The Shift Up team is in the midst of a whirlwind of speculation following the success of their game Stellar Blade, released on PlayStation 5 and PC. This week, the South Korean developer plans an announcement that has generated great anticipation among the gaming community, particularly after the release of an enigmatic image that has sparked a myriad of theories on social media and forums.

Is it about Silent Hill f?

Since its debut, Stellar Blade has positioned itself as one of the surprises of 2024, achieving a positive reception and a loyal fan base. However, the recent image, which shows an unusual hallway for its previous settings, has led players to speculate about its possible implications. Although Shift Up has not revealed concrete details, it is expected that the mystery will be resolved in the coming days.

The most discussed hypotheses include a potential collaboration with iconic franchises like Resident Evil, especially considering that Capcom will be involved in another project from the studio, Goddess of Victory: Nikke. However, the unsettling atmosphere of the image has also led some to think of a partnership with Silent Hill, which will release a new installment, Silent Hill f, this very week.

In addition to the collaborations, some players suggest that the announcement could refer to new downloadable content for Stellar Blade or even the possibility of a port for Nintendo Switch 2. With the secrecy surrounding the reveal, the community is eager, and speculations continue to grow. Undoubtedly, the coming days will be crucial to understanding the future of Shift Up and its enigmatic project.

Hyung-Tae Kim, CEO of Shift Up and director of the game Stellar Blade, has surprised the community by revealing that his favorite mod does not belong to the NSFW content realm, but rather features Doro, an adorable character from the mobile game Goddess of Victory: Nikke. Doro, whose representation in the game was inspired by a meme version of a character named Dorothy, was included in Stellar Blade as a tribute to the popular fan art surrounding it.

It’s a very cute mod, very different from most of the mods in the game

The mod, created by the user xjdyz and available on NexusMods, allows Doro to become a pet that follows Eve, the protagonist of the game, on her adventures. This contrasting inclusion is refreshing, considering that adult content mods for Stellar Blade have accumulated over a million downloads, thus evidencing the great popularity of this type of content compared to more harmless options.

During an interview with Game Spark, Kim emphasized his desire to see more meaningful mods for Stellar Blade, highlighting the need for solutions that do not sexualize the characters. This statement suggests a longing on the part of the director to cultivate a modding community that prioritizes creativity and inclusion over explicit content.

Additionally, in an interesting turn, the study behind Stellar Blade has acquired development kits for the Nintendo Switch 2 console, although it has not yet confirmed any specific plans for this new platform. This raises the possibility of expanding the game to new audiences, although more details will be needed to fully understand the future of Stellar Blade in the Nintendo ecosystem.

Stellar Blade has achieved an impressive milestone in the video game industry, selling over three million copies worldwide in just three days since its launch on Steam. This success adds to its debut as a PlayStation 5 exclusive in 2024, where it had already received a good reception. During the first hours on the PC platform, the title reached over 100,000 simultaneous players, demonstrating the great interest and anticipation generated by the game.

It has left us speechless

The criticism towards Stellar Blade has been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting its combative gameplay system, its spectacular visual design, and the technical optimization that SHIFT UP has achieved in the PC adaptation. This favorable trend has cemented the studio’s reputation as a leader in creating high-quality gaming experiences.

In a move that strengthens its creative ecosystem, SHIFT UP has announced a notable collaboration between Stellar Blade and its other major success, Goddess of Victory: NIKKE. This partnership includes cross-downloadable content, such as mini-games and exclusive outfits, as well as special battles that increase the notoriety of both franchises. This not only expands the user experience but also nurtures the synergy between the studio’s titles.

Goddess of Victory: NIKKE also continues its successful expansion, especially in China, where it has registered over 10 million users, thus reflecting its growing popularity. With this collaboration strategy and a strong focus on quality, SHIFT UP is consolidating itself as one of the most influential Asian studios in the video game market today.

Stellar Blade, the hack and slash action game developed by Shift Up, has had a successful launch since April 2023, selling over a million copies. This title has been gaining popularity thanks to its combination of frantic combat, science fiction setting, and an immersive narrative that transports players to a future full of mystery and action.

Recently, during the State of Play, Shift Up announced a collaboration in the form of DLC with Goddess of Victory: Nikke, the popular IP from the Korean studio. Although not many details have been revealed about the specific content or the price of this new DLC, a glimpse of new outfits and what appears to be a completely new area has been shown, increasing the anticipation among the game’s fans.

Stellar Blade will arrive on PC very soon

Another relevant announcement is that Stellar Blade will be released on PC via Steam in June 2025, allowing a new audience to experience the game. Although the title is already available in Valve’s store to add to the wishlist, it is anticipated that this version may surpass the sales achieved on PS5, which directly influences the company’s development strategy.

In addition, Shift Up has received a million-dollar investment that will allow the development of new projects related to video games, including Stellar Blade. The developers are working hard on optimizing the game for devices like Steam Deck and Asus ROG Ally, which could provide a more accessible and smooth gaming experience for a wider variety of players.

Everything seems to indicate that, beyond the DLC with Goddess of Victory, no more content updates will be added, so all eyes are on the potential of the game’s adaptation to PC and its relationship with the gaming community in general.
