Return to Gilead
The series has been created by Bruce Miller, the showrunner and executive producer of The Handmaid’s Tale, which promises a continuity in the creative vision that has defined the narrative universe of Gilead. With this sequel, Hulu aims to expand the complexity of the story, delving into the new generations living under the strict regime of Gilead and exploring their reactions and struggles in an oppressive environment.
Atwood’s novel, published in 2019, is a work that captures the evolution of social tensions and power dynamics within Gilead, and its transition to the screen promises to offer viewers a mix of drama, social critique, and reflection on freedom and human rights. Although it is known that the series will maintain many of the central themes of the original work, it is also expected to bring new perspectives and characters that will enrich the narrative.
The streaming platform has been working hard to maintain the quality and emotional impact that characterize the series, and with The Testaments, they are undoubtedly looking to take the Gilead experience to a new level.

The series will be produced by Noah Hawley, known for his work on Alien: Earth and Fargo. Alongside him, Rob Mac, from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, will not only serve as an executive producer but will also make his acting debut in the first season.
A series that promises to stay close to video games
The anthology structure of the series will allow for the exploration of new and exotic locations in each installment, similar to what productions like Fargo, True Detective, or American Horror Story have served as a model for. This flexibility reflects the trend of the Far Cry video games to take players through a variety of vibrant and chaotic settings, promising to be an engaging experience for viewers.
Far Cry was first released in 2004 and has established itself as one of Ubisoft’s most successful franchises, especially highlighting its third installment, Far Cry 3, which introduced the charismatic villain Vaas, a character beloved by fans. This is not Ubisoft’s first attempt to bring its video game properties to the screen; the company already has a series of Assassin’s Creed in the works for Netflix, as well as the animated series Splinter Cell: Deathwatch.
Although few details are known about the specific plot of the Far Cry series, Rob Mac’s comments suggest that Ubisoft has placed significant trust in the production team, raising high expectations for the adaptation. The blend of a strong video game legacy and the creativity of its producers could translate into high-quality content for fans of narrative and action.

Hulu has confirmed the renewal of its successful original series ‘Only Murders in the Building’ for a sixth season.. This decision reinforces the ongoing popularity of the series, which has been renewed multiple times since its premiere.
The true crime podcast you don’t want to stop listening to
The new season will be filmed in London, a change of scenery that could bring a fresh air to the narrative already acclaimed by critics and viewers. In addition, the sixth season will consist of 10 episodes, which promises to maintain the intriguing pace that characterizes the series.
The fifth season of ‘Only Murders in the Building’, which began airing on September 9, features a new episode every Tuesday, and it has just concluded with the latest episode. This format has kept viewers hooked, generating a constant conversation about the twists and surprises that the series offers.
Created by Steve Martin and John Hoffman, the series has gained recognition not only for its intriguing mystery plot but also for its remarkable cast, which includes Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. The blend of comedy and suspense has resonated well with the audience, making ‘Only Murders in the Building’ one of Hulu’s flagship shows.
With this renewal, it is expected that creators will continue to develop the complexities of the characters and the criminal entanglements they are involved in.

Disney+ has made a significant change to its interface by replacing the Star tab with the Hulu tab, reflecting a broader strategy by the company to integrate its brands more effectively. Despite this visual change, the content available to users remains the same, as, for example, series like ‘Only Murders in the Building’ that previously displayed the Star brand will now carry the Hulu logo.
No changes at the content level
This adjustment responds to the lack of recognition that Star had in the United States, while Hulu is a brand more rooted in the North American market. Disney has decided to leverage the name of Hulu, especially at a time when this streaming service, created in 2007 as a joint platform between various networks, is undergoing a process of dissolution as an independent brand. Hulu is expected to be fully integrated into Disney+ by 2026, which will restructure the way users access their content.
For Disney+ users outside the United States, this change will have little impact, as the integration is primarily taking place in the U.S. market. In the global context, Star was initially seen as a temporary solution to get rid of the FOX brand internationally, garnering little attention compared to its successor. The shift towards Hulu seems logical, as it seeks to consolidate all content under one umbrella and facilitate access to its numerous original productions.
As Hulu ceases to exist as an independent service, Disney’s strategy reflects a trend towards optimizing its resources and content, providing users with a more uniform and simplified experience. With this move, Disney+ not only takes a step forward in its streaming proposal, but also indicates a future where the integration of its platforms will be even more pronounced.
For a series to be on the air for more than 25 years and accumulate over 150 episodes, it must have something special. It can’t just be that it had three or four good seasons: it must have something even today that makes its fans keep coming back and even casual viewers remain interested in it. It must have magic. Character. A special interest. Because nothing survives that long without knowing how to renew itself and maintain a minimum level of quality. And certainly, that is the case with Futurama. For a series to be on air for more than 25 years and accumulate over 150 episodes, it must have something special.
Premiering in 1999 on the Fox network, this sitcom follows Philip J. Fry, a good-for-nothing from the 20th century, who is cryogenically frozen on New Year’s Eve of 1999 to wake up on December 31, 2999. After an exemplary first episode that would not remotely prepare us for what was to come, he would end up working at Planet Express, an interstellar package delivery company along with Bender, an alcoholic robot, and Leela, a mutant with one eye.
The series originated in the minds of Matt Groening and David X. Cohen. The former, creator of The Simpsons, needs no introduction. Cohen, for his part, was a writer for Beavis and Butt-Head and The Simpsons, being the co-creator of the series along with Groening. A detail that many fans tend to overlook.
With four absolutely stellar seasons, the series came to an end with a bittersweet tone: it seemed there was still much to tell, and fans believed so. After a series of films of uneven quality, the series was rescued with three more seasons on Comedy Central in 2008 after a five-year hiatus, two of which were split into two parts. Although Futurama still had appeal, it was no longer the same: from the fifth to the seventh season, or from the fifth to the ninth season depending on whom you ask, the series no longer had the same charm. Suffering from The Simpsons Syndrome. It continues and continues, but it doesn’t seem to really be able to reach the level of its original seasons.
Unless something changed in 2023. After another break, this time of ten years, the series returned with Hulu. And as in the case of The Simpsons with its last three or four seasons, something had changed. It still doesn’t live up to its original seasons, but it feels fresh again and much more focused. With a sharper humor, less focused on topics with an expiration date in our society in a poor copy of South Park, and concentrating on character development. Something that the newly released thirteenth season, or tenth depending on how you look at it, is no exception.
Knowing how to adapt to the present
Focusing more on character development, what happened in previous seasons and creating a more evident continuity, like in the early seasons, do not abandon self-contained episodes or those with a specific theme, but they are better integrated. Giving them a greater sense of cohesion.
With more weight on secondary characters that normally haven’t had it, like Doctor Zoidberg, and focusing on what has been the epicenter of the Futurama narrative for almost two decades, the romance between Leela and Fry, the season may suffer from having all its episodes released at once. Futurama, like The Simpsons, benefits from watching episodes multiple times and savoring them, rather than watching episodes in rapid succession without meaning. That said, the possibility of rewatching the episodes a second or third time is always there, something that seems to particularly benefit this new season.
Because there must be something about water when it is blessed. Something that Futurama is no exception to. That’s why this thirteenth season wants to show that the series created by Groening and Cohen is still in as good shape as ever, even if it doesn’t reach the heights of its original seasons. A level that, surely, is impossible to reach again.

It has been reported that the pilot will feature a new vampire slayer, while Buffy Summers, played by Sarah Michelle Gellar, will return as a mentor to this young heroine.
A reboot with a new approach
Gellar, the star of the original series, will reprise her role as an adult Buffy, an approach that promises to explore her evolution over the years. Alongside her, Ryan Kiera Armstrong will become “the chosen one,” a role that has generated expectations after being praised by Gellar on social media, who expressed that from the first casting she knew Armstrong would be the ideal choice.
The cast also includes Faly Rakotohavana, Ava Jean, Sarah Bock, Daniel di Tomasso, and Jack Cutmore-Scott, although details about their characters remain shrouded in mystery. The first script reading has already taken place, suggesting that production could begin soon, as long as Hulu approves the pilot in the development phase.
Sisters Nora Zuckerman and Lila Zuckerman, responsible for writing and executive production, are in charge of bringing this new era of the saga to life, while the direction of the pilot will be handled by Chloé Zhao, known for her work on Nomadland. With credentials of experience, there is considerable hope in the potential of this renewed series.
If Hulu greenlights the production, the first season could premiere between 2026 and 2027, as long as development continues at a good pace. Until then, fans of Buffy, the vampire slayer will have to wait for more news about this exciting return.
