The highly anticipated video game Rise of the Ronin, developed by Team Ninja, has been the subject of numerous speculations in recent months regarding its release. Initially, it was presented as a PlayStation console exclusive, but now, PC players will be able to enjoy it, with the release date scheduled for March 11, 2025. Those who purchase or pre-order before April 2 will receive an exclusive Katana and armor set, as well as four additional combat styles.
Despite the high expectations surrounding its release, the game has received a cooler reception than anticipated, which has surprised many in the industry. The game’s concept, which mixes the rich Japanese setting with RPG elements in an open world, seemed promising, but it failed to become one of the standout titles of 2024.
Some Slightly Crazy System Requirements
One aspect that has left players stunned is the storage space requirements, as Rise of the Ronin will take up approximately 180 GB on the hard drive, which represents almost 20% of a 1 TB SSD. This size is in line with other large-scale titles like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Star Wars Jedi Survivor, which have also had similar requirements in the past.
In terms of technical requirements, the game will require a GTX 1060 graphics card for minimum settings, allowing play at 1080p at 30 frames per second. For a superior visual experience, a GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER or Radeon RX 6700XT is recommended. It is worth mentioning that there has been confusion regarding the game’s size, as 180 MB was initially mentioned instead of 180 GB, an error that is expected to be corrected soon on digital distribution platforms.
