Arc Raiders presents a limited event focused on a single idea: cooperate with strangers as well

Arc Raiders players have a new opportunity to collaborate and earn rewards through a limited event called Shared Watch, which will take place from February 10 to 24. Although Arc Raiders is a PvPvE-focused game, this event marks a more cooperative approach, inviting players to work together instead of competing against each other. The initiative arises as an attempt to foster a peaceful environment within the community, which has at times been marked by confrontations between players.

Apoya a personas que no son tus amigos también

Developed by Embark Studios, Shared Watch is presented as a temporary event where players are encouraged to team up and face the machines instead of each other. According to a statement from Embark, “You watch my back, I watch yours — that’s how Speranza keeps running.”

Players who participate can earn various rewards, including a baseball referee-themed outfit called The Slugger. Although not all rewards have been detailed yet, the event promises to offer incentives for those who choose this mode of play.

Despite the fact that Shared Watch focuses on cooperation, the core of Arc Raiders as a PvPvE game has not changed, and player combat will continue to be strong in the days to come. However, this new direction suggests a potential shift in community dynamics, which seems to be advocating for a more pacifist approach in their gaming experience.

This game from the creators of World of Tanks was released just three months ago and almost nobody plays it anymore

Wargaming has announced the definitive closure of the servers for Steel Hunters, its third-person PvPvE multiplayer shooter, scheduled for October 8. This situation has led the studio to acknowledge that continuing its development is no longer sustainable. Wargaming has announced the definitive closure of the servers for Steel Hunters, its third-person PvPvE multiplayer shooter, scheduled for October 8. The title, launched in early access in April, failed to capture the interest of a broad audience, reaching a peak of only 4,479 concurrent players, according to data from SteamDB. This situation has led the studio to acknowledge that continuing its development is no longer sustainable.

Chronicle of an Announced Closure

Steel Hunters, which promised intense futuristic battles with mechs, was presented at The Game Awards 2024, but its lack of differentiation in a saturated shooter market has been its Achilles’ heel. Despite Wargaming’s experience, known for the success of World of Tanks, the proposal failed to stand out against other popular titles, leaving many wondering about the future of games as a service.

To close the Steel Hunters experience, Wargaming will offer special support for custom game modes, allowing users to play with friends, create community matches, and share “final memories” in a controlled environment. All hunters will be unlocked in this new mode, and players will be given the opportunity to access mechs that have never been presented before.

In addition, the study has scheduled a farewell tournament that will bring together the most regular players, a final opportunity to enjoy the game before the server is completely disconnected. The story of Steel Hunters is reminiscent of other recent failures in the genre, such as Concord, which closed just days after its launch, and XDefiant, a Ubisoft shooter that failed to establish itself alongside industry titans like Call of Duty.

The world of video games has been shaken by the announcement of a new title from FromSoftware, titled The Duskbloods, which was revealed during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct. This development is surprising not only for being an addition to Nintendo’s library but also for its focus on a more robust multiplayer experience, an unexpected twist for a studio known for its narrative-driven and individual experience approach.

From Software embarks on another peculiar multiplayer adventure

The Duskbloods stands out as a PvPvE action game that supports up to eight players, marking a significant evolution in the studio’s direction towards multiplayer. Unlike previous titles like Dark Souls and Elden Ring, where multiplayer was an optional feature, this new IP is designed from the ground up to offer a collective experience, breaking down the barriers between single-player and shared gameplay.

Although at first glance it may evoke the aesthetics of Bloodborne, FromSoftware assures that The Duskbloods is a completely new concept. This shift in focus follows the trend initiated with Elden Ring, as well as the friend project Nightreign, a game that had already explored new multiplayer dynamics, albeit with a limited number of participants. This suggests that FromSoftware is committed to expanding its universe through cooperative and competitive gaming experiences.

With the industry increasingly leaning towards multiplayer-focused titles, FromSoftware’s new game could signify a radical shift in its creative strategy. Although fans may have some reservations about this new approach, expectations are high. FromSoftware’s evolution towards multiplayer could redefine the way their experiences are enjoyed, and many will be watching closely how this new chapter in their history unfolds.
