After months of anticipation, Lucid Air drivers can now enjoy the much-requested Android Auto functionality following a recent software update (Lucid OS 2.7.0).
According to Dr. Jean-Philippe Gauthier, Lucid’s head of software engineering, “Android Auto is one of the most requested features,” highlighting the demand among users eager to enhance their in-car experience.
The update allows access to Android apps, messages, and various media through the vehicle’s expansive 34-inch Air Glass Cockpit.
Lucid Air Drivers Rejoice as Android Auto Finally Arrives
The introduction of Android Auto means that drivers using Android 11 or higher can connect wirelessly, while those with Android 9.0 or higher will need to utilize a USB cable. This wireless capability positions the Lucid Air as an advanced tech-savvy vehicle, merging luxury with the convenience of modern connectivity.
The Lucid Air continues to set industry standards as the “world’s most efficient car,” boasting an impressive EPA-estimated range of over 420 miles, along with a remarkable 146 MPGe. With the company planning to produce 20,000 vehicles in 2023, more than double the previous year’s output of 9,000, Lucid is ramping up its production capabilities to meet growing demand.
Furthermore, the Lucid Gravity GT is now available for $94,900 and offers a range of up to 450 miles, while a more affordable Touring model is set to debut later this year, starting at $79,900. In a bid to make its vehicles even more attractive, Lucid has introduced significant discounts, offering over $30,000 off select 2025 Air models.
