Palwold will announce features that players have been waiting for a long time

Palworld might be about to receive news of new content, as hinted by its developer, Pocketpair, at an upcoming event.

Palworld was one of the big releases at the beginning of the year. Although it is true that it has been progressively declining, failing to maintain momentum throughout the months, the game still has a large community of players. Furthermore, given its success, it would not be surprising if they managed to regain some of that lost audience. Something that could happen in the near future. Since Pocketpair, the developing company, has hinted at upcoming changes.

Pocketpair has announced that Palworld will be at the Summer Game Fest. Celebrating on June 7th, they have announced that they have a lot of exciting things to show. Including some highly anticipated features by users. Giving us one more good reason to watch this event.

The only problem is that in Pocketpair they have wanted to maintain the mystery, not revealing what those features will be. Something that has led players to go crazy speculating, thinking about what they could be. Because one thing is certain. Pocketpair has promised many features in Palworld and, while it is true that they have added some of them, there are still many promised things that have not been added. So there are many possibilities that they will surprise us.

The most likely announcement that will come during this event is the game launch on PlayStation 5. Shuhei Yoshida, the head of indies at PlayStation, already confirmed it subtly on Twitter, something that would make sense to happen during one of the big events of the year. Unless PlayStation itself announces it earlier, in its own event, which we hope will happen during those same days.

Furthermore, if we have to make any bets, we have two. On one hand, regional variants of the Pal, following what Nintendo already did with Pokémon. On the other hand, if it were to come to PlayStation, it is imaginable that it would come with one of the features they promised a long time ago and still haven’t given us: crossplay. That, along with some more online possibilities, would give us the bulk of the most important aspects they have promised for the game.

You can now play the first raid of Palworld, except if you play in the Xbox ecosystem

Pocketpair has released a new update, which includes the game’s first raid, but as usual, not without controversy.

The success of a long-term game has to do with knowing how to add meaningful content regularly and consistently. No matter how successful you are at the beginning, if you want to maintain a loyal community that keeps throwing money in your direction, you need to keep them happy. And that’s no easier than making the game in the first place. But it seems that Pocketpair, the creators of Palworld, know how to do it. And not just with April Fools’ jokes.

With patch 0.2.0.6, Pocketpair has added the first raid for Palworld. Announced last March, it has appeared practically by surprise, adding a new Pal, called Bellanoir, which is a powerful evil Pal, that we can summon at an Invocation Altar using a new item, the tiles. When summoned, a battle will begin between you, your Pals, and Bellanoir, with the possibility of summoning an “extreme” version of him, if you want a greater challenge. Among other rewards, Bellanoir can drop Pal eggs when defeated, but cannot be captured like other Pals.

On the other hand, although Pocketpair seems to want to please its audience, they don’t seem to worry about being accused of plagiarism. Because Bellanoir bears a more than suspicious resemblance to Gardevoir, a psychic/fairy type Pokémon from the third generation, and particularly to Mega-Gardevoir, its mega evolution introduced in the sixth generation. Something that neither Nintendo nor Pocketpair have commented on yet.

If you want to enjoy the first raid of this game, we have good and bad news. If you are a Steam user, you get the good news, as patch 0.2.0.6 is already available, and you will be able to install it the next time you run the game. If you are a Microsoft Store or Xbox console user, you get the bad news. According to Pocketpair, the patch for Microsoft platforms is not yet available and will be released “when it’s ready”. We don’t even have an approximate date of when we can expect this update.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Pocketpair has also pointed out that an update with much more content is coming. Planned for the summer of 2024, it will include a new island, with new Pals, as well as new buildings, weapons, and final enemy towers. It is still to be seen when exactly it will arrive and if it will reach all users at the same time. But what is evident is that we will have Palworld for a while.

Palworld reaches 25 million players in just one month since its launch

Palworld continues to seek success, breaking records, this time reaching 25 million players across all its platforms.

Palworld is one of the big releases of 2024. With staggering numbers of users that keep breaking records, it continues to surprise because it seems to gracefully withstand its initial momentum. Perhaps because, being in early access, it is gaining new content regularly. Something that has resulted in an impressive new milestone.

According to the latest information from Pocketpair, the studio behind the game, Palworld has already surpassed 25 million players since its release. This means that it has sold an impressive 15 million copies on Steam, while on Xbox it has had 10 million players. A somewhat biased mix of figures, but it still provides a perspective on the scale of this phenomenon.

Furthermore, Pocketpair has ensured that they will continue to evolve the game over time. With plans to introduce a PvP mode, new islands, and new Pals in future updates, it seems like the game still has a lot of work ahead for the studio.

Palworld is available on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and PC. It is also available on Xbox Game Pass.
