Grounded 2, the highly anticipated sequel to one of the most beloved survival titles, is now available for free testing on Steam this weekend, until February 2 at 7:00 PM. This trial invites players to explore the new area of Brookhollow Park and to use the innovative Ladybug Vehicle, designed to facilitate the exploration of the vast garden, which in turn becomes an imposing and danger-filled world.

Grounded 2 has taken the fans by storm

The update 0.3, titled The Toxic Tangle, accompanies this trial period, introducing a new biome full of challenges. This new environment is not only covered by a dangerous toxic fog, but also presents new threats, such as stink bugs and more dangerous variants of already known creatures. Players will need to equip themselves with gas masks to survive, adding a layer of strategy to the original game, which was already challenging.

The progress made during the free trial will be retained if the player decides to purchase Grounded 2, which is priced at 29.99 euros, with no active discounts at this time. The sequel, released in mid-2025, has continued to expand since its launch, offering significant improvements to the building system and adding new crafting recipes, providing users with more options to protect their bases against hordes of insects.

In addition, Obsidian Entertainment has shared a roadmap detailing future updates, promising the arrival of new biomes, creatures, and cooperative mechanics throughout the year. With this constant flow of content, the team behind Grounded 2 demonstrates its commitment to enriching the gaming experience, keeping alive the joy of millions of players who have already fallen in love with the garden transformed into a world full of challenges.

In total, 12 releases have been confirmed between October 8 and October 21, providing subscribers with a varied offering that includes RPGs, action and adventure games, as well as simulators.

Between Ninja Gaiden and Baldur’s Gate, something will surely convince you

The Premium plan of Game Pass is also enriched with the arrival of classic titles, such as Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Editions, which undoubtedly increase the value of the service. Users who choose this plan will also find Eternal Strands, a new action-adventure game that promises to capture the attention of genre enthusiasts.

With a dynamic catalog, Game Pass ensures a constant rotation of titles. However, it also means that some games will say goodbye. On October 15, three titles will leave the service, giving players the opportunity to purchase them with a 20% discount before their removal. This strategy allows users to make the most of their subscription before some of their favorite gaming experiences disappear.

In addition to the lineup of new games, Game Pass is designed to provide an integrated experience that includes not only the ability to play on consoles and PCs but also in the cloud, offering greater flexibility to players. Subscribers will also be able to enjoy rewards and DLCs for popular titles like Grounded 2 and Diablo IV. As the gaming community opens new doors with these releases, anticipation grows about what surprises are in store for Halloween.

Grounded 2 exists because they couldn't add these things in the original Grounded

The highly anticipated video game Grounded 2 was released in early access on July 29 for Xbox Series X|S and PC, also available through Game Pass. This release marks an important step for the franchise, as its director, Chris Parker, has noted that the sequel was driven by the technological limitations of the previous version on Xbox One, which made it difficult to implement new features requested by the community.

Things We Can Expect from Grounded 2: Buggies

One of the main novelties that Grounded 2 brings are the buggies, vehicles that players can use in the game. It has been confirmed that initially there will be two buggies available: the red ant and the orb weaver spider. Each one has specific abilities, providing an improved tactical approach for both gathering and combat. To obtain a buggy, players must steal an egg from the creature and hatch it at their base, turning the hostile insect into a friendly ally.

During an event at the Summer Game Fest 2025, Parker explained that, although the team continued to develop updates for Grounded, the desire to address community requests and the limitations of Xbox One technology led to the decision to create a sequel. Buggies were identified as the most requested feature by fans, demonstrating the studio’s commitment to feedback from its player base.

Additionally, Grounded 2 will retain the arachnophobia mode, allowing players to enjoy the experience without the fear of spiders. This accessibility feature has been well received in the community and underscores the studio’s attention to the diverse needs of players. In summary, Grounded 2 aims to expand the universe of its predecessor while focusing on improving the user experience from day one of early access.
