Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has established itself as one of the major releases of the year, selling over 7 million copies at its debut. Although its success is remarkable, Saber Interactive has made it clear that the adventure does not end here. The studio is committed to providing new content and updates for the game over the coming years, keeping the player community active.
Good things are worth waiting for
Oliver Hollis-Leick, creative director of Saber Interactive, has commented that the development of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 3 is in an early phase and its development cycle could last about four years. Despite this, he has assured that the development of the third installment will not affect the ongoing support for Space Marine 2, which is scheduled to receive updates and content until approximately 2028-2030.
Since its launch, the game has introduced several missions, enemies, and a well-received Horde Mode, in addition to plans to include a new playable class, the Techmarine, and additional expansions. This approach demonstrates Saber Interactive’s intention to keep players engaged and regularly offer them new content, which resembles a “game as a service” model, although Space Marine 2 is not strictly classified this way.
Despite the excitement generated by the announcement of Space Marine 3, fans can rest assured, as support and expansion for Space Marine 2 will remain the studio’s priority. The solid roadmap for the second year of Space Marine 2 suggests that Saber Interactive has long-term plans for the game, ensuring that players continue to enjoy new experiences while the next installment of the franchise is developed.

Henry Cavill, known for his roles in The Witcher and Man of Steel, has suffered a leg injury while training for the reboot of Highlander. Despite this setback, the actor has found a way to share his love for the Warhammer 40,000 universe during his recovery. In a recent Instagram post, Cavill shared an image of his injured leg, accompanied by his dog, but what caught the most attention was a poem he shared: Invictus, written by William Ernest Henley in 1875, which speaks about resilience and control over personal destiny.
Resilience and Warhammer 40,000
In addition to the image of the poem, the photo showed a book from the board game Warhammer: The Horus Heresy and, more subtly, a box of the Warhammer 40,000: Leviathan set on a nearby shelf. This inclusion of Warhammer-related material has sparked speculation about its future role in a possible film adaptation of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, which he could be leading. Fans suggest that the Horus Heresy book could be linked to a narrative exploring key events in the history of Warhammer.
Cavill is, without a doubt, one of the most prominent fans of the Warhammer 40,000 universe and, although his recent activity on social media seems to indicate his enthusiasm for the project, several analysts believe it may simply be a way to showcase his passion for the game. In this sense, the references might not be so much a preview of what is to come, but rather a celebration of his personal hobby.
As Cavill recovers from his injury, it is clear that the actor is deeply connected to the world of Warhammer, an interest he has expressed on multiple occasions throughout his career.

The Warhammer 40K adaptation starring Henry Cavill, which is being produced by Games Workshop and Amazon, continues its development in secrecy. Since its announcement, fans have been waiting for news that, so far, has been scarce. The situation is not surprising, given that Games Workshop is known for its meticulous management of this franchise, and the process is expected to take its time.
A War on the Horizon!
The agreement between Games Workshop and Amazon was finalized in December 2024, and although a recent financial report from the company has confirmed that the project is moving forward, specific details cannot be disclosed due to contractual restrictions. This means that both Cavill and the production team are prohibited from sharing information, leaving fans in a state of waiting and uncertainty.
The rumors about the adaptation are inevitable in such an anxious environment; however, Warhammer fans are advised to lower their expectations and to direct their attention to other aspects of the vast Warhammer 40K universe. This situation is similar to what Saber Interactive experienced with the development of Space Marine 2, where information management was equally strict on the part of Games Workshop.
Meanwhile, Cavill, who will also take on a leading role, has not shared any hints on social media, keeping the mystery surrounding the project. While curiosity and speculation are part of the fandom, it is clear that the development of the Warhammer 40K adaptation is a monumental effort that will require patience from the community. For now, we can only wait and see how this anticipated film project evolves.

Saber Interactive has announced the release of a new season pass for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, as part of the celebration of the game’s first anniversary. This new content, which will begin to roll out in September, will include both free updates and DLC, promising to meet the demand of players who have requested new content over the past year.
A content-packed update
The 10.0 Update will bring the highly anticipated Power Axe, which will feature its own set of moves and execution animations. This addition has become one of the most requested weapons in the game’s arsenal. Additionally, a new PVP mode titled Chaos Vs Chaos will be introduced, allowing players to use a Helbrute, a variety of Chaos Dreadnought, in a competitive environment on a new map. Chaos armors will also be added, something that the community has longed for since the game’s launch.
In a move that has excited many, Saber Interactive has confirmed that they are developing a new class for PVP and PVE modes: the Technomarine (Frater Astrotechnicus). This role will focus on technical support, allowing players to manage and repair the technology of their fellow Space Marines. However, there are still no details about its specific functions or release date.
Although a clear roadmap for future content of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has not been provided, it is mentioned that these additions are just the beginning of the second year of the game. The community remains hopeful for more announcements and content that can enrich the experience of this popular title based on the Warhammer 40K universe.
The possibility of a crossover between Helldivers 2 and the Warhammer 40K universe has been in the air for some time, generating excitement both in gaming communities and on social media. Both parties seem enthusiastic about the idea, as confirmed by Shams Jorjani, CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios. Jorjani highlighted in a recent impromptu Q&A session on Discord that both he and his team are big fans of the Games Workshop franchise, and that conversations to make this long-awaited crossover happen have been frequent. However, the realization […]
Jorjani highlighted in a recent impromptu Q&A session on Discord that both he and his team are big fans of the Games Workshop franchise, and that conversations to carry out this much-desired crossover have been frequent.
However, the execution of this project faces temporary obstacles. According to Jorjani, the studio is currently immersed in the development of a new War Bond and the narrative related to the Meridia black hole, which complicates the possibility of implementing a crossover at this time. “We are busy, but the desire to do this is present,” he stated, hinting that the interest in collaboration remains alive.
Warhammer 40K in Helldivers: something players long for
The demand for this crossover is not just a matter of desire; there is tangible evidence in the form of numerous mods created by the community, such as “HellMarines,” which reflect the fusion of both worlds. On Nexus Mods, players have explored exciting additions that allow Warhammer armors to integrate into the Helldivers universe, showcasing the existing enthusiasm for an official collaboration. Furthermore, there is already a Helldivers Chapter in Space Marine 2, making it even stranger that there is no formal crossover between both universes to date.
In summary, although both developers are aligned in their interest in making a crossover, Arrowhead’s current priorities have led to it not being realized yet. The community, for its part, continues to await news that could turn these desires into reality, one that, it seems, could be fulfilled in the future, although there is still no clear timeline.
There has been a Warhammer 40,000 event where numerous updates to its video games have been presented, and we bring them all to you.
Warhammer is everywhere. Beyond figures and tactical battles, it is one of the franchises that knows how to exploit transmedia the most and the best. With an absolutely obscene amount of video games, there is a video game for every Warhammer player. Almost literally. This was demonstrated in the presentation that took place yesterday, where all the new Warhammer video games were shown.
To begin with, a notice. There were hardly any announcements of new video games, but there were many DLCs, collaborations, and expansions. And although it may sound less exciting than a carousel of new games to be announced, it is still very interesting.
The first announcement, and probably the most exciting one for most people, is the crossover between Call of Duty and Warhammer 40K. Space Marines, Battle Sisters, Astra Militarum skins, and more will be coming to Call of Duty Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 on a yet to be announced date.
It turns out that for the first time since 1987, when they first appeared, the official ‘Warhammer’ account has declared that yes, there are female Custodians.
For years, ‘Warhammer 40K’ was a treehouse for groups of men who wanted to enjoy their hobby of painting miniatures and playing, but with a sign at the entrance indicating that girls were not allowed. However, general tastes have changed: video games, role-playing games, and strategy games have ceased to be assumed male niches (they never were, actually) and there are new demands in the market. And of course, some have been caught up in the treehouse without wanting to come down.
Controversy has arisen around the Custodians, a group of over 10,000 veteran warriors, each one independent and absolutely fabulous. In fact, it is, for example, the faction that portrays Henry Cavill. The actor has not commented on this terrible controversy surrounding the toy soldiers, but it turns out that for the first time since 1987, when they first appeared, the official ‘Warhammer’ account has stated that yes, there are female Custodians.
In addition, they have stated on Twitter that there have always been women among the original 10,000. And if you think that people have accepted it normally by saying “Oh, okay, a fact we didn’t know”, you are very mistaken. In 2024 everything has to be a cultural war. To explain their disagreement, they have brought up old lore pages where it was indicated that they were “men”. On the other hand, there is also a novel where it is indicated that they are “men and women” (like ‘Echoes of Eternity’), but everyone chooses what they want from a somewhat confusing lore.
In fact, Aaron Dembski-Bowden, author of the saga, recently explained on Reddit that anyone who believes they know the Custodians’ lore perfectly is mistaken because they don’t even control it at Games Workshop: “There was no reason why they couldn’t be men or women (even now). But there is a reason that has nothing to do with the lore, and it is the former owner of the intellectual property saying ‘There are no female Custodian models, they are all men, so don’t write any women’“. And in the end, it’s as simple as that.
Ultimately, everything is as simple as assembling your army without female miniatures (if they ever come out, which remains to be seen), if that’s what you prefer. Or only with women. Or adding whatever you want. Because in the end, it’s a board game meant to have fun, entertain yourself, feel alive, and be represented. Crying because the world progresses and you stay behind doesn’t say much about ‘Warhammer’ as it does about the person who is painting figurines and immersing themselves in a lore based on the construction of said figurines. I would say “Live and let live,” but I’m not sure if it’s correct in the case of ‘Warhammer 40K’.
