Few series have caused as much sensation as The Walking Dead. Or not series that can be framed within horror. Generally excluded from the discourse of great television series, The Walking Dead managed to captivate the general audience by focusing on character development and the constant tension over who would survive each episode and each season. At least, until they perhaps went a bit too far with the tension for a good part of the audience.
That doesn’t take away from the fact that the series was very beloved and, even today, it remains popular and is watched with much affection. So it shouldn’t surprise us that it continues to accumulate spinoffs and that they are quite popular. Including the third season of the most popular character of all: Daryl Dixon.
A large part of his success was due to the enormous charisma of its actor, Norman Reedus. Although he already had a notable career in film before The Walking Dead, the actor reached stardom thanks to the series, becoming one of the most recognized actors in the world. Something that perhaps has not translated into many memorable roles, except for his appearances in the video game as Hideo Kojima’s muse. Because both in the sadly canceled Silent Hills, a sequel to Silent Hill, and in the two Death Stranding, he is the absolute protagonist of the games.
In The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, we follow Daryl as he tries to uncover how he ended up in France, the origin of the zombie infection, while also trying to understand how humanity has reached this situation. Something that will make him travel throughout the Mediterranean and discover how things in Europe are very different from how they are in the US.
With three seasons so far, with the third just finished literally two days ago, the series continues to receive enthusiasm from fans. Being their favorite character, it’s no surprise that the spin-off works perfectly. Especially as it focuses not only on Daryl but on a whole new situation that goes beyond the already known setting.
Now, the series will not continue much longer. Although a fourth season has been announced, it has already been warned that it will be the fourth and final one. Serving as a closure for the most beloved spin-off of the franchise. So if you want to catch up, you can do so by watching the entire series streaming on AMC+, although you also have the first season available on Prime Video and AppleTV+. If you are not yet subscribed to AMC+ and want to make sure if the series is worth it before subscribing to another streaming service.
