New Twitter feature has more Retweet options

Retweet other users with GIF, photos, and video!

Twitter retweet

Twitter has announced that users can now Retweet with GIFs, photos, and videos.

Basically, users can now Retweet with a visual that allows them to express more emotion toward what they are retweeting.

This feature has been highly requested by users for a while.

According to Twitter, the new feature will include the following:

  • Clearer visual hierarchy with a condensed inner Tweet
  • Including an avatar in the inner Tweet to give more context helping you quickly see who’s talking
  • Simple box container for easier interacting

Twitter also announced plans for more retweeting options. Though the message was cryptic, we look forward to seeing the update:

“Another update is coming soon to make Retweets with media more interactive and easier to read … we’re also exploring more ways to help people express themselves,” according to Twitter.

‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ trailer teases multi-verse

Does this trailer mean we are getting to see more of the Spider-Verse? Let’s talk about that.

SPOILERS BELOW!

Spider-Man

As Tom Holland says at the beginning of the trailer, if you haven’t seen “Endgame” yet, stop right now. There are spoilers ahead!

After the hype train that was “Avengers: Endgame,” we are ready to hop aboard the next one with “Spider-Man: Far From Home:”

In the “Endgame” aftermath, Peter Parker needs to learn how to live in a world without Iron Man. While fighting crime across the Big Apple, Spider-Man decides to take a vacation with his friends. Around this time, Nick Fury is trying to get ahold of him, but Spidey ignores his calls.

Spider-Man Iron Man

After the events of “Avengers: Infinity War,” and “Endgame,” Peter has suffered great losses, including his own life, until being snapped back to reality (oh, there goes gravity). We may be seeing a Spider-Man who understands the consequences of being a superhero, so he may want to live life as a normal teenager for a while.

The trailer also gives us another look at Jake Gyllenhaal playing Quentin Beck/Mysterio. Beck appears to be working with Nick Fury on the side of good. He also claims to be from an alternate universe and got there after Thanos snapped his fingers. Fury wants Mysterio and Spider-Man to team up to take down threats that slipped in from alternate universes.

Mysterio

In the comics, Quentin Beck lies about being an alien from another world, so this multi-verse talk might be hot air. Our guess is that Beck is full of it, and the monsters they are facing are under Beck’s control. With Iron Man out of the picture, Beck might be trying to take the role of Earth’s mightiest hero. However, if Beck isn’t lying, then we might get introduced to a live-action Spider-Verse.

Since the trailer confirmed that the movie takes place after the events of Endgame, we now know for certain that Ned, Flash, and MJ all also died from the first snap, and were brought back by the second.

Spider-Man MJ

Peter and MJ look like they’re headed for romance in this film, but it will be taking a backseat to the rest of the story. MJ also reveals in the trailer that she knows that Peter is Spider-Man, so now, basically everyone who knows Peter also knows his secret identity.

We’re excited for “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” and we luckily don’t have to wait too long. The movie is set to release on July 2 of this year, and we can’t wait to see it. “Endgame” was satisfying but left us wanting more. Thankfully, Spider-Man is on the way.

Facebook Dating to offer service to connect crushes

Facebook is entering the dating app game, but is the new service worth the privacy risk?

Facebook romance

After the latest Facebook data scandal, the Facebook team now wants to know even more of your personal data. This time, they want to know your crushes.

7

Facebook is introducing a new dating service aptly named “Facebook Dating.” Through the dating app, you can use the feature called “Secret Crush.” If your crush also has Facebook Dating, you can anonymously note that you have a crush on them. If they say they have a crush on you, then the secret is out as the two of you find out about the mutual affection.

How does it work?

You can choose up to nine friends to tell that you want to date them. If your crush doesn’t download Facebook Dating, doesn’t create their own crush list, or doesn’t add you to their list, then they won’t find out you entered their name.

Can I download it now?

As of now, Facebook Dating is not available in the United States. However, it is available in the following countries:

  • Canada
  • Mexico
  • Argentina
  • The Philippines
  • Vietnam
  • Singapore
  • Malaysia
  • Laos
  • Brazil
  • Peru
  • Chile
  • Columbia
  • Thailand
  • Bolivia
  • Ecuador
  • Paraguay
  • Uruguay
  • Guyana
  • Suriname

The Facebook team has not announced when the service will go global, but there are plenty of other options in the meantime.

How is this different from Tinder or Bumble?

Tinder match

It seems that the main perk of using this app as opposed to a typical dating service is that this one has access to your Facebook friends. In an app like Tinder, you have to hope that eventually, your crush’s profile will come across your potential swipes for the day.

However, it doesn’t seem like Facebook Dating will give you the opportunity to explore romance beyond your circle of friends. If you want to expand your horizons from just the people you know, it doesn’t seem like Facebook Dating is the dating service for you. Here’s your chance to vote on your favorite:

(function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(d.getElementById(id))return;js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src=’https://embed.playbuzz.com/sdk.js’;fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}(document,’script’,’playbuzz-sdk’));

So should I download it?

If you can’t work up the courage to ask out your crush, there isn’t a lot of reason to believe that this app will help you out. It might be a good way to anonymously see if you and your crush do have mutual affection, but that can be figured by going out for coffee.

If you have a crush on someone, it’s in your best interest to work up the stones to ask them yourself. There are plenty of ways to find love that don’t involve Facebook stealing more of your data.

Can I realistically have a career as a YouTube content creator?

Making money on YouTube sounds like the dream, but can it be a reality?

YouTube money

We’ve all thought about doing it: Quitting your job and becoming YouTube sensation.

That’s exactly what Nick a.k.a. Sacred/SacredAlmighty decided when he was 16.

“I just remember watching old let’s play-style videos back in 2009 and thought ‘I could do this too,'” Nick said. “I was always fond of video games and ended up meeting friends real quick once I started.”

At the age of 22, Nick has about 150,000 subscribers on his main YouTube channel, and more than 22,000 followers on Twitch. His content is focused on gaming with a heavy concentration on Pokémon games.

SacredAlmighty

Although being a content creator wasn’t Nick’s first choice of career, he can’t imagine pursuing a different career at this point in his life.

“I’ve been doing this since I was 16 and I know everybody has a normal job, but I genuinely don’t see myself being happy working and doing anything else for right now, at least,” Nick said. “I used to always want to be a police officer growing up but lord knows where that road went.”

No guaranteed success

Nick does not have a job outside of being a content creator. He supports himself through the money he makes from YouTube and Twitch.

“Being able to pay bills and buy gifts with money is something that I didn’t expect to have in the first place,” Nick said. “I didn’t see YouTube or Twitch becoming a thing at 16, but here I am.”

Although Nick has found success in his career, he does stress the unlikelihood of becoming the next sensation.

“No matter how much money or time you put into this you’re not guaranteed to become the next PewDiePie or Markiplier,” Nick said. “You can’t quit your job and blow up; that’s not the case at all. There are so many other people that have put hours into this, more than me, and haven’t gotten a scrap of anything. I spent the past six to seven years doing this and I just now hit where I am, and there’s so much work to do. “

According to estimates in a Medium.com post, less than 1% of content creators can financially support themselves solely off their channel.

Learning how to make videos

Content Creator

Some channels with millions of subscribers have content teams who help out with production. However, most of them started as solo efforts. A great example would be JonTron.

The work that goes into building a channel includes audio recording, video editing, and even marketing. This makes just picking up becoming a content creator a bit difficult to do.

“There are so many things you can do in Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere that you just can’t pick up immediately,” Nick said. “You have to sit down for hours and pay attention to frames, transitions, and making sure the video is presentable. Audio always has to universally be sound enough for every device that YouTube is on so everyone hears it correctly. ”

How much money can I make?

The actual money you can make is not quite as high as you might imagine. Your average content creator is making about $0.0042 per view. This money comes from advertisers. Let’s say you publish a video that gets about 50,000 views.  On average, you will only make maybe a few hundred dollars for that video.
Reaching 50,000 views per video is a nice goal, but it probably isn’t going to happen for your first few years on YouTube.
Even if you make a video that gets hundreds of thousands or even millions of views, that doesn’t necessarily mean your video will make thousands of dollars.

Abiding by YouTube

In order to become a partner on YouTube and monetize your channel, you need to abide by the company’s rules:

Becoming advertiser-friendly is easier said than done.

Even if you are allowed to have ads on your videos, you aren’t really making a killing. If a viewer stops the video before a certain point or has ad block enabled, then the content creator makes nothing from advertisers.

“However many views the ads on your video get decides the pay,” Nick said. “Some people expect to quit their job, work towards monetization, and make big money but that’s not the case. There will be slow days and you’ll inconsistently make money. For some people, that’s the scary thing versus their normal $10 an hour job.”

Back in 2017, YouTube experienced what many have since dubbed, “The Adpocalypse.” During the Adpocalypse, several advertisers boycotted YouTube after their ads automatically played on a racist video. Afterward, YouTube began demonetizing videos that weren’t deemed advertiser-friendly. YouTube did release a video teaching how to remain advertiser-friendly, but many content creators are still having issues to this day:

The problem is that many videos are being flagged without having any non-advertiser-friendly content. One person even commented on this video saying that their gardening videos were flagged.

Here’s where things get a bit hairy. Becoming advertiser-friendly might not be what your audience wants. When the first Adpocalypse hit, H3H3 Productions released a video talking about how their videos weren’t being monetized. The things that led to their videos being demonetized were types of humor that attract their millions of viewers. Removing the humor means losing those viewers.

In this comes the debate of what YouTube needs to do. Channels like H3H3 don’t have PG content. However, their content is not toxic/racist, so they should be allowed to have advertisers. Gaming content is similar. Playing a game from the Mortal Kombat franchise can attract viewers, but the amount of blood and gore can get your video demonetized.

What YouTube should be doing is monitoring videos for toxic/racist content, but allow YouTubers to exercise creative liberties based on things like content and comedy. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like that change is coming soon.

Basically, if you aren’t planning on having PG content, then you need to explore other platforms to help earn money.

Partnering with Twitch

Twitch

Because YouTube pay is both sporadic and unreliable, many content creators also stream on Twitch for some added income.

Twitch partners can make money from sponsors, fan donations, paid subscribers, and ad revenue. A Twitch subscription costs $5 per month, but Twitch takes 50% off the top.

Those numbers may still sound better than YouTube. You may be thinking, “Why don’t I just become a Twitch partner and forget YouTube altogether?” Well, that’s not the best idea. For many content creators, YouTube is their biggest platform where they have their biggest audience. Even Pewdiepie who has nearly 100 million subscribers on YouTube has only about a million on Twitch.

If you have a YouTube channel, but you want to gain additional revenue on Twitch, plugging your Twitch stream on YouTube is your best bet.

How long can I realistically do this?

Old people using a phone

YouTube is a young platform that has already undergone so many changes. The website launched 14 years ago. In that time it went from being a place to share “fail” videos, to the supporter of full-time careers.

Some may think that being a YouTube content creator isn’t a viable option for later in life, but that’s not necessarily the case. As YouTube grows older, so does its audience. In fact, a July 2016 statistic shows that the average YouTube viewer is an adult with kids.

“I always think about when is it my time to gracefully bow out, or maybe that won’t be the case and I become some huge, rich YouTuber,” Nick said. “Maybe I can hire someone that can manage full time, hire some editors, or whatever. It just depends on the decisions I make now that set me up for that point in time.”

So should I do it?

Sacred Kingdom Hearts 3

If you are going to start, start young. It is much easier to put in the time and effort when you are still in high school and you don’t have adult bills to pay. Starting when you’re older means that you need to do this along with a fulltime job that pays the bills.

“If you’re looking to get rich and spend money then just don’t bother,” Nick said. “This is a creative space, an escape for some, and overall a place where everyone is trying to be the next big thing. If you’re gonna come here, prepare for trial and error and accept that you might not get really big, but have fun while you’re doing this.

Peter Mayhew and Chewbacca’s impact

Chewie and the man behind the fur had major impacts on the franchise. What were they? Read here to find out!

Chewbacca

Chewbacca’s impact on the Star Wars franchise reaches far beyond a mom wearing a mask in her car:

Given the physical burden of the original suit and all the things that nearly hindered the character, it’s incredible that Peter Mayhew was able to give us such an iconic performance.

Peter Mayhew and Chewbacca’s impact

The inspiration

Han Solo’s copilot was inspired by George Lucas‘s real-life dog. While trying to come up with his character, Lucas was driving in his car with his dog in the passenger sear. Lucas’s own furry copilot was what drew inspiration for the Chewbacca we all know and love.

The suit

Making the suit was an arduous task as it was going to have to fully encompass Mayhew’s 7-foot 3-inch body. The suit from the original trilogy was made of yak hair and the hair from Angora goats. At conventions, when fans asked Mayhew how hot it was inside the suit, his typical reply was along the lines of “How hot is it inside a microwave?”

The sound

Chewbacca has an iconic roar we all know and love:

The roar was created by sound designer Ben Burtt. No, that sound did not come from Mayhew himself. It actually came from a wide variety of animals including walruses, lions, camels, bears, rabbits, tigers, and badgers.

The physicality

Chewbacca may seem like a silly character, but Mayhew took the role quite seriously. According to the book “The Making of ‘Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back,'” Mayhew observed monkies and apes. His idea was that Chewbacca would behave closer to them rather than a human being.

The character could’ve been much different

When auditioning for the first film, David Prowse was offered the roles of both Darth Vader and Chewbacca. Obviously, Prowse went with Vader. Prowse is a big dude, standing at 6-foot 6-inches tall. However, that’s only a few inches taller than Harrison Ford. Mayhew stood more than a foot taller than the Han Solo actor, providing greater contrast.

Chewbacca wasn’t always going to be so prominent in the films. The original script only had him on a handful of pages. However, after the creators saw Mayhew in the suit, they wanted more Chewie. Who knows, maybe we wouldn’t have gotten to see him in this classic scene from “Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope”:

Lasting impact

Mayhew’s performance as Chewbacca has resonated throughout the series. When bringing his character the “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” the creators brought in Mayhew for help. They wanted to do the character justice, so they asked Mayhew how the fuzzball should behave on screen:

From how he walks, to how he keeps his mouth slightly open, Mayhew’s guidance helped bring back the character.

Aside from Mayhew’s performance, Chewbacca as a character had a major impact on the story. This includes the scene from “Return of the Jedi” where he jacked an AT-ST with some Ewoks:

If Chewie hadn’t done that, Han and Princess Leia might not have taken down the shields of the new Death Star. If the shields didn’t go down, Lando Calrissian and Nien Nunb wouldn’t have been able to destroy the Death Star. If the Death Star wasn’t destroyed, then the Empire might have very well won!

Mayhew’s last performance as Chewbacca was in “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.” Since then, he was replaced by Joonas Suotamo. Mayhew taught Suotamo both about the character, and about life.

Chewie, you’re home

Chewbacca and han Solo

Mayhew died of a heart attack at the age of 74. He was surrounded by his family in his Texas home. Although the man behind Chewbacca is now one with the Force, his career and impact are still apparent today.

Yoda said it best:

“Death is a natural part of life. Rejoice for those around you who transform into the Force. Mourn them do not. Miss them do not.”

‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ trailer is so horrifying that Sonic is being redesigned

Grab a crucifix and a barf bag: the “Sonic the Hedgehog” trailer is here.

Sonic

This trailer makes the Super Mario Bros. movie look like “Citizen Kane:”

Paramount Pictures released the trailer for the upcoming live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movie, which is set to come out in November. We have consulted several religious texts, and although this is not technically a sign of the apocalypse, we recommend you stay on guard.

So bad it’s being redesigned

Sonic redesign
Source: @LarryBundyJr

The film is being directed by Jeff Fowler. Fowler only has a single other directing credit to his name on IMDb, an animated short about a gopher stealing produce.

After the trailer dropped and the viewers vomited on their screens, Fowler took to Twitter to give us some hope.

That’s right, Sonic is being redesigned.

Sonic looks bad, but the trailer has other issues which we will talk about below. At this point, we’re not sure if we want a better-looking Sonic or for the project to be scrapped altogether.

The trailer itself

The trailer gives us our first official look at the live-action blue hedgehog. He’s blue, he has spiky hair, and he has red shoes just like Sonic does in the video games. However, he is also uncomfortably lanky, and looks like what you’d get if a Furby mated with an alien from “Avatar.”

(function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(d.getElementById(id))return;js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src=’https://embed.playbuzz.com/sdk.js’;fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}(document,’script’,’playbuzz-sdk’));

The trailer is set to “Gangsta’s Paradise” by Coolio. The song does not fit at all and just makes the trailer all the more awkward. It’s like playing “Mambo No. 5” at your grandma’s funeral. Think back to past Sonic titles like “Sonic Adventure 2 Battle” and “Sonic Heroes.” The songs that pop out are all high energy songs like “City Escape.” Basically, if you’re going to put a rap song in a Sonic trailer, it’d better be “Pumpkin Hill.”

The film stars James Marsden as a cop named Tom Wachowski. Wachowski stumbles across Sonic, and together they team up to stop Dr. Robotnik played by Jim Carrey. Sonic is voiced by Ben Schwartz. You might remember him as Jean-Ralphio from “Parks and Recreation.” How would Jean-Ralphio describe this trailer?

The trailer ends with our first look at Carrey as Dr. Robotnik. Viewers in the comments section seem to agree that his performance looks like the only redeeming quality.

Jim Carrey Robotnik

Carrey doesn’t have the same portly physique we expect of Dr. Robotnik, but he does have some of the same quirky mannerisms. He is very full of himself and hellbent on thwarting the dastardly hedgehog.

In summary

To put it bluntly, you can skip this movie. Carrey might get a laugh or two, but if the trailer is anything like the movie, the tone looks completely off. You have better ways to spend your time than seeing “Sonic.” Go outside, read a book, or play an old, classic Sonic game. Heck, take a page from Sonic’s book and go for a run. Above all else, avoid this film at all costs.

5 worst video game movies of all time

Video games and movies have rarely every mixed, but what are the worst of the worst?

Sonic movie

If that trailer for “Sonic the Hedgehog” proved anything, it’s that video games should not be adapted into movies.

Throughout the ages, only a handful have been decent. The Tomb Raider movies have their moments, and the first Mortal Kombat film was awesome.

However, for every good one we got, we had a dozen stinkers. For this list, we decided to give you the worst of the worst. In order to qualify, the movie has to be based on the game and not a different interpretation. For example, the animated Pokémon movies are based on the anime, not the game.

Top 5 worst video game movies

5. Warcraft

WarcraftSome hardcore fans do like this movie, but general audiences agreed that it’s pretty awful.

The CGI and make-up aren’t bad, but the film falls apart in every other aspect. The acting is beyond hokey. The story is both predictable and boring. Even the action scenes are bland. The film is about two hours long, but it feels like an eternity.

A video game series like World of Warcraft has such potential for a film adaptation, but this film misses the mark at every turn.

4. Double Dragon

Double Dragon

The Double Dragon games have a very simple concept. Billy and Jimmy Lee are brothers who use their kung-fu fighting skills to rescue Billy’s girlfriend while fighting off a Chinese gang.

In the game, Billy and Jimmy are both big, muscular dudes who look like American Gladiators. However, in the movie, we got two scrawny guys who just look in over their heads. The main theme of rescuing Billy’s girlfriend is thrown out the window for a new story about collecting a medallion.

If you’re a fan of the games, spin-kick this movie far, far away.

3. Doom

DoomThis movie was so bad even The Rock poked fun at it years later:

Good lord, Dwayne Johnson wasn’t even in a lot of this movie and he still feels the need to talk about how awful it was.

Doom is a video game series about fighting demon-spawn from Hell in outer space. How do you screw that up?

This movie is DARK. We don’t mean dark in tone, we mean it’s literally hard to see anything in this movie. The DC Cinematic Universe has nothing on how dark and lifeless this movie is.

The major flaw with the movie is the threat. Rather than fighting demons from Hell, the heroes fight failed genetic experiments. All of the things that made the original Doom cool and edgy are thrown out the window. The only thing the movie has to do with the games is the title. Call this movie “Space Station Survival,” and nobody would know it had anything to do with Doom.

2. Mortal Kombat: Annihilation

Mortal Kombat Annihilation

Holy smokes, this was bad.

The first Mortal Kombat movie wasn’t exactly “Citizen Kane,” but it got the job done. The action is cool. The story is simple but easy to follow. It is hammy in all the best ways. Also, it has Robin Shou as Liu Kang! How could you go wrong with Robin Shou?

“Mortal Kombat: Annihilation.” That’s how.

The acting in this movie is absolutely atrocious. Kids in high school theater would’ve given a bigger effort than these guys. I mean just watch this scene:

A director watched that and said, “Yeah, that was great. Let’s use that take.”

Unfortunately, we cannot perform a fatality on this movie. If you want to watch a fun Mortal Kombat movie, watch the first movie. It gets a flawless victory against this dumpster fire every time.

Need more evidence? Here you go:

1. Super Mario Bros.

Super Mario Bros. movieHow bad is this movie? Let’s see what Bob Hoskins, the actor who played Mario, had to say:

“The worst thing I ever did? ‘Super Mario Bros.’ It was a f***in’ nightmare. The whole experience was a nightmare. It had a husband-and-wife team directing, whose arrogance had been mistaken for talent. After so many weeks their own agent told them to get off the set! F***in’ nightmare. F***in’ idiots.”

See if you can endure this:

Even John Leguizamo who played Luigi doesn’t have anything kind to say about the movie:

Why is the movie bad? Where do we even start?

The story has nothing to do with Mario. The movie takes place in an alternate timeline version the real world rather than the Mushroom Kingdom. Bowser is human. Goombas are big, tall guys with tiny heads. Clearly, the only mushrooms that went into making this movie were the ones the writers took.

Hopefully, the upcoming animated Super Mario movie will be better.

Is there any hope?

Even though the Sonic movie looks awful, we have our hopes up for “Pokémon: Detective Pikachu.”

That movie looks like it might have decent CGI, a fun story, and hilarious acting from Ryan Reynolds.

Facebook cracks down on personality quizzes

Personality quizzes may be leaving Facebook in an attempt to protect our data.

Facebook quizzes

We’ve all seen them: personality quizzes on Facebook. They’re all pretty much the same. Your balding, overweight Facebook friend posts quiz results stating that if they were a superhero, they would be Wolverine.

7

Although these can be fun from time to time, we wouldn’t miss them if they bit the dust.

Facebook recently updated its platform policies. The update says that apps with minimal utility, such as personality quizzes, “may not be permitted on the platform.”

According to a company spokesperson, personality quizzes and other apps will heavily be scrutinized

“The update also clarifies that apps may not ask for data that doesn’t enrich the in-app, user experience,” wrote Director of Product Management at Facebook Eddie O’Neil in a blog post.

What does this have to do with the Cambridge Analytica Scandal?

massive password and email leak

The Cambridge Analytica Scandal occurred a few years ago when millions of Facebook users’ data was stolen. The stolen data fell into the hands of political campaigns.

At the heart of the scandal was a quiz.

A quiz was created using the Facebook app “thisisyourdigitallife.” The quiz collected data from about 87 million users. The people who took the quiz allowed the quiz to collect their data, but they didn’t know that it was going to go to aid politicians. As a result of the scandal, Facebook ended up deleting several hundred data-stealing apps.

Where do personality quizzes fit into this?

Facebook personality Quiz

Believe it or not, personality quizzes can reveal details about your password and security questions. Quizzes can ask questions that ask for things like the name of your first pet, or who you saw at your first rock concert. Both of these are common security questions that can lead to someone logging into your account.

Facebook has also said it is revoking expired permissions for apps. Apps that haven’t used or accessed  permissions from Facebook users during the last 90 days “may be considered expired.”

Is this going to make a difference?

Mark Zuckerberg

Facebook has undergone a great deal of scrutiny over the past few years. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development recently charged Facebook with discrimination. This, paired with the Cambridge Analytica Scandal and other data-stealing scandals, has made users cautious of Facebook.

Along with users deleting their account altogether, about 40% of users have taken a break from the social media juggernaut.

We can’t say for certain whether or not this move will remove personality quizzes altogether. We also don’t know if it will put a decisive dent in the war against data theft. This is a step in the right direction. Only time will tell if that step is a tip-toe or a leap.

LinkedIn rolls out new reaction buttons

LinkedIn will be offering new post reaction options.

LinkedIN reactions

Taking a cue from Facebook, LinkedIn introduced a feature allowing users to react to posts. The change was announced in a recent blog post from LinkedIn.

7

Along with the normal “Like,” users can now label a post as “Love,” “Curious,” Insightful,” and “Celebrate.”

The reactions will be available for all users on desktop and mobile in the coming months.

“People come to LinkedIn every day to discover what’s happening in their professional communities and talk to one another about topics and ideas related to their work,” Cissy Chen wrote in the blog post. “These conversations cover a wide range, whether it’s discussing industry news, celebrating a company milestone, giving advice on someone’s job search journey, or sharing thoughts on important workplace topics like being a working parent. That’s why today we’re starting to roll out a set of reactions on LinkedIn, giving you more ways to quickly and constructively communicate with one another.”

When will I use these?

More often than naught, you probably aren’t going to need to take “Love” out of its holster. As you want to maintain professionalism on LinkedIn, “Like” is probably your go-to.

LinkedIn reactions

“Curious” on the other hand is a wonderful new tool. Jobs are posted on LinkedIn all the time, and the “Curious” reaction would be a great option to express your interest. The job poster now can sift through the reactions, and private message everyone who reacted “Curious” with details on the job.

LinkedIn has been known to be a home for humble-bragging. Most of your LinkedIn notifications are probably your connections announcing a new job or a milestone in their career. Now, rather than just offering a mere “like,” you can use the “celebrate” reaction to offer a bit more emotion and praise.

“Insightful” sounds… interesting. The idea is that you’d use it when someone posts something thought-provoking. Basically, next time your old college friend posts an article about the shift to working remotely, you have another way to express your thoughts.

LinkedIn is a great tool to help post and find jobs. If these reations can help both of those processes, we’re all for them.

Lake Trio spotted in Pokémon GO

Azelf, Mesprit, and Uxie are appearing in the wild, and there may be a trick to finding them.

Pokemon Lake Trio

Niantic announced today that Azelf, Mesprit, and Uxie can be challenged in Raids.

The mons will be able to be challenged in raids from May 2 until May 27.  Uxie can be challenged in the Asia-Pacific area. Mesprit can be challenged in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India. Azelf is in the Americas and Greenland.

According to a tweet from Pokémon GO’s Twitter page, Azelf, Mesprit, and Uxie are spawning in the wild.

If you have friends overseas, hope and pray that they catch two, so they’ll trade you one.

Pokémon GO Download Free ►
7

They are also very rare and have a high-catch rate, so break out those Golden Razz Berries. There is some evidence that came from Reddit suggesting that they are more likely to spawn near bodies of water.

Along with the Lake Trio, Shellos made its debut in Pokémon GO. However, it was only available in a 10-minute window. It is unclear whether or not this was intentional from Niantic. The lovable snail was available in both his pink and blue forms. Ground-type mons have also been appearing in greater numbers. Even Groudon has made its way back, appearing in raids.
