To participate in these Super Mega Raids, players will need a new resource called Union Charges, in addition to a premium battle pass for those who choose to play remotely. These encounters will offer a higher level of difficulty, requiring collaboration from between seven and eight players to defeat common Pokémon, and an even larger group for the legendary ones. In this sense, the use of mega-evolved Pokémon will be crucial to break the defensive shields that will appear during the battles.
In addition, the Supermegaincursions will offer greater rewards, including the possibility of obtaining more mega energy and an increase in the probability of capturing shiny Pokémon. A new super maximum level for mega evolutions has been announced, which will allow players to exceed the current power limit of their Pokémon, although this will require a considerable investment of mega energy.
To obtain Union Charges, trainers will need to participate in group challenges, open gifts from friends, and attend community meetups organized through Campfire. Since this new resource will be essential for participating in the Super Mega Raids, players are expected to be motivated to engage more actively in the community, thus increasing interactions and the dynamics of the game.
The implementation of these changes reflects Niantic’s commitment to providing fresh and challenging experiences, ensuring that Pokémon GO remains a vibrant platform for its users.

The arrival of a new game in the Pokémon series, titled Pokémon Pokopia, has generated expectations in the gaming community, thanks to its style reminiscent of titles like Viva Piñata and Animal Crossing. However, despite promising a fresh experience, the game seems to return to the traditional formula that characterizes the franchise, in a context where innovations have been scarce in recent releases.
I choose you!
However, the biggest point of controversy has been the announced presale bonus, which consists of a digital potted plant to decorate in the game. This incentive has been labeled as one of the most disappointing in video game history, leading many Nintendo fans to express their discontent on various platforms. The negative reception of the bonus has sparked a debate about other incentives that were also considered failures, such as the glow-in-the-dark condoms from Infamous: Second Son or the gems from Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite.
The criticism focuses on the lack of value of the bonus, which for many players offers little when compared to the expectations that usually accompany the launches of popular games. Although Pokémon Pokopia could be destined to revitalize the series, it seems that the discontent over the pre-sale offer has overshadowed this potential, highlighting a pattern in the video game industry where promises do not always meet expectations.
In conclusion, while Pokémon Pokopia promises to take the franchise in a refreshing direction, the criticism regarding its pre-sale bonus suggests that fans’ hopes may be dampened by a customer experience that starts off anticlimactically. Meanwhile, the debate over the worst pre-sale bonuses continues, with Pokémon Pokopia now added to that list of disappointment.
The Pokémon TCG Pocket community is at a critical moment, marked by the influence of the Oricorio (A3) card. The Pokémon TCG Pocket community is at a critical moment, marked by the influence of the Oricorio (A3) card. This card has become a pillar in the metagame thanks to its ability ‘Sacred Veil’, which nullifies damage from Pokémon ex attacks. This ability gives Oricorio an unmatched tactical advantage and has led many decks to adapt to its dominant presence, redefining the way players build their strategies.
I choose you (and I break the game)
Decks that include Oricorio benefit greatly, allowing players to mitigate damage from cards like Giratina ex or Suicune ex. However, the Rampardos card has emerged as the main response to Oricorio, capable of achieving a KO with a single energy attack. This dynamic has highlighted the need to balance effectiveness in the game, as most decks are currently built around the functionality of Oricorio.
With an eye on the future, various proposals arise to implement cards that respond to the dominant ones, which could bring a new breath to the metagame and encourage diversity in strategies. In the context of other card games, it is common to introduce specific cards to counter those that are problematic, something that has not yet been sufficiently explored in Pokémon TCG Pocket due to the lack of card rotation.
However, the idea of having banned cards raises questions about the fairness of the game, as well as the possibility of establishing an expanded format. On the other hand, not all players seek to compete; many prefer the aspect of collecting, which reflects two different approaches within the community. As the metagame evolves, the need to adapt and find a balance becomes inevitable.
In the midst of a lawsuit filed by Nintendo, Palworld has announced the release of a collectible card game, which will be developed in collaboration with Bushiroad. Amid a lawsuit filed by Nintendo, Palworld has announced the release of a collectible card game, which will be developed in collaboration with Bushiroad. This game, set to launch on July 30 of this year, will allow players to enjoy strategic and tactical battles using unique creatures known as “Pals”. The game’s description closely resembles the famous Pokémon card game, which reinforces the infringement claims that Nintendo has raised against Pocketpair, the developer of Palworld.
We don’t know if there will be a letter to sue your rival
The card game, known as Palworld Official Card Game, is a competitive game for two players in which participants fight alongside their Pals, collecting resources and building bases on their way to victory. According to preliminary details, the Pals will have unique characteristics that will influence each player’s tactics and strategies. This addition of base building also reflects elements from the original video game, allowing for a richer and more dynamic experience.
Pocketpair’s decision to launch a card game with such obvious similarities to Nintendo’s products could be interpreted as a provocation, although likely unintentional, amid a legal process that has captured public attention. The court has faced criticism regarding the similarities between Palworld and the Pokémon saga, and many are wondering if this move will be part of a broader strategy by the development studio.
Although the details of the card game are still scarce, Pocketpair is expected to share more information as the release date approaches. It is also important to note that the revelation of this game occurs at a critical moment, highlighting a tense environment between the creators of Palworld and the video game titan, Nintendo.
In the world of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, a pleasant surprise awaits players who complete the main story of the game. Players who wish to add this powerful Pokémon to their team must return to their room in Hotel Z after watching the final credits, where they will find a special Poké Ball containing Lucario, which belongs to Corelia, the gym leader of Yantra City in Kalos.
The Stealthy Lucario
Player anecdotes reveal that many do not notice this addition due to the lack of indications suggesting a return to the hotel after completing the main story. From Reddit forums to player communities, the frustration of those who, after finishing the game, continued their tasks without exploring this possible hidden reward has been shared. The logic behind this omission seems reasonable, given that after saving the city, most focus on using the services available at Pokémon Centers or banks throughout their adventure.
This Lucario is not only easy to overlook, but it is also highly strategic in battles. Equipped with attacks like Metal Sound, Swords Dance, Dragon Pulse, and Extreme Speed, it represents a significant boost for any player team. Additionally, Lucario can mega evolve into two different forms: the traditional one, introduced in the sixth generation, and a new Z form promoted in the recent game expansion, Megadimension.
Without a doubt, this gift is a must-have opportunity to complete the collection in Pokémon Legends: Z-A and strengthen the team’s lineup.

A new Pokémon game, titled Pokémon Pokopia, has captured the attention of fans following its recent presentation in an extended trailer. This title will combine elements of life simulation and adventures in an environment where players will live in an abandoned village alongside Pokémon that will be their neighbors. The premise revolves around restoring the village by attending to the needs of the resident Pokémon.
Two very unique Pokémon
Pokémon Pokopia will allow participation of up to four players in the same city, enhancing collaboration to complete Pokémon requests and build the environment. The Game Share feature will make it easier for friends without the game to join the experience, whether on the new Switch 2 console or the original one.
One of the main attractions of the game is the inclusion of a new mentor Pokémon, Professor Tangrowth, who will guide players on their adventure. Additionally, variants of well-known Pokémon such as Pikachu and Snorlax have been revealed, which will appear in a darker and bioluminescent environment, adding an air of mystery to the game.
The trailer also highlighted customizable features for players, allowing them to modify their appearance with different hairstyles and skin tones. A new camera feature will allow players to capture moments in the game and take selfies with neighboring Pokémon, adding a personal touch to the experience.
However, one aspect has generated some discontent among fans: Pokémon Pokopia will be available on a game card for the Switch 2 that will require both a physical cartridge and a digital download to play. This decision has sparked criticism, making the physical version a less attractive product.
Despite this inconvenience, the potential of Pokémon Pokopia to differentiate itself from other life simulation titles and the promise of new variants could capture the attention of the most loyal fans of the franchise.

Nintendo has strongly denied claims that it is lobbying against generative artificial intelligence with the Japanese government. Through a post on Twitter, the company stated: “Contrary to recent discussions on the internet, Nintendo has not had contact with the Japanese government regarding generative AI. Regardless of the involvement of generative AI, we will continue to take necessary measures against the infringement of our intellectual property rights.”
Nintendo says it is not confronting AI
The controversy arose from a statement by Japanese House of Representatives member Satoshi Asano, who had made a post suggesting that Nintendo was involved in lobbying activities to oppose the use of generative AI. However, after Nintendo denied these accusations, Asano offered a formal apology, acknowledging that he had not properly verified the facts.
The incident coincides with a delicate moment for OpenAI, whose new video generation platform, Sora 2, has been criticized for creating content that included copyrighted material from Nintendo, Pokémon, and other iconic franchises. One of the generated videos even showed a character resembling Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, commenting: “I hope Nintendo doesn’t sue us,” while photorealistic Pokémon ran in the background. This situation has led OpenAI to reconsider its policies regarding the use of copyrighted material.
While Nintendo is known for being very protective of its intellectual property, the company’s stance on generative AI is still not entirely clear. Although its president, Shuntaro Furukawa, has previously expressed concerns about rights protection, he has also stated that the company is open to leveraging technological developments. Nintendo is considering keeping the door open to generative AI, following the growing trend in the video game industry in Japan, where more than half of the companies in the sector already employ this technology in some way.

Pocketpair has announced the development of Palfarm, a new title that expands the Palworld universe into an agricultural life simulator. Described as a more relaxed and less dangerous experience, the game evokes the popularity of titles like Stardew Valley, offering players the opportunity to immerse themselves in agricultural life alongside their “Pals”. This new installment will be released in collaboration with Ultrakill, known for its innovative approach to first-person shooting games.
Zero similarities with the world’s most popular farming game
In Palfarm, players will be able to cultivate, cook, and build their dream farm on an island where the Pals live and work. The game will include a multiplayer mode that promises rich social interactions between players and the Pals, who have unique skills that will assist in agricultural tasks. Among the jobs of the Pals are a florist, fisherman, and blacksmith, which diversifies the activities within the game.
Despite its focus on serene farm life, Palfarm does not completely shy away from action. Players will need to defend their lands from hostile Pals, using innovative tools like chainsaws and even facing off against armed characters. This aspect suggests that the game will retain some of the more combative elements that defined Palworld at its launch.
The announcement of Palfarm comes shortly after the revelation of Pokémon Pokopia, a farming and crafting game by Nintendo, which shows that both developers are exploring similar territory albeit from different perspectives. With Palworld 1.0 scheduled to launch next year and promising additional content on the way, Pocketpair demonstrates its ability to innovate in the agricultural simulation genre, applying lessons learned from its previous success, Craftopia.

The rumors about the arrival of a remote trading feature in Pokémon GO have gained traction following the leak of internal game data. This feature would allow players from around the world to trade Pokémon, similar to how it is done in the main series. Player communities have started discussing these potential changes, particularly through posts on Reddit suggesting that there could be a tutorial within the app explaining how to carry out these trades.
Less in-person interaction. Bad for some, good for others
Throughout its more than nine years of history, Pokémon GO has managed to maintain user interest through constant updates and new features. However, the possibility of a remote trade has generated some concern in the community. While many players view this novelty positively, there is also the worry that this feature could contradict Niantic’s efforts to promote in-person play, something that has been a cornerstone of the game’s design since its launch.
In addition, doubts persist about whether the remote exchange will be free or if it will require additional costs, similar to how remote raid passes work, which can be purchased with Pokécoins. Although there is an option to obtain these passes for free, their appearance rate is very low, making the most common option to buy them directly.
Previous records have shown that leaks often anticipate features before their official activation in the game, leading the community to take the news with caution. As the discussion about this new feature progresses, it will be crucial to observe how Niantic addresses these changes and what implications they will have for gameplay and the community as a whole.

Pokémon came accompanied by an animated series almost from the very beginning. The first two games appeared in Japanese stores on February 27, 1996, and Ash Ketchum debuted on TXN a year later, on April 1, 1997. By that time, the Pokémon Adventures manga had already been serialized (which continues to be published with over 60 volumes), and the second one, The Electric Tale of Pikachu, was about to be published, surprisingly censored outside its country of origin. Almost three decades have passed since then, and the anime has already reached a good 1342 episodes, having changed protagonists along the way. But it is by no means the only mirror in which the saga reflects these days.
Concierge, I choose you!
If Pokémon had to change its protagonist (from Ash to Liko) to adapt to the new times, the series themselves also had to evolve, logically: the saga’s social media channels often present, from time to time, small shorts that give a glimpse of how vast this world is, and different experiments have appeared here and there. For example, over the years we have experienced things like Pokémon Chronicles, Pokémon Origins (a story more similar to the original game), Pokémon Generations, or the very curious Pokémon Evolutions. But nothing, ever, will be the same as the Netflix series that generated the most buzz in 2023 and is now returning after a year and a half of preparation.
I am, of course, talking about The Pokémon Concierge, which uses stop motion to tell wonderful and never-before-seen stories from the franchise, with Psyduck helping to run a summer resort for the creatures. It’s adorable, but there’s much more: each animator could only achieve 5 seconds of animation per day due to this technique, so the episodes took much longer to make than usual. Additionally, the series is filled with nods and tributes to the world of Pokémon, completely excluding battles: that’s what the original series is for. Here, even the most dangerous and powerful creatures deserve a spa day.
The first season had 4 episodes and was binge-worthy, and the second, which will premiere tomorrow on Netflix, will have another 4. Better little by little and make them good than at full speed and end up being a flop, right? The series shows that the saga has had to evolve out of necessity: no matter how much it continues to target children and the whole family, it’s no longer enough to use animation and the most basic and simple plots to reach all its audience. Now, Pokémon is also for adults, and they (we, to be honest) demand (demand) experiments as beautiful, fun, and charming as this one.
Season 1 is one of the few that has a 100% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and for good reason: it was exactly what Pokémon needed: to realize that its audience doesn’t just need the same old story (I leave the town, catch creatures, win at the gyms, etc.), but that there is a world more than enough to create all kinds of installments. Why not a horror Pokémon? Or one of pure action? Or one where we control Team Rocket? Or one where we are the designers of a poke-resort for vacations?
The Pokémon Concierge is everything that continues to go well in a saga that, at times, shows signs of limping and repeating its own mistakes over and over again, and the arrival of its season 2 should be a cause for rejoicing. Come on, I’m off to grab the towel and the pokéballs right now: this needs to be celebrated.
