Dragon Ball Super has taken a big leap with the announcement of a remake in development to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the iconic franchise. During the Dragon Ball Battle Hour 2026 event, a trailer was presented that has surprised fans, revealing the return of Freezer, a crucial character that suggests the inclusion of elements from the Resurrection of F arc.
This new version will focus on the Battle of the Gods arc and promises to reshape the experience for the series’ followers.
Less an original story, whatever
The production is scheduled to premiere in Japan in the fall of 2026. Although no details have been provided about the exact date or its international release, the trailer has hinted at completely new scenes that were not part of the original series, especially in its final moments, where the return of Freezer becomes a highly anticipated highlight for fans.
Among the improvements that will be implemented in this remake are scene revisions, a complete re-rendering, a new dubbing, updated and accompanied by contemporary sound effects.
This enhanced edition of the Beerus arc will also include a total reconstruction of the narrative, promising to offer a renewed experience for both new and old fans alike.
The voice of Goku, Masako Nozawa, expressed her excitement at the trailer presentation, emphasizing the intensity of the battle between Goku and Beerus and expressing her joy at the return of Freezer. Additionally, the franchise plans to expand with new projects, such as Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol, which will adapt the Galactic Patrol Prisoner arc, another work by the legendary Akira Toriyama.
