Marvel Rivals will modify the ranking systems to prevent lord farming

NetEase has announced its intention to impose severe penalties on players who exploit the competition system of its video game Marvel Rivals, using a tactic known as “lord farming.” This method, which involves remaining stationary within the game to accumulate hero competition points, has seen a notable increase since the last update of the competition system, harming the gaming experience of other users.

They want to prevent people from playing in a way that takes away the fun

The term “lord farming” gets its name because the highest recognition for reaching maximum competition is the prestigious Lord icon. However, this approach has altered the normal game dynamics, generating frustration among those seeking a more equitable competitive experience.

In a statement, NetEase warned players that exploiting this process, by remaining in the spawn area and performing repetitive actions to increase statistics, not only disrupts the game but also seriously affects the experience of others. In order to counter this issue, the company plans to implement a combat behavior detection system.

The sanctions that could be applied to those identified with abusive behaviors include warnings, temporary suspensions, long-term suspensions, or even permanent bans from their accounts. This decision aims to promote a fairer and healthier gaming environment, in collaboration with the gaming community.

Despite these efforts, some players have defended their actions, pointing out that they are only engaging in “lord farming” on empty servers. NetEase’s call to players to help maintain fairness in the game is clear, but the implementation of effective measures will be crucial to restore balance in the competitive world of Marvel Rivals.

In a matter of weeks, Battlefield 6 has established itself as one of the most anticipated releases of this year. With betas scheduled for this month, the community is eager to dive into the battlefield, a return that promises large-scale action, new mechanics, and refined gameplay that could set a milestone in multiplayer shooters.

It’s not the same as humans, but humans will replace them

During an event in Hong Kong, EA and DICE confirmed the implementation of AI-controlled bots in Battlefield 6. This decision aims to ensure that servers are always full, avoiding long waits and incomplete matches when there are not enough real players. It is important to note that the bots will only come into play to start a match and will be replaced by human players as they join the action.

The inclusion of bots has been well received by many in the community, as their presence helps maintain the dynamics of the matches and prevents players from feeling ‘abandoned’. Although DICE has not revealed the skill level of these bots, the intention is for them to contribute to a smoother and more exciting experience.

Another aspect that generates excitement is the custom mode Portal, where players will have the ability to create their own gaming experiences. EA has stated that it will support this mode in the long term, and bots can serve as ‘guinea pigs’ in those user-designed scenarios.

The numbers speak for themselves: over 40,000 players are waiting for the beta, evidence of the renewed interest in the franchise after the debacle of Battlefield 2042. With the return of a traditional class system and classic maps, fans are ready to give a second chance to a saga that seeks to reclaim its legacy and the trust of the community.

The Reloaded update for Season 3 of Call of Duty, which will be released on May 1, will bring a series of exciting new features for players of Black Ops 6 and Warzone. This release is scheduled for 6 PM, Spanish mainland time, and will include new weapons, maps, and limited-time events.

A less meaty update, but one that will delight fans

Among the main additions is the Ladra submachine gun, characterized by low firepower but a high rate of fire, which could make it a unique weapon in close combat. In addition, three new multiplayer maps will be added, although the specific names of these scenarios have not yet been revealed.

The competitive Ranked Play mode will return to Warzone with trio matches in a 150-player environment, restoring a ranking system that many fans have been waiting for. Alongside this, the Blaze of Glory event will be announced, which will include 4/20 themed content, as well as a new mode called Joint Operations, which will feature unique and fun mechanics.

For Zombies mode enthusiasts, a special mode called Zombie Snack has been announced, although details are still scarce. The mechanics of previous modes, such as High Trip, will also be updated, moving to Verdansk and enriching the experience with various temporary enhancements.

In addition to these changes, some news has been shared about the Verdansk map, such as new looting areas and the return of elements like the ‘ig Game Bounty and the Bunker Buste’. It is important to highlight that players will only have until the end of the month to complete missions from the previous event and obtain exclusive cosmetics. With everything that is being presented, Season 3 Reloaded promises to be one of the most significant moments for the franchise this year.

Elon Musk is really bad at video games, according to his own daughter

Vivian Jenna Wilson, Elon Musk’s daughter, has openly criticized her father’s claims about his skills in video games like Diablo 4 and Path of Exile 2. During an appearance on streamer Hasan Piker’s Twitch channel, Vivian revealed that when she was 12 years old, Musk was at “Bronze” level in Overwatch, the lowest rank in the game, which contrasts with her own position, higher than her father’s. Elon Musk is really bad at video games, according to his own daughter

Vivian Jenna Wilson, the daughter of Elon Musk, has openly criticized her father’s claims about his skills in video games like Diablo 4 and Path of Exile 2. During an appearance on the Twitch channel of streamer Hasan Piker, Vivian revealed that when she was 12 years old, Musk was at “Bronze” level in Overwatch, the lowest rank in the game, which contrasts with her own position, higher than her father’s. She stated that she and her twin brother used to help Musk in competitive games, as he sought their support to improve his performance.

Unable to rank up even when all I had to do was secure position

Wilson described Musk as a “terrible” player and claimed that his character choices, such as Torbjörn, were considered suboptimal within the context of the game. “He was a person who behaved poorly,” Wilson said, adding that he does not believe Musk’s claims of being an elite player. These revelations come in the context of Musk admitting to having paid to boost his accounts in both video games, raising questions about the authenticity of his skill in the gaming universe.

The relationship between father and daughter has been marked by tensions. Vivian has publicly criticized Musk’s political opinions, especially his comments on gender issues, and has described him as a “cold” and “narcissistic” father. Musk, for his part, responded to her statements by calling her a “fraud,” thus highlighting the complexity of their family bond.

Despite the personal turmoil, Musk has expressed his interest in starting an “AI video game studio,” which has raised expectations about his future in the industry. However, so far, his foray into the world of video games has been overshadowed by his poor performance and criticism from his daughter.

Activision gets serious: it has banned more than 19,000 players from Call of Duty competitive play

Activision gets serious: it has banned more than 19,000 players from Call of Duty competitive play

Call of Duty has always had a problem with cheaters. All online games do. But due to the game’s popularity, it has always been particularly visible and prominent in Call of Duty. This is something Activision has taken very seriously. They are now demonstrating it with very specific figures: they have banned 19,000 players in one week. Why? Because that is the number of players who were cheating in the newly opened ranked queues.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 opened its ranked queue, or competitive play, on November 20th. To access it, you must have previously won 50 online matches. This serves as a filter: you need to have a commitment to the game and a certain level of skill to play with those who want to compete. But none of that has been enough to prevent thousands of people from trying to cheat in the game during the first week. Nor has Activision managed to stop them from continuing to do so.

As mentioned on their Twitter account, around 19,000 players have been banned since they opened the ranked queue. This has been thanks to the sweeps they conduct every hour, looking for potential cheaters, using AI to identify those players who are cheating.

A lot of technique to avoid cheaters

How is this possible? Thanks to the 50 online matches required to access ranked. This gives them a match history that, along with tools to monitor past matches, makes it easy for them to identify cheaters. That, combined with tools that allow them to identify players using VPNs to jump between servers and players who intentionally do not play the game to gain more experience, is allowing them to efficiently sweep cheaters from the game. Or at least it seems so.

These massive bans in the past have been at the expense of some innocent players. Especially those who have special needs, such as the disabled. That’s why it will be necessary to see if it doesn’t end up causing the same problems. But at least for now, Activision is doing a good job of keeping Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 free of any cheaters.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is a highly anticipated action game that immerses players in a world of espionage and high-stakes heists. Set in the tumultuous 90s, the narrative echoes other iterations of the iconic Call of Duty: Black Ops series, but with deeper spy elements and political intrigue.
