, of course, movies. Audience members sit in anticipation throughout a movie waiting to see when Lee will grace the screen. His cameos have ranged from hilarious to heartwarming.

Due to his death last November, Marvel has announced that his final cameo will be in “Avengers: Endgame.”

Below, we compiled our favorite Stan Lee cameos from movies throughout the ages. We will not be including appearances in film or on television. With that said, his cameo appearance in Insomniac’s Spider-Man,  and his hilarious role on an episode of “The Simpsons,” will not be included.

7 best Stan Lee movie cameo scenes

7. Deadpool

Deadpool Stan Lee cameoWhen “Deadpool” first came out, the R-rating had us wondering if and how Marvel would use Stan Lee. He always gave off a wholesome, grandfatherly vibe, and Deadpool’s crude nature might tarnish that image. Marvel decided to veer into the skid by making Lee the announcer at a strip club. Guess what. It was hilarious!

6. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Guardians 2 Stan LeeBy the time “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” came out in 2017, Lee had already appeared in more than a dozen titles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Around this time, a theory had been buzzing around the internet that Lee’s character in the movies was actually one of the Watchers. The Watchers are extra-terrestrial beings who, well, watch the universe.

Marvel decided to have some fun with fans, and show Lee talking to a group of Watchers while explaining to them all the different characters he has been throughout the MCU. Whether or not this was a joke or a hint at things to come, we were just glad that Marvel was listening to us.

5. Iron Man

Stan Lee Iron Man

“You look great, Hef.”

About a year prior to Lee’s passing, Playboy founder Hugh Hefner passed away. The two had been friends throughout the years. The two also worked together and created a series and a brief comic strip for Playboy.

It was only fitting for Lee to impersonate his friend in 2008’s “Iron Man.” As Tony Stark walks into a party filled with celebrities, he stops to greet “Hef” who is standing outside with some lovely models.

4. The Amazing Spider-Man

Stan Lee Amazing SpidermanSometimes Stan Lee can say nothing and have an absolutely hilarious cameo.

In “The Amazing Spider-Man,” Lee finds himself listening to music at a high school library… for some reason. Unbeknownst to him, Spidey and Lizard are fighting in the background. As the two clash back and forth, Lee narrowly avoids getting hit by a desk as he quietly jams out to classical music.

3. Mallrats

Stan Lee Mallrats“I think you outta get him some help. He seems to be hung up on superhero sex organs.”

If you ran into Stan Lee on the street, what questions would you want to ask him? Hopefully, your choices would be less perverted than Brodie’s in “Mallrats.”

In the scene, Brodie finds himself down on his luck. His girlfriend does not understand his obsession with comics and video games, and he doesn’t know which means more to him. Almost like a guardian angel, Stan Lee descends from the heavens to give him life advice.

Sadly, Stan Lee is no longer around to give you advice for your love life, but you can read this story to learn how he created his characters:

2.  Teen Titans Go! To the Movies

Stan Lee Teen Titans“This is a DC movie? Oh geez, I gotta get out of here.”

Stan Lee’s eccentric, charismatic personality never got its justice on film. However, when Stan Lee was animated in “Teen Titans Go! To the Movies,” we got to see all of his personality out in the open.

As he jokes while breaking the fourth wall, someone on set tells him that he is doing a cameo in a DC movie. Realizing his mistake, Lee bolts out of there.

1. Spider-Man 3

Stan Lee Spider-Man

In the first two Spider-Man films from Sam Raimi, the people of New York City have mixed feelings about the web-slinger. Despite the fact that he has saved the city over and over again, he still has his critics (not just J. Jonah Jameson).

Finally, in “Spider-Man 3” Spidey has the love and appreciation of the entire city. After saving Gwen Stacy, Peter Parker walks through the city and sees a news report saying that Spider-Man will receive the key to the city.

As Parker reads the news, a string of emotions comes across his face as he processes the news. Before he can say anything, Stan Lee walks up to him to offer his two cents.

“You know, I guess one person can make a difference.”

The words have dual-meaning as they represent what Spidey has done for the city, and what Lee has done for Marvel comics and the comic book industry in general.

Although “Spider-Man 3” might not be the best Spider-Man movie by a longshot, it does have our favorite moment from our favorite comic book legend.

Leaked Instagram update shows hidden “like” count

A new leak shows that Instagram may hide how many likes a post generated from the poster’s audience

Instagram prototypeIn a leak discovered by reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong, Instagram might be bidding adieu to the like-counter.

The prototype shows that audience members who view posts won’t be able to see how many likes a post gained.

“We want your followers to focus on what you share, not how many likes your posts get,” Instagram writes in an in-app message. “During this test, only the person who shares a post will see the total number of likes it gets.

In an interview with Techcrunch, an Instagram spokesperson confirmed that the leak is a prototype from Instagram

“We’re not testing this at the moment, but exploring ways to reduce pressure on Instagram is something we’re always thinking about,” the spokesperson said.

Whether removing the like count from audiences’ eyes will “reduce pressure” remains to be seen. Not having to worry about your post being judged by its amount of likes, but for its content sounds good in theory. We’re up for anything that helps our mental health. If Instagram can prove that hiding like totals helps us feel better, we can only hope that Facebook and Twitter follow suit.

Where does the MCU go after Endgame?

As the MCU gets a major shake-up from Endgame, what can we expect in future titles?

Thanos gauntlet

We’re in the Endgame now, and it’s glorious.

“Avengers: Endgame” is here, and with it comes major changes to the MCU. If you have seen the movie, and want to both recap the film and further the discussion, continue reading. If you haven’t seen it, read at your own volition because SPOILERS are ahead. As for the rest of you, buckle up. We have a lot to talk about:

Where does the MCU go after Endgame? SPOILERS BELOW

The AvengersThe original team is pretty much shot

Let’s recap who is left standing, and who is still ready to fight. Captain America has retired and is no longer in fighting condition even if he wanted to come back. Iron Man and Black Widow are both dead. Hulk MIGHT have permanently damaged his arm from using the Infinity Stones. Thor may be able to come back to Earth if he’s needed, but for now, he appears to have joined the Guardians of the Galaxy.

As for Hawkeye, his adventures are far from over. A spin-off Hawkeye series starring Jeremy Renner has been announced for Disney+. We are definitely excited for Disney+ and the show, and we think we have an idea of what the show might entail.

The Hawkeye show will follow him as he trains a potential new Hawkeye, Kate Bishop. This may not be the only person Hawkeye helps train. As one of the only remaining OG Avengers left, Hawkeye may take it upon himself to train a new team altogether. Referred to in the comics as the New Avengers, the new superhero squad may be the future of the MCU.

So who’s dead?

Gamora

To make it clear, Disney and Marvel could change their mind at any time and bring whoever they want back to life. Although we say these characters are dead, we can’t say for certain.

The feeling we got from Endgame is that if you died from the first snap, you’re alive now. However, if you died by other means you’re probably still dead.

The Gamora we knew is most likely dead. The movie made it clear that if you are sacrificed to get the Soul Stone, you’re not coming back. However, we now have a Gamora from a completely different timeline. We don’t know with 100% certainty whether or not she got dusted in Tony’s final snap. We just can’t imagine her final moment with Starlord would’ve been a knee to the balls. Although, we all wanted to do that to him after he inadvertently caused the first snap.

Both Black Widow and Iron Man are both probably completely dead. Black Widow got Soul Stone-d, and Iron Man couldn’t handle the power of the Infinity Stones. However, that doesn’t mean we are done seeing Scarlett Johansson and Robert Downey Jr. in MCU movies.

Scarlett Johansson is set to do a standalone Black Widow movie. As we don’t know much about her origins in the MCU, an origin story seems like the best route. As to who the villain may or may not be, we think it might just be Winter Soldier as the two have a history.

We don’t see Iron Man coming back to life any time soon. His death seemed very final and fitting for the character. We could see Robert Downey Jr. reprising the role in a prequel, but unless he comes back like how Cap did in “Secret Invasion,” we don’t see him returning.

That just leaves two main heroes that died from something other than the snap, Heimdall and Vision. Heimdall was stabbed by Thanos at the beginning of “Avengers: Infinity War.” The reverse snap didn’t bring him back to life, so we can assume Idris Elba won’t be returning to the MCU. As for Vision, we’re pretty sure he’s coming back, and Disney has all but confirmed it.

“WandaVision” is set to come out for Disney+. We don’t know many details about the show other than the fact that Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany will be reprising their roles. The two lived together in secret between “Captain America: Civil War” and “Avengers: Infinity War.” Although it is possible the show takes place between those films, it is much more likely that Black Panther’s sister Shuri figured out how to bring Vision back without the Mind Stone.

What about Loki and the Loki show on Disney+?

Loki

So here’s where things get a little complicated. In “Avengers: Infinity War,” Loki 100% died. However, due to some tomfoolery with time travel, Loki isn’t gone in every timeline.

After fumbling around with the Space Stone during the events of the original Avengers, Loki was able to snatch it and make an escape. Tom Hiddleston is starring as Loki in a series for Disney+ as well.

Our guess is that the show will follow this alternate timeline Loki. As the God of Mischief, we are guessing that this new timeline will suffer some wild results. It could be that this show will follow in the tracks of the “What If” series. It’s a bit of a pipe dream to expect Robert Downey Jr. or Chris Evans to make regular appearances on a “What If” style show. However, cameos here and there from various Avengers would be appreciated.

Falcon is the new Captain America

Falcon Captain AmericaAlong with passing Falcon his shield, Steve Rogers also passed him the torch.

Fans have speculated if Falcon or Winter Soldier would take up the mantle of Captain America if Steve Rogers were to die or retire. Both have replaced Rogers in the comics, so both were suitable replacements. When Falcon strapped the shield to his arm, we couldn’t have been happier. Anthony Mackie has been doing a great job as Falcon, and we are excited to see what he does moving forward with Disney+’s “Falcon and The Winter Soldier.”

We can’t imagine Falcon retiring his wings. However, we can imagine him in a more star-spangled outfit along with busting out the vibranium shield from time to time.

The Asgardians of the Galaxy

Asgardians of the galaxy

Thor’s throwaway joke at the end of Endgame may not be entirely inaccurate.

When Thor referred to the Guardians of the Galaxy as the “Asgardians of the Galaxy,” he may have given a small clue. “Asgardians of the Galaxy” is actually a comic series from Marvel. It features several powerful Asgardians and their adventures throughout the galaxy.

We don’t expect the full cast of Asgardians of the Galaxy to make their way to “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” but we could see a few characters making appearances. Since we already have a talking raccoon, why not add a talking frog and a weird horse-thing?

Movies we know are coming

Although we only have a trailer for “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” there are still more upcoming MCU films confirmed by Disney and Marvel.

An article from Time confirms several upcoming MCU films as well as upcoming Marvel films in general. Along with another Spider-Man movie, we are also getting sequels for Black Panther, the Guardians of the Galaxy and Doctor Strange.

Kevin Feige recently confirmed a movie featuring the Eternals. The Eternals are another superhero team. They are like the Avengers meet the Guardians of the Galaxy. They defend Earth, but they also travel through the galaxy. Thanos was a member of the Eternals in the comics, so it will interesting to see if he makes an appearance in a flashback.

The Eternals

Marvel has also confirmed a standalone Shang-Chi movie. Shang-Chi is a martial arts master similar to Iron Fist. We don’t have any plot details or even casting decisions, but if we get something similar to a Jet Li or Bruce Lee movie, we’ll be happy.

Finally, we know that we are getting a Ms. Marvel film. As for this one, we actually know a few things. This iteration of Ms. Marvel will be Kamala Khan, a teenage Pakistani girl living in New Jersey. Khan idolizes Captain Marvel and is taught how to be a hero by her. We don’t have casting decisions or a release date yet, but we really have our hopes up for this one.

What can we assume for the sequels?

The “Spider-Man: Far From Home” trailer shows Peter with Ned, MJ, Flash and Aunt May. As none of them appear to have aged much since “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” we’re guessing they all were killed in the snap, or else they would be five years older.

There is a theory that the film takes place before “Avengers: Infinity War.” However, a Sony producer recently told Insider that the film takes place not long after “Avengers: Endgame.”

There are two big loose ends that we can expect to be cleared up in upcoming sequels. First and foremost is Adam Warlock:

Adam Warlock is more than likely going to be the main focus of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.” It has yet to be confirmed whether or not Zoe Saldana will reprise her role as Gamora, but we don’t see her being omitted altogether. What we do know is that a movie with Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy fighting Adam Warlock sounds incredible.

At the end of “Doctor Strange,” Chiwetel Ejiofor’s character Mordo announces his plans to kill the Earth’s wizards. The question remains whether or not Mordo was killed in the snap. If he wasn’t, what has he been doing? If he was, has he had a change of heart? We don’t know much about “Doctor Strange 2,” but we are expecting to see Mordo and Doctor Strange settle the score.

Wrapping up

“Avengers Endgame” was just about perfect.

Three words: Cap wields Mjolnir.

We got the fan service we’ve been craving, and we aren’t left with too many unanswered questions. Although we are sad to see some of our heroes bite the dust, we are left completely satisfied.

Coolest Easter eggs in Endgame

SPOILERS INBOUND: Check out the coolest Easter eggs in Endgame

thanos scarecrow

If we were to list each and every Easter egg and reference in “Avengers: Endgame,” we would basically recite the entire film line for line. The movie has references to nearly all of the 20+ films in the MCU, and it is not shy about using them.

Rather than basically typing out the movie in its entirety, we thought we’d narrow it down to the best. Read at your own will; there are spoilers ahead.

The coolest Easter eggs in Endgame SPOILERS BELOW

The classic Ant-Man suit

Classic Ant-manAfter going back in time to retrieve the Space Stone, Captain America finds himself in Hank Pym‘s lab. Pym, the original Ant-Man, is stockpiling Pym particles, which the Avengers need in order to travel through time. However, the Pym particles aren’t the only piece of Ant-Man tech in his lab. On Pym’s desk is a classic, chrome helmet sprouting antenna. The helmet is a direct reference to Ant-Man’s original costume from the comics.

Harley pays his respects… because they’re connected

“Iron Man 3” may not be the best MCU movie by a longshot, but it did have several funny scenes with Tony Stark and his plucky sidekick in the film, Harley.

It’s been a while since we last saw Stark’s first boy wonder or even heard from him. However, during Tony’s funeral Harley does show up to pay his respects. As the camera pans to all the mourners in attendance, we can see Harley in the corner of the screen near Scott Lang and the Pym family.

“Community” callback

Community

The directors of Endgame, the Russo brothers, were also executive producers for the comedy show “Community.” While making Endgame, the directing duo decided to bring some old friends to work on the project, Ken Jeong and Yvette Nicole Brown. Jeong plays a security guard who is surprised when Ant-Man makes his way back through the Quantum Realm. Brown can be seen playing a worker at the army base who gets confused when she runs into Iron Man and Captain America inside an elevator.

New Asgard

After the destruction of Asgard and about half of the remaining Asgardians, Thor brought the residents of his kingdom to a small town in Norway called  Tønsberg. However, this is not the first time we have seen this place.

That’s right; this was the same Norwegian town where Red Skull stole the Tesseract in “Captain America: The First Avenger.” Crazy enough, this still isn’t the only time we’ve seen it:

After Loki sent Odin to a retirement community on Earth, Doctor Strange moved the aging king to Tønsberg. In a later vision, Odin tells Thor, “Asgard is not a place; it’s a people.” He then looks around at the area they’re in and says, “This could be Asgard.” Little did we know how right he was.

Hail Hydra

Captain America Hail Hydra

In one of the most satisfying scenes in the movie, Captain America rides in an elevator with several Hydra sleeper agents. The scene is a callback to the elevator action scene from “Captain America: The Winter Soldier:”

However, this scene doesn’t end with Cap throwing haymakers around. Instead, Cap whispers “Hail Hydra” in the ear of one of the agents. The agent looks confused but ends up trusting him. Along with being a callback to the Winter Soldier movie, the scene is also a reference to the Marvel comic series “Secret Empire.”  In the series, the writers controversially make Captain America himself a Hydra sleeper agent. Some fans were put off by the symbol of American justice and liberty siding with fascist/terrorists. We’re just happy the Russo brothers included this awesome scene.

On your left

The first time we see Falcon in the MCU is in a comical scene in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier:”

Cap continues to lap Falcon during their morning run, constantly saying, “On your left,” as he passes him.

However, in Endgame it is Falcon who finally gets to say the line to Captain America. As Cap faces down Thanos and his army, he gets a message from Falcon who tells him, “On your left.” Right as he says it, the fallen Avengers begin to reappear on the battlefield.

All the cheeseburgers you want

In the very first MCU movie, Tony Stark gives his short list of demands for what he wants after escaping the Ten Rings:

In one of Endgame’s most touching moments, Tony Stark’s friend Happy Hogan sits on a bench with Stark’s daughter Morgan moments after his funeral. Hogan tries to comfort the little girl by asking if he can get her anything. When she says she wants a cheeseburger, Hogan’s eyes begin to well up with tears, and so did ours.

A long-awaited dance

Peggy Carter

Yeah, we all cried when we saw Cap and Peggy Carter finally dance together. The dance was a reference to the first Captain America film, where the two make plans to go out dancing together as Cap faces certain doom.  However, we aren’t here to talk about the dance; we’re talking about the song:

“It’s Been a Long Long Time” not only has an ironic name, but it also has a history in the MCU. In “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” the song is playing in Cap’s apartment in the scene where he talks to Nick Fury about S.H.I.E.L.D. being compromised. The scene is a beautiful moment we never thought we were going to see, but we are thrilled we did.

Much more than just Easter eggs

If you’ve seen Endgame, you know that the movie is much more than just Easter eggs and references. With that being said, we loved seeing these and the dozens of other callbacks to other Marvel titles. Tell us in the comments below what your favorites were, and what you thought about the movie.

What happens to your Facebook page after you die?

Take these steps today to assist your loved ones after you’re gone.

Digital grave

Even though our physical bodies have a relatively short shelf life, our online presence is basically immortal.

If you’re like us, it’s hard to go even half an hour without checking Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. If you’re going to invest that much time into your social media presence, you might as well make sure it’s taken care of when your time is up.

Chance are you know someone who has died, but their Facebook page lives on for their friends and family. Facebook has several options for you and your own page for when your time comes.

Below, we listed your options for digging your digital grave on Facebook.

What will the Facebook AI do for you?

It can be an awkward and depressing moment when Facebook suggests that you wish a happy birthday to your deceased friend. It’s even worse when Facebook suggest that you invite your dead grandfather to your birthday party.

Luckily, Facebook announced that new AI will stop profiles of deceased users from popping up in painful situations. (It’s unsettling to think exactly how this AI will know we’ve passed away. Details are unknown.)

Memorialized Facebook page

Memorialized Facebook page

There are currently more than 2 billion users on Facebook. Of those 2 billion, there are millions of dead users.

For the dearly departed, Facebook does have the option to memorialize your account. Facebook’s Help Center lists the following features for memorialized pages:

  • The word “Remembering” will be shown next to the person’s name on their profile.
  • Depending on the privacy settings of the account, friends can share memories on the memorialized timeline.
  • Content the person shared stays on Facebook and is visible on Facebook to the user’s audience.
  • Memorialized profiles don’t appear in public spaces such as in suggestions for People You May Know, ads or birthday reminders.
  • No one can log into a memorialized account.
  • Memorialized accounts that don’t have a legacy contact can’t be changed.
  • Pages with a sole admin whose account was memorialized will be removed from Facebook if we receive a valid request.

Facebook tributes

Facebook is also offering a tributes section on memorialized pages. Aside from what normally appears on the timeline, users can click a tab to see posts from others offering condolences.

Tributes are meant to allow grieving friends and family members to sift through their loved one’s content easily.

Facebook Tributes

Designate a legacy account on Facebook

To reduce confusion, setting up a legacy contact is a good best practice for Facebook users.

From the home page access the settings menu. From settings, click the “Manage Account” tab. From here, you can send a request to a trusted friend or family member to serve as your legacy contact.

Legacy contactYour legacy contact has permission to do the following to your page, according to the Facebook Help Center:

  • Write a pinned post for your profile (example: to share a final message on your behalf or provide information about a memorial service).
  • View posts, even if you had set your privacy to “Only Me.”
  • Decide who can see and who can post tributes, if the memorialized account has an area for tributes.
  • Delete tribute posts.
  • Change who can see posts that you’re tagged in.
  • Remove tags of you that someone else has posted.
  • Respond to new friend requests (For example: old friends or family members who weren’t yet on Facebook).
  • Update your profile picture and cover photo.
  • Your legacy contact will be able to turn off the requirement to review posts and tags before they appear in the tributes section.
  • Request the removal of your account.

Your legacy contact will not have the ability to log into your actual account. This means that they cannot read your messages, or remove or add friends. Legacy contacts can respond to friend requests, but cannot actively seek out friends.

Users under 18 cannot designate a legacy contact, but Facebook now allows the parents of the user to serve as the legacy contact.

Paying respects to Facebook

You could easily leave a note for your next of kin saying, “Here’s my login info; sign in and delete my account.” However, Facebook has streamlined the process with all these features so you don’t have to worry.

While grieving, the last thing most of us are thinking about is the online persona of the dearly departed. When the time comes to work on their Facebook page, Facebook has given you the tools to make the process as painless as possible.

DC unveils first trailer for ‘Swamp Thing’ show

Swamp Thing gets a teaser trailer and a release date.

Swamp ThingWow, the new live-action Shrek show looks bananas.

DC’s “Swamp Thing” got its first teaser trailer as well as a May 31 release date.

The show will be available to watch on DC Universe.

According to DC, “Swamp Thing” follows Abby Arcane as she investigates what seems to be a deadly swamp-born virus in a small town in Louisiana. She soon discovers that the swamp holds mystical and terrifying secrets. When unexplainable and chilling horrors emerge from the murky marsh, no one is safe.

5 worst live-action adaptations of animated shows

From the bad to the really bad, what live-action remake tops our terrible list?

Full Metal Alchemist Live ActionWith a live-action “Cowboy Bebop” and “Akira” on the way, fans should be ecstatic for the new interpretations of these beloved stories. Unfortunately, our cries of joy are nothing compared to our cries of sorrow as we pray that the two projects just don’t suck.

Fans are keeping their hopes in check. “Akira” will have major changes to characters. For example, Kaneda is no longer in a bike gang, but a bar owner instead. John Cho was recently cast as Spike Spiegel, the lead role in “Cowboy Bebop.” Fans are worried because although he is a good actor, he is also nearly 50 and the role requires a lot of stunts and martial arts.

Live-action versions of animated shows and movies have mixed results. Sometimes we get a decent adaptation, and other times we get to see Goku become “Geeko” in one of the biggest film abominations ever created.

For this list, we decided to look at the live-action film adaptations of animated shows. We decided to cut some slack for movies aimed at little kids. For example, the target audience for movies like “The Smurfs” is too young to really care or even remember the originals.

5 worst live-action adaptations of animated stories

5. The Michael Bay Transformers movies

Optimus Prime Michael Bay has become a bit of a meme because of these movies.

There have been five main series movies, one spin-off, and more films planned in this increasingly disappointing franchise. The films have decent action at times, but the over-reliance on over-the-top explosions makes them stale.

Many fans agree that the first film has its flaws, but it is decent in the long-run. After the first one, the films go from decent to bad to unwatchable. “Transformers: Age of Extinction” was the closest we’ve come to walking out of the movie theater.

4. Attack on Titan

Attack on Titan live action

Are you the prey? No, we are the humiliated.

When news first hit that “Attack on Titan” was getting a live-action film, a lot of people were excited because the show was such a smash hit. The hype was very real. Initial posters and trailers showed pretty rough CG titans, but they were at least passable. There was even a car commercial that showed pretty intense action:

In the show, the scouts have individual personalities unique to their characters, making their fates all the more tragic. In the movie, nobody really sticks out as everyone just blends together. There are also several huge character omissions such as Annie and fan-favorite Levi.

In the show, scouts ride horses and fight using their swords. In the movie, they sometimes use swords, but they rely on guns and drive in cars. Cars!

We could go on and on about how awful this movie was, but we still have three more to get through. If you’re a fan of the show, 3D maneuver yourself away from this mess.

3. Death Note

Screaming Light Death NoteWe really thought this one had a chance.

With the casting of Willem Dafoe as Ryuk, fans thought that Netflix’s live-action “Death Note,” might be worth the watch.

Although Dafoe did a decent job voicing Ryuk, the CG shinigami looked like something from a PS2 game. Sadly, the shoddy effects were far from the film’s biggest issues.

Light is done completely wrong. He isn’t cool and collected; he is brash and annoying. He cares more about making his girlfriend like him than he does becoming a god of the new world.

To see for yourself just how badly Light is portrayed, watch this video comparing him meeting Ryuk for the first time:

Most fans agree that the best character in “Death Note” is L. L is the Sherlock Holmes to Light’s Moriarty. He is quirky, unintentionally hilarious, and ridiculously cool. The movie casts LaKeith Stanfield who is incredible in movies like “Sorry to Bother You” and “Get Out,” but is just miscast here.

He comes off as an action hero trying too hard to be a nerd. The filmmakers would’ve been better off casting someone like Donald Glover who is more comfortable playing a quiet geek.

By the end of the film, we didn’t want more; we wanted Light to write our names in the notebook.

2. The Last Airbender

The Last AirbenderLong ago, the series lived in harmony in the hearts of fans everywhere. Then, everything changed when the Shyamalan attacked.

“Avatar: The Last Airbender” is regarded as one of the greatest animated shows to ever come out of the U.S. Tragically, its cast of memorable characters and timeless story are nowhere to be found in this film by M. Night Shyamalan.

The movie has downright weird casting decisions, shoddy acting, and action scenes about as exciting as Sunday School.

It’s too early to say whether or not the live-action series coming out on Netflix will be any good. The show will have the original creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko working on it, so that is a plus. The best piece of advice we can give them is to do the exact opposite of what Shyamalan did.

The thing that hurts most about this movie is what it could have been. An Avatar sage divided into several yearly installments could have been on par with the Harry Potter film franchise. What we instead got was a film that couldn’t hold water, let alone air, fire, or earth.

1. Dragonball Evolution

Dragonball Evolution

You could show this movie on an airplane and people would walk out on it.

“Dragonball Evolution” takes the beloved Dragon Ball characters and captures none of the magic from the franchise. Also, “Dragon Ball” is two words, not one. Get it right, movie!

Rather than being a warrior in constant training to defeat himself, Goku is a high schooler who just wants his crush to notice him. Rather than being an ape the size of a mountain, the Oozaru looks more like your friend in a cheap gorilla suit.

All of the movies on this list are bad, but “Dragonball Evolution” truly belongs in its own category of terrible.
