The cases of phishing as a service targeting brands are increasing alarmingly

Phishing as a service (PhaaS) has grown alarmingly, with over 17,500 domains targeting 316 brands in 74 countries, according to a recent report by Netcraft. This surge in the use of phishing tools is due to the popularity of platforms like Lucid and Lighthouse, which facilitate large-scale phishing campaigns and template customization, revealing a complex ecosystem where cybercriminals operate more easily.

A problem for small and large businesses

Lucid, documented by the Swiss cybersecurity company PRODAFT, allows operators to send phishing messages via SMS using services like iMessage and RCS. With advanced customization features, attackers can design specific campaigns that require elaborate setup, ensuring that only selected targets access the fraudulent links.

The activity of PhaaS is associated with a threat group known as XinXin, which collaborates with other actors such as LARVA-246. These groups have been able to innovate in their tactics, using more sophisticated attacks, such as the creation of fake domains that employ Japanese Hiragana characters to deceive users, especially in the field of cryptocurrencies.

Recently, a change in communication channels for phishing has been documented. After a month of a 25% increase in credential harvesting, a return to email as the primary means of collecting stolen data has been observed, moving away from platforms like Telegram. According to experts, this reconfiguration is due to the decentralized nature of email, which makes interventions more complicated.

Likewise, scammers have used the identities of recognized American brands, such as Delta Airlines and Universal Studios, to offer schemes where a deposit in cryptocurrencies is requested, reflecting how cyber actors use modern tactics to scale economically motivated fraud. This trend suggests a constantly evolving environment where cybersecurity faces significant challenges.

Lucid reports strong Q1 deliveries and financial position, stock rises over 15%

The company produced 2,213 units during this period at its Casa Grande facility, despite facing challenges with limited deliveries in Saudi Arabia due to a system change that has since been resolved. An additional 600 vehicles are currently in transit to Saudi Arabia, which will positively impact the next quarter’s results.

Lucid’s ambitious plans include expanding operations in Abu Dhabi, while the firm is also exploring opportunities in Qatar and other markets. The opening of a manufacturing plant in Saudi Arabia, which began assembling the Air luxury electric sedan in September 2023, signifies its commitment to regional production capabilities. Lucid is expected to commence local deliveries of Saudi-made electric vehicles in the coming year and might also begin producing EV batteries in the region through potential collaborations.

Following its recent earnings report, Lucid’s stock has risen over 15%, although it remains down approximately 12% compared to last year, trading around $2.76.

Lucid Motors Launches Leasing Options for Gravity Grand Touring Electric SUV

The Gravity Grand Touring stands out with an impressive range of up to 450 miles on a single charge, thanks to its robust 123 kWh battery. It features ultra-fast charging capabilities and is compatible with Tesla Superchargers through its NACS charging port.

With acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds, the Gravity delivers a performance level akin to a sports car while providing an interior space comparable to that of the Cadillac Escalade, boasting up to 120 cubic feet of cargo volume.

In comparison, the Rivian R1S offers a leasing option starting at $939 per month for its Dual variant, providing a range of 410 miles. With an MSRP of $83,900 and a slightly larger down payment of $8,834, it remains a competitive alternative. Rivian’s more powerful Tri model, priced at $105,900, leases at $1,359 per month.

Moreover, Lucid sweetens the deal with a $7,500 lease credit, which may add up to a potential total saving of $15,500 when combined with other incentives. Despite the initial high leasing cost for the Gravity, experts suggest that waiting a few months could lead to improved residual values, making it wiser to hold off on substantial down payments for leases.

For those eager to experience Lucid’s innovative vehicles, the Gravity Grand Touring is now available for order, with a more budget-friendly Touring variant expected later this year, starting at $79,900.

Additionally, a more economical Touring trim is set to launch later this year starting at $79,900. Lucid’s senior vice president, Adrian Price, expressed enthusiasm for the Gravity models on LinkedIn, showcasing their aesthetic appeal as they prepare for shipment.

Looking ahead to 2025, Lucid aims to produce 20,000 vehicles, significantly more than the approximately 9,000 units manufactured in 2024. The company is on track to deliver around 12,500 vehicles this year, which would eclipse 2024’s figures.

With a robust liquidity position of $5.76 billion, Lucid is well-positioned to fund its operations through the second half of 2026, at which point it plans to introduce a highly anticipated midsize platform, designed to compete directly with models from Tesla.

Lucid aims to create over 300 jobs from Nikola’s former workforce

Lucid Motors has taken a significant step in its expansion efforts by acquiring several key assets from the bankrupt Nikola Corporation, including its manufacturing facility in Coolidge, Arizona.

The acquisition, made during a bankruptcy auction and awaiting approval from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, does not include Nikola’s business operations, customer base, or technology specifically related to its hydrogen fuel cell trucks.

This strategic purchase adds over 884,000 square feet of state-of-the-art manufacturing space to Lucid’s existing footprint in Arizona, which also includes its Casa Grande factory situated just 25 minutes away.

Lucid Expands Manufacturing Footprint with Nikola’s Coolidge Facility

The newly acquired Coolidge facility will play a crucial role in supporting Lucid’s plans to produce its next vehicle platform, aimed at delivering more affordable electric vehicles. Additionally, Lucid intends to offer employment to more than 300 former Nikola employees, providing job opportunities across various technical and manufacturing roles.

Marc Winterhoff, Interim CEO of Lucid, expressed optimism about this transition, emphasizing the value of the experience that the former Nikola workers bring. He noted that this expansion aligns with Lucid’s ongoing production ramp, particularly concerning the Lucid Gravity and future midsize vehicles.

“Acquiring these assets is an opportunity to strategically expand our manufacturing, warehousing, testing, and development facilities while supporting our local Arizona community”, Winterhoff stated.

Despite facing its own financial hurdles, Lucid Motors is in a more stable situation than Nikola, which has struggled significantly over the past few years, ultimately leading to its bankruptcy. Lucid’s investment in these facilities not only aims to bolster its production capacity but also seeks to mitigate the local employment impact caused by Nikola’s downfall.

As Lucid continues to refine its product line—most notably with the launch of its high-end models like the Air and Gravity—this acquisition signals a pivotal moment in its efforts to solidify its position in the competitive electric vehicle market.

While the enthusiasm surrounding the vehicle’s performance metrics is palpable, some industry analysts caution about placing too much faith in early test results. They remind us that real-world driving can lead to varying outcomes depending on factors such as climate, terrain, and even driving habits. However, if Lucid can deliver on its promises, the Gravity may usher in a new era for electric SUVs.

Lucid Reports 58% Increase in Deliveries, Setting Sights on 12,500 Units for 2025

Lucid Motors (LCID) has achieved a significant milestone, recording six consecutive quarters of increased vehicle deliveries.

In the first quarter of 2025, the company delivered 3,109 vehicles, marking a remarkable 58% increase compared to the previous year and surpassing its prior record of 3,099 vehicles set in Q4 2024.

This impressive growth comes at a time when Lucid prepares for the upcoming release of its first all-electric SUV, the Gravity, which is set to begin deliveries to customers by the end of April 2025.

Lucid Motors Plans to Boost Deliveries to 12,500 Units in 2025 with New SUV

During this period, Lucid produced 2,213 vehicles at its Casa Grande, Arizona facility, reflecting a 28% year-over-year increase. In addition, approximately 600 vehicles are currently en route to Saudi Arabia for assembly at the newly established AMP-2 plant, marking Lucid’s first international manufacturing effort.

If this upward trend continues, Lucid is projected to exceed last year’s total deliveries of approximately 10,200 vehicles, aiming for around 12,500 units in 2025.

The Gravity SUV, which boasts a range of up to 450 miles and offers over 120 cubic feet of interior space, is being marketed as a “no compromise” vehicle. Pricing starts at $94,900 for the Gravity Grand Touring model, with a more affordable Touring model expected later in the year for $79,900.

Interim CEO Marc Winteroff recently noted a surge in orders, revealing that 50% of current orders are from former Tesla owners seeking alternatives to the brand. This increase in demand has led to a “dramatic uptick” in orders over the past two months.

As Lucid solidifies its position in the burgeoning electric vehicle market, it will be interesting to see if this momentum can sustain itself amid stiff competition. Tesla recently reported delivering 336,681 vehicles in Q1 2025, falling short of analysts’ expectations, which may further impact consumer behavior in the EV space.
