The non-E3 2024 arrives: we will tell you about all the conferences that are coming

These are the dates for E3, and although there is no E3, there are a ton of conferences from which we will tell you everything you need to know.

We are already in June, one of the favorite months for video game fans. The month of E3. Unfortunately, E3 is dead. Caput. It no longer exists. Does that mean we won’t have a week full of announcements for new games to come? Not at all. During these dates, numerous conferences will take place in what we have affectionately called the nonE3. So we will have our annual dose of hype, FOMO, and eagerness to play.

Now, there are quite a few different conferences. It’s easy to get lost and not know which one will really interest you. Even if we know that some of you will try to watch them all. That’s why we’re going to guide you through all the conferences that will take place, when they will be broadcasted, where you can watch them, and what to expect from them. Because, really, the nonE3 is more intense than many E3s we’ve seen.

Guerrilla Collective

Day: Thursday, June 6th

Time: 19:00 Spanish time

Where to watch: Twitch / Youtube

The E3 will start with the Guerrilla Collective, which will celebrate its fifth consecutive year. Here we can expect, exclusively, indie game presentations. According to their organizations, the confirmed games are Slime Heroes, by Whitehorn Games, Neon Blood, by ChaoticBrain Studios, and Deathbound, by Trialforge Studio. But every year they usually have some interesting surprises, so it’s one of those essential conferences.

Acceso-Ability Summer Showcase

Day: Friday, June 7th

Time: 17:00 Spanish time

Where to watch: Twitch / Youtube

Presented by Laura Kate Dale, this event will focus on games developed by people with disabilities and games with options designed for people with disabilities. They have confirmed that Whitethorn Games, Fiction Factory Games, and Platonic, creators of Yooka-Layle, will be there. A conference that promises to be very interesting.

Summer Game Fest 2024

Day: Friday, June 7th

Time: 23:00 Spanish time

Where to watch: Twitch / Youtube

One of the highlights of the noE3, presented by Geoff Keighley. With 55 companies having confirmed their presence, to some extent, it promises to be an event full of announcements. However, if previous Summer Game Fests are any indication, we warn you: it will be a conference full of non-gaming related announcements and a rather precarious pace. Forewarned is forearmed.

Day of the Devs

Day: Friday, June 7th

Time: Unknown (but immediately after the Summer Game Fest)

Where to watch: Twitch / Youtube

Probably the most interesting event of the non-E3 for indie game fans. News is expected from Karma: The Dark World, Phoenix Spring, and UFO 50, the new game from Derek Yu, creator of Spelunky. Historically, Day of the Devs has announced some of the indie games that have caused the most sensation upon their release. That’s why this is a must-attend event for any indie game lover.

Devolver Direct

Day: Saturday, June 8th

Time: 02:00 Spanish time

Where to watch: Twitch / Youtube

Historically celebrated in a parking lot, now in a conference always full of craziness, they haven’t confirmed anything yet about what they will show. It is expected that we will know more about Anger Foot, Skate Story, and The Plucky Squire, as well as see new games yet to be announced. That, and some madness about generative AI and how it’s going to destroy the world, probably.

Future of Play Direct

Day: Saturday, June 8th

Time: 17:00 Spanish time

Where to watch: Youtube

Indie game event presented by a V-tuber who has not yet confirmed any games. Last year was interesting, without being crazy, so we expect something similar this year.

Wholesome Direct

Day: Saturday, June 8th

Time: 18:00 Spanish time

Where to watch it: Twitch / Youtube

Here we are for cute, soft and warm games. Little violence, less politics, although they usually present interesting games. If you like farm games, work games or in general, games that are cute and comforting, this is your conference. If you expect something with more action, better skip it.

Latin America Games Showcase

Day: Saturday, June 8th

Time: 19:00 Spanish time

Where to watch it: Twitch / Youtube

As its name suggests, it will be a conference based on games made in Latin America. Featuring 45 games, they have already announced all the games that will be showcased during the conference. We recommend keeping an eye out for games like Keylocker, Mariachi Legend, and Arco, games with great potential that could easily become your next obsession. And they will be featured here.

Women-led Games Summer Games Fest

Day: Saturday, June 8th

Time: 20:30 Spanish time

Where to watch: Twitch / Youtube

Once again, a self-explanatory conference. This one will focus on games developed by studios led by women or with a majority of women working on them. While no games have been announced yet, previous editions of this showcase have resulted in some noteworthy releases.

Future Games Show

Day: Saturday, June 8th

Time: 21:00 Spanish time

Where to watch: Twitch / Youtube

Official event of Games Radar, it is not usually the most eye-catching of the non-E3, but they always bring interesting things. Last year’s hits were Still Wakes the Deep, No Rest for the Wicked, Hauntii, and Holstin, which makes us think that this year they will bring an interesting mix of AA and indie games. However, they have not announced any games so far.

Xbox Games Showcase

Day: Sunday, June 9th

Time: 18:00 Spanish time

Where to watch: Twitch / Youtube

Another highlight of E3 is the Xbox showcase. With Nintendo and Sony not present during these dates, Microsoft has the stage all to themselves. And they need it. After a terrible start to the year for the company, they can try to redeem themselves with news about their announced games, almost none with a release date, and announce new games. They have the carpet under their feet, now they just need to walk on it.

PC Gaming Show

Day: Sunday, June 9th

Time: 20:00 Spanish time

Where to watch it: Twitch / Youtube

One of the most alienating events of the non-E3 is, without a doubt, the PC Gaming Show. With over 50 games, as well as interviews with developers, it tends to be an event without a clear focus beyond focusing on PC. Long, usually with a slow pace, they usually present a handful of interesting games, but be prepared to see many games that you will never see again.

Ubisoft Forward

Day: Monday, June 10th

Time: 21:00 Spanish time

Where to watch it: Twitch / Youtube

To close the E3, at least as far as we know, it’s Ubisoft. Their Ubisoft Forward in recent years have been tremendously disappointing, something we hope will change this year. We are likely to see more of Star Wars Outlaws and Assassin’s Creed Shadows, it is not so likely that we will see anything from Beyond Good & Evil 2, and we will probably see some new game announced. We just hope it’s not another free-to-play shooter that closes in four months.

What’s behind the sexual spam on Twitter? Spoiler: nothing good

The important thing is that there is someone desperate enough to say, “Finally, I have found someone who wants to have a night of passion with me.” And there will be someone, because otherwise, this display of effort makes no sense. But what hides behind it?

Are you still navigating the stormy waters of Twitter, despite knowing that it is a nest of toxicity? Yes? Well, then there are three words that you know summarize Elon Musk’s tenure at the helm of the social network: “Pussy in bio”. For months, porn bots promising great lubricious experiences for the most desperate Twitter users have been filling the social network, responding to practically every tweet in all sorts of different ways.

These bots can promise nudes on the profile or in the biography, directly show naked photos or translate their lustful copies into other languages. The important thing is that there is someone desperate enough to say “I have finally found someone who wants to have a passionate night with me”. And there will be someone, because otherwise this display of resources makes no sense. But what is hidden behind it?

Mi Dunas en la biografía

In May 2022, Elon Musk promised that under his mandate, bots on Twitter would be eliminated. In June 2024, bots have taken over the social network and made it their own because -oh surprise- it was easier to promise than to do. No matter how much he wanted to stop the spam porn or cryptocurrency bots, in February of this year “My pussy” was a trending topic by using it over and over again. Think about that.

At least the bots that try to blame TV celebrities for “telling the truth” on a supposed TV show (sometimes encouraged with a clearly dubbed video by artificial intelligence) work hard to make us believe that investing in cryptos is the future. This is pure laziness. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t desperate people who go to the profile and click on their website hoping, desperately, to find naked women on the Internet, something that has never been seen before.

But how did we get here? First of all, Twitter, unlike Tumblr or Meta, is a very permissive social network when it comes to nudity and pornography, whether artistic or directly commercial. There is no problem in showing yourself as God brought you into the world if that’s what you want, or promoting your OnlyFans as long as you put a tag so that the photo or video appears blurry before clicking on it. Knowing that they can’t ban them on that side, it’s the Wild West.

I gave you all my love at love dot com

And then, what happens? What’s behind a bot that says “my nudes on my profile” to every tweet with a little interaction? Let’s find out. Normally, when you enter the profile all you see is a suggestive photo with a link and a copy like “Hi! Do you want to see me naked?”. When you click on it, Twitter warns, at least, that it is a potentially dangerous link, but you can continue anyway.

Most likely it will take you to a fake social network that promises nudes that never arrive (for example, StripChat or MeetDats), where you can create an apparent free account and chat with models, who, of course, are there for you. It is a business focused on very single and very gullible men who, in addition to the fake social network, may come across fake games with EA logos, porn TikToks or imitations of OnlyFans. Anything goes, but it leads to the same place: an attack on your wallet.

And if you have entered, they assume that they have you trapped and you don’t mind going through a very long process to access the promised nudes after a good handful of clicks. Then a ridiculous selection system begins with questions like “These women only want quick sex, not dates. Do you accept?” and, once again, a redirection. This time, as you may have guessed, to a place to enter your credit card.

If you’ve made it this far, chances are you’re already all in, but the reality is that you should read the fine print where it states that it is “a service of entertainment and fantasy” with fictional profiles and they do not take responsibility for any harm that may come your way. Of course, you have to know that before paying a euro (just one euro!) per message with people who will promise to meet you very soon. A soon that will never come.

I know you think you can’t, but you can be wrong at some point seduced by the sirens’ songs of easy and unattached passion, but the truth is very different. The problem is when along the way you can spend a lot of money without realizing it for a fantasy that will never come true. But of course, saying “scam in my profile”, for whatever reason, doesn’t attract as much attention. Be careful, because Elon Musk won’t protect you.

Google Messages already allows you to do something very useful, for which Twitter charges you

Google has released a series of updates and new features for Android, highlighting the ability to edit messages in the Google Messages app, an increasingly common feature in messaging and social media apps (except for Twitter). Now, users can modify their messages up to 15 minutes after sending them.

This long-awaited feature is activated by holding down the sent message and selecting the pencil icon that appears at the top of the screen. The update, which started rolling out this week, will be available for all devices with Android 8 or higher.

In addition to this new feature in the Messages app, Google has improved the instant hotspot. Soon, users will be able to connect an Android tablet or Chromebook to their phone’s hotspot with a single tap and without the need for a password. This update will also allow switching between connected devices during Google Meet calls by simply tapping the Cast icon. These improvements will be available starting from June 10th for devices with Android 11 or higher.

In addition, the Google Home Favorites widget, which allows you to control smart home devices, is available in public preview and can be added to the Android phone’s home screen. Finally, Emoji Kitchen will receive new sticker combinations on June 10th, expanding the available options through Gboard.
