We have already had two major Formula 1 races this 2024, so it’s not surprising that we have just received the announcement of F1 Manager 2024, a game that has a lot of ground to cover in the racing video game sector.
After the poor results of F1 Manager 23 that ended up causing layoffs at the Frontier development studio, nerves must be on edge to see that they have finally hit the mark with F1 Manager 24.
Now that Electronic Arts has fired Codemasters’ staff after a similar disappointment with the F12023 racing version, someone has to make a good F1 game and do it soon.
Release date of F1 Manager 24 and gameplay style
But let’s focus on the good news: we have a properly glamorous announcement trailer that showcases some pretty nice graphics. Although, being a management game, graphics are not the most important thing.
The game will be released this summer on PC, PS4 and PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. For the first time, it will give us the opportunity to create our own team to compete against the established F1 teams.
From there, you will have to deal with car design, sponsorships, and crying drivers, and hopefully there won’t be any scandals like Christian Horner’s, as happened with Red Bull this year.
And most importantly, Frontier promises improvements in race behavior and the return of race replays, which allows you to see if you can achieve a better result for a team than what happened in the corresponding real-life race.
We cross our fingers that this is the racing management simulator we have been waiting for from Frontier. They still have one more year of contract with F1, so there is time to fix the mess.
