Diablo IV has improved so much that players find it hard to believe

Thanks to the new patch for Diablo IV, Loot Reborn, some of its biggest flaws have been corrected, leading to an unexpected renaissance of the game.

Loot Reborn has arrived in Diablo IV and the truth is that it seems like a completely different game. A much better one. While it is true that we were promised many important changes within the game’s balance, we did not expect them to be of the magnitude they have been. Creating what is almost a new game. And if we didn’t believe it ourselves, who read the patch notes before they were released, the players believed it even less.

Season four has brought us a series of gameplay changes that make the game much less tedious. The game’s economy is better adjusted, with gold gaining importance and making it much easier and enjoyable to reach level 100. Even though it is true that obtaining gold is now more complex, having to farm less for experience and resources completely compensates for the fact that, perhaps initially, it is not possible to invest all the money we want in upgrades. This makes the experience of the majority of players more enjoyable, even if it doesn’t eliminate grinding in the endgame.

All of this is helped by the fact that the Infernal Waves have been a great success. When this happens, we have to face waves of demons that increase in quantity and strength over time. This means that each wave gives way to a larger and stronger one, forcing us to demonstrate not only that we have the necessary strength, but also the ability to manage our inventory and skills optimally. An experience in the purest Diablo style, which increases our rewards with each passing wave.

Those who were able to test this patch on the test server have been praising the brilliance of these changes from the beginning. Highlighting that now the game feels with a greater purpose at all levels, both in its campaign and in everything that happens afterwards, is something that the rest of the players also share.

This has led to the number of simultaneous players on Steam to quadruple compared to its numbers before the patch. Something that demonstrates that it’s not just hype, but there are really substantial changes that make the gaming experience more enjoyable. Ultimately, players who had abandoned the game are coming back. And apparently, new players are also joining. Something to be grateful for in a game that didn’t disappoint, but did prove to be slightly less refined than what most of us expect from the Diablo franchise.

Diablo 4 receives a new patch: this is everything that changes in Loot Reborn

The biggest issue with Diablo 4 since its release has been the loot, something that is going to change with the new patch, aptly named Loot Reborn.

The new Diablo 4 update is very close and, in addition, promises to radically change the game as we know it. Named Loot Reborn, it doesn’t leave much to the imagination of what it seeks to do: completely change how the item acquisition system works. Something that has been problematic in Diablo 4, as it was in Diablo 3 and Diablo Immortal before it, from day one. And that Blizzard is finally going to tackle.

The biggest change is that now the affixes you will get will be simplified. Until now there were extremely situational affixes, which made potentially good weapons useless because of them. From now on, the affixes will be simpler things, like “+X% damage”, instead of things like +[0.21*100}|1%|] — [0.42*100}|1%|] crushing damage. Yes, it’s a real affix.

To compensate for the simplified loot system, Diablo 4 will introduce two new systems to add depth to items: Tempering and Masterworking. The first will allow us to replace and add affixes to our weapons, adjusting them to our needs. The second will allow us to enhance our affixes, empowering our items. Both of these systems will use materials from the endgame, while Masterworking in particular will require materials from a new, particularly challenging dungeon: The Quarry of the Artificers.

Another problem they will tackle is the rarity system. Since the first Diablo, every item is always better than any of a lower rarity. That wasn’t the case with Diablo 4. There were many occasions where rare items could be better than legendaries. Thanks to this update, legendaries will be better than rares in practically every case, making inventory management easier.

To put an end to the big changes, there is also a reformulation of the Power Codex coming. If until now you could only obtain certain aspects, from now on you will be able to catalog all the Legendary Aspects in the Codex. In fact, you will be able to extract Aspects from objects directly in the Codex, which will give an improvement to that Legendary power for the entire season. Something that will allow you to customize your character in a deeper way.

As evident, Loot Reborn also comes with a large number of minor changes to items, powers, and classes. All of which have been specified in an extensive patch note by Blizzard.

Although Loot Reborn is the most anticipated patch since Diablo 4 was released, we will still have to wait a few days. Because this update will not be released until May 14th. More than enough time for us to take a short vacation to grind everything necessary to get those juicy new legendaries.
